I went to make ADRS today for our first MK day and there is not a single reservation in MK all day long. I've never seen this before. Does anyone have an idea whats going on that day? Do I need to switch days around?

If it's a glitch, it's been going on for a few days. I have a feeling it may be plans for another 24 hour event but who knows.

You are a few days early to make reservations. May 23 will open for online reservations on November 24 (next Monday). Online reservations will open at 6:00 AM Eastern Time. If you log into My Disney Experience to take a look at restaurant availability - pick one that's open every day and not very crowded, and you should see that the latest day in the calendar year you should be able to make reservations for is May 20. If you're staying at a Disney resort, you'll be able to (on November 24), make reservations for your first day at the resort (May 23) plus the 10 days after that, until early June.

I know I could not get my first ADR for our arrival on May 13 until November 14. It was an early (but fun!) morning. :)

I hope that helps - but I believe that's the answer to your question.

Why would that preclude being able to make ADRs?

Because they are waiting to finalize plans. I do not know why Disney does what it does. Just saying it's possible they are waiting for an event and it's really not a glitch.

Not if they are doing 180 + 10 for resort guests. Those checking in earlier should be able to make reservations including that day. I suppose we will really see when it reaches 180.

I am within my 180 day window for my trip and I booked BOG for May 22nd and when I put in MK for May 23rd nothing is avaialble??? The 24th lots show up?

So something is up.:confused3

The past two years the 24 hour kick off was always the Friday morning at 6am of Memorial day weekend and the ended on Sat morning at 6am and all restaurants where open for ADR's?? This does not make sense.:scared:

Hope it opens up soon for everyone?:goodvibes

well this year may 23rd-24th fell on memorial day weekend and thats when disney had their 24 hour rock your disney side celebration.

perhaps disney plans on doing another 24 hour celebration may 23rd-24th since once again it will fall on memorial day weekend.

even if disney does not do another 24 hour celebration that is memorial day weekend so its bound to be crowded anyways.

We are staying on site from the 20th to the 27th so my ADRS for my whole trip opened today. I have reservations at other restaurants now on that day its just something with in the MK.

Ahhhh.... I misunderstood. I thought your arrival day was the 24th. This is very interesting indeed. I hope something awesome is happening that day. Have a great trip! :thumbsup2

I'm in the same boat - can't find anything for May 23, but I was able to book for the 24th and 22nd. I get that what Disney does doesn't always make sense, and that maybe they're eating to finalize some special event plans before opening ADRs for Saturday, May 23.

However, everything I've read says that for the past 2 years, the 24 hour event has taken place from Friday morning at 6 am and lasted until Saturday morning at 6 am. So why would an event that takes place mostly on Friday affect ADRs on Saturday?

That is what I said too...Plus over the last two years you could always still make ADR's on the 24 hour days??? Wonder if they are planning something different for this one???:confused3

Guess we will find out???

We check in on May 21st and I want to go to the 24 hour party. Made an ADR for the 22nd at BOG. Hope it works out...popcorn:: Stay tuned I guess.
