You can pick up and use the tickets for a package up to 3 days before check-in for that package. You cannot pick them up in a resort - you have to pick them up at guest services. You can do so at guest services outside of any park, or at guest services in Downtown Disney. You will likely have magic bands in hand for the package deal. The person at guest services will simply "activate" the package tickets already listed in
MDE and you can start using the magic bands to enter the parks - again, up to 3 days before your package check-in date. If you prefer, you can ask them to put the tickets on separate media but this is not necessary and it can mess things up, so I wouldn't try it. We and many other folks on the Dis have done this repeatedly. Disney doesn't advertise it, but they do allow it. And you don't have to be staying at a WDW resort ahead of your package deal check-in to do it. They don't ask, and it doesn't matter. Most years we are in Cocoa Beach before our WDW vacation starts but we decide to do a few evenings in the parks before our official stay begins.
