All the talk on that other thread got me thinking about my "glory days" of going to concerts all the time. I'd have a hard time picking the "best" out of all of them, but Bon Jovi (Bad Medicine), Motley Crue (Girls Girls Girls), and Ratt/Poison (just before Poison really hit it big) all spring to mind, as do Ozzy (on the Blizzard of Oz tour) and Kiss (pretty much any time).

So, what's the best concert you've ever been to ? (Doesn't have to be rock...I could easily add Garth Brooks to the top of my list.)

For a "rock" concert I'd have to say Aerosmith, and Guns N Roses opened for them, jst before they hit it big.

For the best all around concert, I'd have to say Jimmy Buffett or Sting.

Don't have any rock concerts to add, sorry. But the best concert I've been to would be Jimmy Buffet. Some crazy stuff goes on at those things :earseek: .......

The best concert I've ever been to was Elton John in the early 80's. It was an outdoor venue, and it was pouring down rain, but that didn't stop the people from staying. It was simply electrifying. His "Funeral for a Friend" that night is something I will never forget.

I've been to several hundred concerts in my life, but have never seen anything like it before or since.

A concert I went to recently that I thought was really great was the Counting Crows. They played much longer than scheduled, and they jammed/improvised throughout many of their hit songs, making them almost like new songs. What a great performance these guys gave, would love to see them again.

Metallica in 89. The Cult opened and they rocked too.

Bon Jovi is always good. I saw them the first time when they opened for RATT. 1985 I think??

KISS always does an awesome show as does the Crue. Garth Brooks kicks some serious butt in his stage show too.

Bruce Springsteen 1978 @ Jadwin Gym, Princeton University NJ

Alan Jackson Nassau Col. Last Year

Dixie Chicks Nassau Col. Last summer

I saw that tour too !! Wasn't a huge fan of the Cult, but LOVED Metallica's show. Probably the last time I actually listened to them, too, since they sold out shortly thereafter (and I don't mean the show sold out, I mean they turned into poseurs). :teeth:

PINK FLOYD in the early 90's.

The Barenaked Ladies, before they were popular. They came to our college campus and there were only about 300 people there. Geggie Tah (sp?) opened for them.

They gave it their all! Honestly, I never really liked concerts that much, but BN gave a great show that night!! It was more than just playing music; they entertained!

Aerosmith with a Kiss opener about a year ago.

Followed closely by an Elton John concert back in his drug days. (Like Snoopy, it was an outdoor venue. He played for nearly 3 hours & must have changed costumes 20 times.) I've seen him a few times since & he still does a great concert - just mellower.

I had tickets for that show. Stupid Hurricane Isabel came through and the show was cancelled. They didn't come back through here.

I don't know whether or not it was 1985 (sounds about right), but I also saw that show -- Bon Jovi was so much better than Ratt that night.

Joan Osbourne in a club in Little 5 Points in Atlanta. (wow- that was 10 years ago)

I love her voice, haven't seen her live though. She has a Janis Joplin vybe about her.

I don't know if I can pick just one....So many good performers out there....

No Doubt
Bruce Springsteen
REM
Billy Joel
Garth Brooks
Dave Matthews Band.....

Sorry, I just can't do it.

Styx and REO Speedwagon - both of them can STILL rock!!! :cool1:
