What's in a title anyway? How about 1300 pictures? 4/15/11-> Bonus Section pt1 & 2

Just started reading your report. Wonderful pictures and it sounds like your trip was wonderful as well. Can't wait to hear how it ends. Thanks for sharing.

I was worried, because i've been so busy I couldn't even check in and there have been no more posts!! What's a matter you? Just kidding, I can tell you're just as crazy as me! Looking forward to it when you get a chance (just don't forget about your poor dis friends who hang on your every word!)

I was so ready to get a huge update done tonight but right now I'm stuck at jfk airport waiting to get my truck unloaded. Honestly I'm shocked my phone gets internet where I'm at right now! I promise to make it up as soon as I get a chance :)

I generally lurk on the boards, with an occasional comment. I just wanted to tell you that I have been enjoying your TR - photos & commentary!! :goodvibes I am looking forward to reading & seeing more.

We are also planning our next trip - Oct 20 - 29th, and we will be staying at BCV for the first time!!:cool1: We are definitely looking forward to it.

Of course, with the 25+ inches of snow in NE Oklahoma this month, it is a good thing we have this trip booked. I would have been looking for a spring trip otherwise.

Oh my Dis friends, how good you are to me :worship:

Last night I planned on this mega update that just wasn't meant to be. I was supposed to have it easy at work since I was stuck in New York on Monday but low and behold, as soon as I walked in I was told to head to Virginia :scared1:

I tried to tell dispatch that I am loosing subscribers by the minute but it was to no avail. Right now I'm running on roughly 1 hr and 45 minutes of sleep so now is not the time to get one ready even though my heart aches to post some picture. Heck, if it weren't for spell checker, you probably wouldn't even be able to read this post.

Tonight better be better. This work stuff is cramping my style! Nate is at school and I'm taking Logan in a minute, than I get a full hr and a half nap before I pick him back up. I don't want to make any promises because, well lets look at my history this week and that's why.....but lets just say my fingers will be crossed while typing tonight!

For those of you who should be working but feel like wasting time, I'll offer you this to kill a few minutes. The kids and I were playing around with "Just Dance 2" on the Xbox on our last snow day............ (make sure your sound is on-nothing bad)

I know, it's a cheesy attempt to keep you around but I never said I was above being cheesy :happytv:

The video is too funny! Us Dissers must be a "special" breed!
I've made the same video of soldia boy with 2 of my boys last year! I should post mine too but I'd be too embarressed ! :scared1:

Our family loves to dance and at weddings and socials etc... we are not afraid to get up and show our "moves" ! Our latest dance moves are to Shakira's "waka waka Africa!!" Check that one out on Youtube and maybe nate could learn that one next! I'll stay tuned for it!!

I agree with what you said about work!! I've just gotten back into my full time job after being off for 6 months ( I work term during the busy tax season) and all I can say is I don't know how people manage when they're working full time! It just gets in the way of Life!! :rolleyes1
(and in the way of making and reading TR's)

Well have a good day! Now, that I'm home from the full time job I have to get to the 2nd job which is my home based business! (I have a hair salon in the basement)

Debbie

OMG - those are too cute!!! I can't even tell you which is cuter, cause they are both adorable!

I think I need the Kinect!

popcorn::

Popcorn is starting to get low, Rob!

Gonna get even lower...... pass some over here, will you? popcorn::

I just found your report and got all caught up. If you guys keep talking about all your return trips though, I reserve the right to bow out in a jealous rage.

popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

Loved reading about your foray into stardom! And really enjoyed the AK photos! We just made it back to AK for the 3rd time ever, our first stop there since 2007.......... and it rained most of the day.

Just finished typing up another update in MS Word and it WILL be up this morning. I have to run for a bit but by lunchtime I should have a picture or two up ;)

Hey Rob how you guys doing?

Am all caught up and loving every minute. You guys looked like you were having the time of your lives and the boys are just too cute.

Amazing pictures too, love the FotLK ones, such an awesome show :goodvibes

So cool you are going back in May, bet you can't wait :teeth:

Looking forward to more popcorn:
Hey there Stefy! So far so good just always busy. FotLK was awesome and nothing like what I had expected. The May trip is going to be great and I feel like we all really just need to get away for a bit. April 30th just can't get fast enough! As for the popcorn, I'm thinking of putting cinnamon out with it. Ever try it? No butter just a hint of cinnamon....good stuff!:thumbsup2

So I lied, I started a TR...but more a photo TR that's on the TR boards instead of on the photography board, so more people can join in the fun!

