What's in a title anyway? How about 1300 pictures? 4/15/11-> Bonus Section pt1 & 2

Don't apologize for the delay between updates! Us DISers will definitely stick around. :thumbsup2

I love your attraction photos! And on a cloudy February day here in the Midwest, I look at them and pretend I'm in beautiful Disney riding the rides! :goodvibes

You guys are aces in my book:thumbsup2

I do the same thing while writing my report! The only downside is the day after you finish writing it, you get that same feeling in your stomache as the day you had to check out from your hotel:sad1:

Unless of course there's another trip planned right around the corner!!!!!

From now on when I'm not around, I'm leaving you in charge. Lead by example!

I will prove to be a worthy stand-in leader :thumbsup2

Agree, agree, agree, A-GREEE! Nemo is amazing, I saw it for the first time this past October and was just amazed! I have no shame, we're all friends here - I cried a little bit at that one! Love it and can't wait to do it again!!!

I am also a virgin log rider - HEY-O that came out wrong... I haven't done any Disney mountains... yet! Hell or high water I am doing at least Splash and Big Thunder - maybe Everest... maybe.

Ahh Rope Drop... what a dream... Next time I will make it to one! And while we're all dreaming and planning - can I just say out loud that I would love to be family of the day. Or by saying it aloud does that disqualify me, cause if so then I take it back!

Great updates - great pictures! Always ready for more! :surfweb:

I enjoyed your Nemo photos too Rob! We finally saw it in December and I was so surprised at how much we enjoyed it. We've seen the movie, but are pretty "bleh" about most Pixar things. :scared1: We're still singing the songs here. It was fun to live through it again with your TR! :thumbsup2

FINALLY! took all day but got all caught up!
here are my 2 cents from what the i remember of the last 2 days:

1. Never been on EE, im terrifed, but i MUST ride next trip!
2. LOVE DINOSAUR
3. Havent seen Nemo, but that's def. on my list next trip!

4. I have planned an early breakfast for EMH the day I go to Magic Kindgom so I'll def. be there for rope drop! ECSTATIC about that! Quick question...if theres EMH, will the whole ceremony be performed at 8 or 9? Would love to get good pics of the castle alone but I would like to see the ceremony too...either way I live here so I can def. pop in any time to actually catch the show.
5. Splash Mountain is a SKIP for me...terrified of log flumes/big drops. I may ride later on but who knows. Depends who im with and how im feeling...this solo trip will NOT be that time! lol

Love you TR and def. tuning in! lol

Still here myself. I love, LOVE The Finding Nemo musical. I sit on the edge of my seat the hole time and have to remind myself to breath. Thanks for all the great picutres. It gets me all excited for our May trip coming up. :cool1:

Loved the update, and dont worry im sticking around till the very end..Popcorn or no popcorn :rotfl:You have an adorable family and your boys are way too cute.. I checked out them dancing videos... adorable

:yay::banana::dance3: I get so excited for people when it gets close to their departure date! Enjoy every minute of it!

Rope drop-rides for a few hrs-lunch at the hotel with a pool break- Parks again around diner till close......the secret to success!

Will there be a trip report? I just saw you have one already for March that I'm going to head over to check out. I always wanted to go down in Feb/March.....how was the crowd level?

I get excited for other peoples trips too, that why I read so many trip reports, LOL.

I'll probably do a trip report. I had a lot of fun writing the last one. And it will be nice to look back on it in a few years when some of the memories start fading and say "Oh yeah, look what we did".

For March, the crowds are definitely there, but it's spring break so we expect it. I wish I could go during a slower time but with my DS being in 4th grade I just don't want to take him out of school for a week. The great thing about being there in March is the weather. It is gorgeous! The mornings tend to be a little chilly but a light jacket is all you need. The afternoons are warm and wonderful!:cloud9:

I'm kicking myself for not finding this report sooner! Our last trip to Disney was less than magical because of some grumpy family members throughout the whole trip so I've been craving another trip already (even though that last one was less than a year ago!). Thank you so much for your pictures and story. I love being able to relive my own trips through someone else's! Can't wait for the next update! :cloud9:

Really? Not a fan of Pixar????:scared1: How? But... Oh I give up!

No, seriously I am a big fan of theirs from way back when. Ever since I was able to use Maya (the software they were making the cartoons with) I realized just how talented those folks really are. I was so happy when the teamed up with Disney but I'm a little surprised that that haven't had any films that are bigger than what they have already. I think the talent has always been there on both sides but something just isn't coming together as much as it could....know what I mean?

