What's on in Anaheim in December

We have been before for a couple of weeks in December. It was great, up until the week before Christmas where it was a little busier (but still great).

We are looking at going from about the 2nd of December to the 16th/17th December. I'm just looking at different off site hotels and in doing my investigation, Sheraton Park is full, no rooms for my dates at all. Hilton is full, not one room for my dates. HoJo doesn't have entertainment rates for December up, the retro rate is there for most of November, then stops on the 30th November with none in December. So it has me thinking that there might be something big on in early December where it is going to be really busy.
There are rooms at some of the others I have checked, it is just the Sheraton and Hilton that are unavailable.

Anybody know if there is something big on during the first week or two of December?

I don't know of anything major that would fill rooms during that period.

It sounded very suspcious. I am guessing you are looking at a site that resells room and the hotels. I feel the hotals have not sold blocks of rooms at a discount to them to resell to you, yet.

No I was looking direct, on the Sheraton website and on the Hilton website. I then went and checked Expedia out of curiosity to see if they had any rooms (knowing they buy blocks of rooms, so sometimes when you can't get a room at a hotel direct, you can still get them through resellers) but no... Expedia was showing no availability for those dates too. If I booked after the first week/week and a half in December to closer to Christmas then there were rooms at Sheraton and Hilton, but nothing the first week to week & a half of December

I took a look and can find rooms at the other sheraton and the Hilton.

It's possible that the other Sheraton is going to do a rehab.

The Hilton is giving me a rate of $235 a night, which is very high for them. The Doubletree by Hilton on Harbor gives a rate of $145 for their 2 room suite. Embassy Suites is only $109. They usually also have breakfast.

The Residence Inn has rooms starting at $135. The Anaheim Sheraton does seem like there are no rooms, but the Sheraton Park has rooms.

OHHHHH, I had selected aaa rate! I just removed that request and it came up with rooms at Hilton! Sorry!

It's just the Sheraton that's full. It's not a big deal, there are lots and lots of places to stay. I just wondered with there being with no rooms at Sheraton (and at Hilton but now realise it's because I chose the wrong rate) that there may be something big on and we may be better off changing our planned dates (but it's cheaper to fly from Australia early Dec than late Dec and Jan, by about $1000 to $1500 per person)
