Whats the best way to lose weight in your legs??

Is it walking? I swear if it wasn't for my legs and hips I would be that big. DH and I were talking about diets and excersise at lunch and he said you aren't that big except in your legs. You need to find an excersise just for the legs and hips. My jeans literally have to be rolled under in the waist to fit my legs and hips.

Any advice??
 
I don't think you can spot reduce like that. Have you considered liposuction. I think it is probably the best option (although drastic) for recontouring.
 
You can't "just" lose fat in your legs. Exercising your legs without also reducing your overall body fat will just make your leg muscles (and thus your legs) bigger. Yes - start walking and exercising. But also know that you may need to reduce your calorie intake if you want to change your actual size and shape.

Another thing to consider is finding a new brand of jeans. Some brands are made more for pear-shaped people (bigger hips and legs/smaller waist) and other brands are made more for apple-shaped people (smaller hips and legs/bigger waist).
 
Advice, assuming you have a well balanced diet would be to continue walking, add some cardio work a couple times a week, (you only burn fat when you work at an aerobic level), and do some toning exercises for your hips and thighs. Lunges are good, as are squats. Good luck!

I dont have any advice for you, but found your post interesting. I have the opposite problem. All my weight goes to my hips so I have the hardest time finding a pair of jeans that dont looks like clown pants in the legs. FWIW, I do jog 7 days a week and walk about 5, so maybe there is something to the walking/jogging thing, or its just how my body is. :rolleyes: ;) Good luck finding something that helps.
 
Do you lift weights and do cardio? I've found this combination great for shaping up. I bike, run and swim, and this gives me a lot of stamina. I want to maintain my weight, and get in shape for races.

If you start lifting ask someone at the gym for advice, just so you don't start out wrong and pull a muscle!

comprehensive workouts tend to produce better results, even if you just want to focus on one area. :D
 
Got anybody to kick? I'm sure if you do it enough it would help! :) Seriously though, find something to do with kicking - like a cardio workout that will have you doing kicks or something like that to start getting your legs in shape. When I did leg lifts I would do some kicks out and that really did help me.
 
running and lifting weights. If you concentrate soley on your legs running/jogging and doing lunges will help shape them. Also if you are trying to lose weight. Change your eatting habits intead of binge dieting.
 
I'm not a big infomercial person, but I bought a butt and thigh roller and I love it. Paired with cardio and light weights on my upper body to keep it balanced, it works great. Kind of boring, but if you listen to good music, time can go be pretty fast.
 
I've had good results long term with yoga and pilates. Been doing them 2 years. Those size 14 jeans are now size 8.

I know this sounds crazy but just walking instead of jogging will get your legs slimmer. And just remember we all have something we want to change about ourselves. You can only change if you believe and try.