1. It is intense, make no mistake about it but SO MUCH FUN. Do a little research about it. They put so much into the making of that ride that if you know a little about it, you might appreciate a little more!
2. That was better than I thought it would have been! Nearly impossible to catch a good picture BUT a great ride none the less!
3. absolutely 100% a must see. I had this big goofy grin on my face the entire time. I'm such a nerd :lmao:
4. From what I hear, it would be at 8 but they don't always do the whole show for rope drop.....sometimes nothing at all:confused3
5. You never know. You might just want to hop on with the camera and go to town! A solo trip would be perfect because there really is some great photo opportunities if you have the time to stand around and do so!

Still here myself. I love, LOVE The Finding Nemo musical. I sit on the edge of my seat the hole time and have to remind myself to breath. Thanks for all the great picutres. It gets me all excited for our May trip coming up. :cool1:

:rotfl2: One day I'm going to tell them that I posted those videos on the net.....maybe when they have their first girlfriend over for dinner. At least I was nice enough to remind them to put pants on:lmao:

Your trip is right around the corner :yay: I LOVE going in May. It can be a little hot but it's usually beautiful weather down there. One good part about US going in May, is that this Trip Report has to be OVER by then!

I get excited for other peoples trips too, that why I read so many trip reports, LOL.

Sounds perfect except for the crowds! I always forget that other schools have Spring Break at different times. Ours here starts April 16th. I wish we could get my cousin to go with us but she is a teacher and just can't take the time off:sad2: For the next few years, as long as the kids are doing very well in school, I'd rather pull them for a few days. I know soon enough they will be at a point where missing a few days in a row will hurt their grades so I want to enjoy it while we can.

As for the TR.....just do it! It's so much fun! The adult beverages are going over well and that guy over there fell asleep with the foot massager running. I sprayed him with Lysol earlier this morning. I figure he needs his rest. Maybe 15minutes before the next update my plan is to wake him up and see how long it takes for him to get to the restroom. :rotfl2:

I hope his legs aren't going to be asleep :scared1:

Well that just stinks! One or two sour apples can ruin the whole basket! I've always been the guy in the family who always tried to keep the peace and make sure everyone was having a good time, BUT now that I have my own little family and the vacations are coming out of my own pocket, I set up the ground rules ahead of time:thumbsup2 A Disney trip costs so much money and the expectations are so high, that I can't afford to let someone else bring any of us down. The parks are big and there's more than one.....be a pain and I'll see ya at the hotel later on tonight!

At first I didn't want to seem mean, but after while it's kind of fun being the boss :rotfl2: Eventually everybody falls in line and sees that my way has the most fun crammed into that little window we call a vacation:laughing:

Anywho, I'm glad you made your way over and I hope you can stick around. We're about 1/2 way into the week but we still have over double the amt of stuff to do!:woohoo:

You.

What am I gonna do with you?:confused3

You know what I mean. :teacher:

Na seriously, last night I was a few hrs out on a run and just miserable. I walked into this warehouse and had a look on my face that made the guy there walk on eggshells. He had to go check something in the back so I pulled out my phone and read this message. THANK GOD I wasn't drinking a cup of coffee or anything because it would have gone out my nose and all over their nice clean dock. When he came back out to where I was I just got done laughing and had a big grin on my face....I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm bi-polar now :lmao:

b/t/w
I edited your last statement so now it doesn't count! Good luck!
I think you need to be there at LEAST 1/2 early for them to pick you!

Great update, finally!! (Just kidding, well sort of).
First thing is, where in the world (or should I say kingdom) are those adorable Mickey, etc characters that are fishing? Are they near the exit to Lion King? We have never seen them and I definitely want to.
We did the Nemo show for the first time this last trip and loved it. Haven't gotten to Lion King yet, next trip for sure.
I LOVE Spalsh Mountain but only do it about 25% of the time because it isn't always warm enough to want to get wet. (Need to bring some ponchos next time, and try to bribe my DS7 to get on).
Tell your friend I said he's being a little stingy on the yummy in the adult drinks!

I know I know...I hope this week should be better. I really need to bang some more updates out ASAP.
I hope someone will speak up if I'm wrong, but I think Mickey was fishing near the exit for Lion King but go away from discovery island toward the snack stand where they sold root beer floats.

Ponchos are the way to go with splash mountain but make sure they go all the way down to your ankles. We had 2 different kinds that week and the smaller one wasn't long enough to keep my belt dry!:rotfl2:

Loving your Nemo photos. I thought it was an ok show, but it didn't wow me as much as FotLK. I did love Big Blue World song though, really cute :)

Don't you just love rope drop, love the Welcome Medley song really gets you going :goodvibes

Love the SM photos, you were brave taking those awesome shots just before the drop :teeth:

Wow. I can't believe I just read this entire thread in one sitting. Great trip report, thanks so much! I'm getting so excited, if the kids could just get rid of this stomach bug and ear infection (hence the sitting on the couch all day reading your trip report). Great pictures, I really felt like I was there! THanks for making this waiting even more unbearable! Just kidding.

