What's the best rock concert you've ever been to ? (Inspired by SPAM)

U2 (the Elevation Tour) was hands down the best live show I've ever been too!! Can't wait to see them again!

I've been to a lot of concerts but I think the best was Def Leppard August 2003 at the Dunkin Donuts Center. I have never seen so many people 'get into' a concert. From the moment the stepped on stage the crowd was up and dancing and singing and never once did they sit down. Usually people mellow out after awhile but not at this concert.

The other best was Paul McCartney because he spoke to me!!! {{{that's my story and I'm sticking to it!}}}}

AC/DC always putting on a killer show!

Other faves:

Aerosmith - loudest~!
Weird Al - most fun
Night Ranger - friendliest (always get to hang out with them)
Journey - gotta say Steve A. has won me over (maybe because he gave me a big hug???)

too many honorable mentions ;)

Motley Crue - Better Live Than Dead tour. I've seen them about 14 times. Saw them on the current tour on Sunday night. It was by FAR the best I've ever seen! They ROCKED DC!!!

The best concert I've ever been to was a Dave Matthews BAnd concert on June 11, 2001 at Giants Stadium.

I was at that show, too! That was the where it started raining at the end, right? He played "The Space Between"?

Although, I've never been to a Dave concert I didn't like, my favorite is Dave Matthews Band in Central Park. Unbelievable show, unbelievable night!!

It's a tie between my very first concert Ratt/Poison and Metallica/Queensryche.

I haven't seen too many big name concerts, but my 3 favorites would be

- Dion (of & the Belmonts fame) at the Power Center in Ann Arbor MI ... Power Center is very much a small venue, and I was expecting to be the youngest person in the audience (I was close, but I think there were a few folks younger than me). I recognized a lot more of his songs than I thought I would, and the crowd really got into it.
- Billy Joel & Elton John at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse NY ... my only true "big name / big venue" concert. Accoustics kinda sucked, but they played a lot of songs, and a lot of crowd favorites
- The "Beach Boys" at the Epcot F&W Festival ... I realize that most of the original band is gone, but the Beach Boys have always been one of my favorite bands, and so I appreciated getting to hear what's left of them in concert.

David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails, 1995. Prick opened, but I was way too amped about the headliners to pay any attention whatsoever.

Get ready to LOL :flower:

See, my first and favorite concert would be The Carpenters!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

But my claim to fame, and thanks to DH, diehard Rocker...

I was at Gerry Garcia's last Greatful Dead concert in Soldier Field!!

:rotfl2: From Carpenters to Dead :rotfl2:

:cheer2:

HEY! I was at that show too - we also went the night before so we ended up leaving early so we wouldn't have to wait for a train. To this day I'm mad I left.

I was also at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last show at Alpine Valley.

Queen - many times in the late 70's and early 80's

Paul Simon - Graceland Tour

Recently - Elton John last year.

Oh, I'm so jealous that you saw Queen. They've been my favorite since I was 12(I'll be 40 next month!) Never had the opportunity to see them live and I don't think their tour this time around will be coming to the states.

Oh, I forgot to add mine.

Saw Creed a couple of times before Scott Stapp started his nonsense, they were awesome.

Also love Tori Amos, saw her a couple of times too!

REM in Athens, GA when I was a freshman at UGA... it was 1984, and they were just starting to get really big. It was a free show in a big field on campus. Wow!

Ray Charles at Chastain Ampitheater in Atlanta... late '80s or early '90s. That man was a musical genius. Just a pure joy listening to him.

Elvis Costello at a small venue in Charlotte, NC... just got home a couple of hours ago! What a GREAT show- a wide range of his music from the last 27 years... awesome! :cool1:

b-52's a few years ago on July 4th.. fabulous show.

U2 (Joshua Tree), Cure (Kiss Me) and one of my favorites Sinead O Connor (Lion and the Cobra tour back in 1989)

Garth Brooks is by far the best performer I have ever seen and I would pay whatever to see him again

Billy Joel comes in a close second - I have seen him several times

in terms of fun - regardless of singing would be Jimmy Buffett - people in Cincinnati are nuts about him - back when I was in high school he could sell out 5 concerts in a row in less than an hour around here - those were great it you remembered it the next day!!

Jimmy Buffett. He is not a rocker, but the parrot heads sure like to party. I have seen it ALL at his concerts! :earseek:

I have 2 favorites -
1 is the 2004 4th of July GooGoo Dolls concert.QUOTE]

I am soooo insanely jealous of you right now! I love Johnny! I've seen them perform quite a few times and they always are fabulous. DH even took me to see them at Roseland in NYC for our 3rd anniversary - what a great guy, huh? :cool1:

Another concert that really stands out is Prince in 2004. I like Prince, not a huge fan though. This concert blew me away. I really think it's the best show I've ever seen.

Other goodies: Aerosmith, Elton John, Billy Joel...
