In terms of heat and crowds? I had hoped to plan a January trip but may need to go sooner because my DH may be starting a new business. I had picked Jan because DH is not a huge fan of DW because of the heat and crowds. Last trip we went 1st week of Dec. (weather was great for us, crowds OK too) We have 2 DD's 3 & 1. I'm worried about Oct though, we went 2nd week of Sept once and it was VERY HOT!

Thanks!!

You don't say when in October.

We went the last week in October and it was absolutely the perfect weather! The crowds were pretty darn light too!

We loved it!

I went one year from the 24th through the 28th and either the crowds were fairly light or we just had superb timing - when I got back others on this board were complaining about crowds so I'm not sure which it was - BUT we didn't wait more than 15 minutes tops on anything. And the weather was nice....we did have one fairly cool day but other than that we wore shorts. If you choose later October you may want to make sure you take at least one pair of jeans (or long pants) per person and sweatshirt or light jacket.

We went during Oct. one year and loved it. As long as you avoid Columbus day weekend. The weather was perfect. Still warm enough to use the pools but not too hot. The crowds were light therefore lines were short......................

In my opinion Oct could be one of the best times of year to go to WDW. MNSSHP, Epcot Food & Wine Festival. Light crowds and perfect weather 80's and not too humid (could get cool at night though).

We went last October during the second week. The crowds well, there were no crowds but it was humid. The evenings were great for strolling on the Boardwalk! We decided this is a great time to go to WDW!

October is great! It can be a bit rainy, but still warm enough for shorts. Not too hot, not too cold. As far as crowds go, our longest wait for a ride was 30 minutes. And that only happened once. The rest of the time it was all 5-10 minute waits.

Another vote for Oct.! It's warm enough to swim, but it's not deadly hot - perfect! The crowds are light, so you can see the parks in less time instead of driving yourself to the point of exhaustion like in the summer. We'd be going in Oct. instead of May if it didn't mean taking our kids out of school. There is a big golf tournament in Oct., so you might want to avoid that, or at least be aware so you make hotel reservations soon if you're traveling during that. Some on-site properties can sell out during the tournament.