CHEATER!!!!
Just Kidding. Anyone is more than welcome as long as it's just for personal reasons. If someone's making $$$, I need a little piece of that....daddy needs some faster lenses!!!!:rotfl2:

FYI!! I did some printing of your photos today along with some that I've copied from another thread and it is amazing the quality that I got!! :thumbsup2
I wasn't sure how they would print out.

My friends are going to think I take awesome photos!! ;)

No worries..... I won't be making any money off your photos but I will have some nice shots to pick from for my scrapbooking!! :cloud9:

Eventually, when I get a page done, I'll take a picture of it and post it!!

Thanks again, your photos have really helped me out!

Hi! Thanks for a wonderful trip report! I'm really enjoying it! I'm from not too far from you, in Allentown, PA.

I'm planning a trip for almost the exact same time next year: Nov 11 to 18. Please forgive me if you've answered these questions elsewhere, but I'm hoping you can tell me...

How was the weather? I'm surprised how many other people in your photos have jeans on!

How were the lines? It sounds like almost everything was a walk on!

Did you bring your own stroller or rent one from Magic Strollers or someplace similar? It looks very nice, but was it hard getting it onto and off of the buses?

I love that your boys wear matching outfits in WDW--I've already started planning my sons' outfits. They will be 6 and 4 when we go.

Thanks again so much for a great report! Jennifer

If I had to choose one, either Nemo or Linon King I don't know which way I'd go because they are each very cool in different ways I think. I guess it would depend on the mood I was in but if it's a high excitement kind of day, definitely Lion King!

Rope drop is awesome! I'm looking at the week we are going in May and there's only one late night which I think we may skip just so we can hit rope drop every morning. I know that everything sounds good on paper, but It would be awesome if it happens!

Big plastic bags are great for that! I had a $3 plastic sleeve that wraps around the camera and lens but it doesn't make it waterproof! Going down the drop, I had a gift bag on my lap that I threw it into at the last second. I'm thinking I may take in on again this trip but with a different lens. I'm sure I can get some better pictures with me 35mm 1.8 lens :thumbsup2 Hopefully it works out but only time will tell:surfweb:

Awe, now that just stinks! Poor kids and poor you! I hope everybody feels better soon! That was a lot to go through in one sitting! I hope you stick around for a bit because there's still more to come! (tonight?)

My pleasure!!! I'm glad they came out OK:thumbsup2 Guess what I got in the mail this weekend? A save-the-date for my cousin's wedding. She had asked me to take some pictures for her and her fiance's engagement at a local park. One of those pictures was the one she used for the Save The Date card :dance3: I loved it! Just seeing one of my pictures in print really gave me a big head :woohoo: She said people were asking if she paid a photographer to come out to her house near the woods and do a shoot:rotfl2: So, when you get a page done, I DEFINITELY want to see one!!!!:cool1:

Subbing, so i can finish out your posts
Get comfy....they are coming! :thumbsup2

Not too far at all! In fact I'm in Allentown pretty often for work right around Rt 100 and Rt22. Hope you weren't affected by that explosion last week!

The weather was great You could wear jeans or shorts in the morning but there was a little chill in the air when you first wake up. Personally, I don't like being cold AT ALL so I'd say shorts and a sweatshirt if you wake up before the sun does. By 10am, you'll be in shorts and a tank top. When the sun goes back down, jeans and a t-shirt. If you want to walk around the lake taking pictures at 3am, jeans and a sweatshirt. I guess you really need to pack for everything but it was so worth it. We all really loved the weather 100%!

The lines were amazing....as in non-existent! Of coarse there was a line for Soarin and Toy Story Mania, but for everything else if we waited 10 minutes that was the longest.

The stroller is ours. Tina got it on Amazon for maybe $150 I think? I'll double check with her if you'd like (right now she's sleeping) but it is worth EVERY penny. The large wheels of jogging stroller let you push it through the parks with 2 fingers. By the end of the day you aren't tired and all your stuff is in the baskets at the bottom so you feel great. However, the busses can get tricky. It does fold up but it is very bulky. One thing that we aren't good at is talking everything out of the bottom before taking it on the bus. If you are diligent with doing that, it's not horrible but it's still tricky sometimes. It will slide under seats but it sticks out so no one can sit there. On a full bus I take it to the back doors and stand there with it folded and propped against the walls. I'll try to take some pics of it on the busses when we go this year.

As for the matching outfits for the boys, Tina found some cool things on Disney's web page in the clearance section for really good prices. Also, if you head over to Best Buy or Walmart, you can get printable iron-on paper. You print whatever you want using your home printer, cut it out, and iron it on. Easy and simple ;)

Loving the TR! Your photos are fabulous :)

Thank you very much! Hope you have room for more....still plenty left:thumbsup2