And now, some shameless self-promotion, here is the link to my TR. I hope all your readers come on over!! ;)

A Wordless Report from my Disney Quickie
That's awesome! I had thought of doing the same thing myself before. Not to be creative or anything, I just type really slow (I blame it on being a guy and all :lmao: ) Maybe if you keep pushing out updates, that will distract some of my readers from the fact that it's taken me SOOOOO long to post an update :thumbsup2

Just started reading your report. Wonderful pictures and it sounds like your trip was wonderful as well. Can't wait to hear how it ends. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much! I hope you get to stick around for a while. Of course this trip has a sad ending just like every other ending to a Disney trip.....we came home  BUT, there is a funny story at the end.........:thumbsup2

Blah blah blah ;) Just kidding! I have one right here as a matter of fact....... lets see, do I really want to post it today......hmmmmm.....

popcorn::

Popcorn is starting to get low, Rob!

I'm on it! Phone calls have been made and my popcorn guy is hooking me up and I got a buddy who bar tends stopping by. I'm thinking this is going to require pulling out all the stops :cool2::cool2:

I'm so glad you stopped by and dropped me a line. I'm so jealous about the BCV since we won't be going there this yr:sad2: In my signature, there's a link to my first TR which we did 9 days there. From that vacation on, we were just in love! That place is so amazing, it really is a home away from home for us. Enjoy every single minute you are there and when you walk into the lobby, take a second to just stand there and take it all in. Close your eyes for a second and make a note of the smells there. It's just perfect! PLUS, the Cape May Cafe has character breakfasts and the clam bake every night.......I WANT TO GO HOME!!!!:sad1:

...always patient... :rolleyes1
From now on when I'm not around, I'm leaving you in charge. Lead by example!

Gonna get even lower...... pass some over here, will you? popcorn::

Joey is on his way over with a box truck full of popcorn. Nice guy but a little loose upstairs. I asked him where he gets all his popcorn and he said it fell off the back of a truck. I says to Joey "Ay Joey da popcorn is still on a truck." Joey smiles and asks if I'm sort of a wiseguy or something. I'm starting to think Joey isn't really in the corn popping industry. Either way, he has assured me that all our corn popping needs will be fulfilled for the remainder of the show.

As for bowing out, I'll talk to Joey to see what can be done, but I think once you're in you're in!

I think to say that we are a special bread is the nice way of putting it :rotfl2: I haven't looked up the Shakira video yet but I can tell you that it needs to be a guy singing it or he won't go near it :confused3

With work, things are just so hard right now with Tina and I working different shifts. We see each other for an hour a day if that and talk on the phone for a bit every night before she goes to sleep. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder but it also makes things harder sometimes you know? I have to chuckle sometimes when she comes home and tells me about her day. After being a full time student for the last 2 years, she's just not digging this 40 hrs a week thing :lmao: And to hear her talk about the commute with the traffic....I just tell her that's what normal people do:rotfl2:

But, back to the important topics......you should definitely post a video!!! :rotfl:

OMG - those are too cute!!! I can't even tell you which is cuter, cause they are both adorable!

I think I need the Kinect!

You should! Especially after a drink or two, it so much fun! We got it for Christmas and had everybody over for Christmas Diner. By the end of the night, we were all ready to pass out from either dancing so much, or laughing so hard :cool1::rotfl2:

So, raise your hand if you’re still here! I know it’s been forever but I promise I have not forgotten you all…..I just hope you haven’t all forgotten about me! I see some new faces in the crowd an I must admit I’m a little intimidated by some since I’ve seen their work on the photography boards! If you will all join me in the media room you will notice we have installed foot massagers at the base of each one of your chairs. We have a truck backing up that has several pallets full of unpopped popcorn and as a peace offering, there will be complimentary adult beverages during our next break. Please make sure to have your ID ready as we will not be serving minors nor anyone who is not a member of the Disboards. Now please sit back, turn on your foot massagers, and enjoy the show!

We last left off at Festival of the Lion King which was totally amazing and I can’t wait to go see that again! Nate had enjoyed being part of the show and Logan was wishing he had volunteered.

As we walked out singing the praises of all the actors especially the monkey guys, we ran into some old friends just out enjoying the day.

We (maybe it was just me) gave an enthusiastic wave and told them to be careful out there. The woods can be a dangerous place! Yea, I can be weird in Disney but you have to admit that it is fun right!??!?

So, onto our next first.

DSC_0103.jpg

Now listen, to the guys and gals who have yet to check this show out, before you go judging you need to go see it. 100% awesomeness! Disney has found a way to intrigue all walks of life in this show, whether you have seen the movie or not……but it helps if you have!

I really can’t say enough about the talent that came together here. These actors and actresses belong on Broadway performing to the masses and their names all in lights. Instead they are here, in our home away from home, performing for an intimate crowd with little recognition, and I don’t think they would have it any other way! There were no voiceovers, no lip singing, no special effects, just pure Disney shining from everyone and everything on stage. Here’s what I mean……..

Magical isn’t it?

We left Animal Kingdom that day with a new respect, and a new love, for that park. It definitely climbed up a few spots on my must do list. Not knowing what was going on around each bend or what to expect on each ride was truly amazing, and the performances put out by each and every cast member was nothing short of what Disney prides itself on. I’m looking forward to our next two trips because on each one, there will be company with us who have either never been there or never got the chance to experience half of what we did today and I can’t wait to share it with them.

We headed back to the Beach Club to relax by the pool and just take it all in for a bit. This year I’m hoping to have a waterproof camera to take in with us because it’s killing me not being able to put up more pictures from that night.

Well, there is one more from out back that evening……
DSC_0234.jpg

What better way to end a magical day? It just makes me homesick looking at it. I really can’t wait to go back!

Speaking of not being able to wait….does anyone feel like checking out day 5?

Tuesday November 16th

Day 5

Destination: Disney World!

Der, like you didn’t already know that! So today was the day I had been talking about since I started looking up Disney secrets a few years ago. There was one thing I had always wanted to do but because of late night Extra Magic Hours, sleepy kids, or the occasional late night adult beverage (or seven), I had never been able to experience this first hand. We’ve come close but never quite mad it to……..

Wait for it…….

ROPE DROP!!!!!

DSC_0239.jpg

Yea Yea, I know. How can we be going there so much and never do rope drop! Well, like I said, we had tried in the past but usually miss it by a few minutes. This time however Tina made sure it was going to happen….just for me! How cool is she? I woke up pretty early that morning all excited about going. I grabbed a shower, got dressed, made coffee and sat out on the balcony of our room for a while looking at some pictures from the week so far on my laptop. I felt bad about waking her and the boys up so I let them sleep for a bit. When I went in to lay back down, Tina woke up and hopped right out of bed. I told her I wanted her to rest but she was not hearing it. She knew I really wanted to go so before I could argue, the kids were dressed and eating a cereal bar on our way out the door. Man, do I love this woman!

The park opened at 9am that morning and we were there with 20 minutes to spare. I was so giddy I didn’t even take a picture of the kids half asleep on the bus!

The show began right around 8:50 with the performers at the train station

DSC_0320.jpg

Down the deserted trail…..
DSC_0322.jpg

I was heading for my second “first” of the day. This was something I had never really wanted to go on till I saw some pictures posted by one heck of a photographer. I don’t want to embarrass that person in case she still stops back over here to catch up. *Cough* Ann*Cough.* You see, from the outside, it just looked like another ride you can get on at any old amusement park, I had no idea what all went on inside. No it’s not…..
DSC_0327.jpg

It was…….drumroll………

DSC_0330.jpg

Now the park had only been open for a whole 10 minutes but it already said that standby was a 30 minute wait. I wasn’t buying it. Especially with a little chill in the air, there was no way going to be a 30 minute wait!!!!

Tina thought I was nuts going on it right away so I left her with the boys as I stepped inside. I had made the right call, there was NOBODY in there. I loved going in for the first time all alone because I could take my time while taking pictures!!!!

Here’s what I saw…….

As I was walking around in amazement with my camera’s shutter going crazy, there was an older couple who came up behind me and I waved them on by. The refused and told me they were just taking their time. We spoke for a bit and they watched as I stopped every few feet trying to stay perfectly still to get a half decent picture. They told me that they have been coming here for years together and every time they go, they must do the log flume together on their first day. They were by far the cutest couple I had ever come across. I hope one day Tina and I can walk hand in hand and melt the heart of some stranger the way that those two did for me that day.

The three of us went to the next log together and all got on. They went to the back bench while I went to the front. It took everything I had to respect their privacy and leave them alone. Looking back, I really wish I had “accidently” turned around and taken their picture, they were just so sweet together.

As for the ride……

Now real quick, remember that cute couple in the back row? The ones that melted my heart when they shared their story? They also saved my butt! After going down that drop my hat flew off! I think it may have gone right into the lady’s chest but before it could go any further, the gentleman grabbed it for me! What a guy! He told me later on that his son (if I remember correctly) had worn a hat on his first time in Disney World. His first time on Tower Of Terror, the hat flew off and out the top window! He put in a claim at lost and found and several weeks later the hat was mailed to his house. The funniest part? It was a Universal Studios hat!!!

Sorry, got a little sidetracked :o)
