Good weather here today so I am in my flip flops and capri's today. Wore my jacket out of the house this morning thinking it would probably be a little chilly but was roasting.

We lost power a few times and got TONS of hail but it was just pea sized so hopefully didn't do too much damage. We now have a 3rd car so one had to sit on the street. We'll go out later and see if we can tell how bad it is.

It looked like snow in my backyard!

I think I might follow Lauren's thought and do take out tonight. I think Ross has shared his cold with me as I have that scratchy throat feeling this morning, and I woke up with my "friend".....TGIF,

Morning all! Don't think I posted yesterday, but the Szcheuan Spicy Noodles were a hit. Last night's dinner was Kathy's Saucy Beef. This was a winner in our house. My sis was trying to figure out how much more she could eat, but save DH a little for when he got home from work. And how easy!!!

Tonight is a work dinner with DH. Usually they have nice outings for the employees and spouses, but tonight, not so much. It's a dinner theater place, and in theory, should be fine. But it's a buffet (also caters to the charter bus crowd ) and NO ALCOHOL. I can't even make it throug dinner with a glass of wine. Send happy thoughts my way--I might just have to eat before we go.

Recipe for the Spicy Noodles please!! So glad y'all enjoyed the Sauce Beef. No wine with dinner is a rough one for me too - good luck.

Has anyone heard from Janice and the rest of our IL friends? There was an earthquake and I am worried that it may have been near them.

She posted earlier that she didn't feel anything where she is.

Yesterday is was BEA-UTIFUL outside, so I get the brilliant idea of put on my bathing suit and going out on the back porch to read awhile.

Lauren- the balsamic potatoes came out great, I had the leftovers for lunch yesterday and they tasted even better the next day

Tonight we are having ribs, carrots with a little cinnamon and maple syrup, bread maker whole wheat bread with honey butter, and maybe a bean salad from Trader Joe's.

I am fine. Just a few things are rearranged in my house. Poor Athena(cat) is not happy she was hiding not making her usual squawking. She scares very easily. Alex said just before he went to school she started to come out of hiding.

I must of really needed some sleep, I got Bob off to work & went back to bed. I didn't wake up until after 11:00!!! And I planned on getting so much done today.

Janice, Glad everything's okay over there! It sounds really scary!

Aimmee, Glad you're alright too! Is your car messed up from the hail?

Chris talked to the pediatrician yesterday. If she continues to complain or starts running fever again they will start looking for something in the gastro-tract. So we are really praying that it just clears up on it's own. Her teachers told me that she only complained once during school yesterday, but continued to play & acted fine. The dr just said keep an eye on her over the weekend & get back to her on Monday.

Last night's dinner was italian sausage cooked with swiss chard, fennel, mushrooms in a saffron tomato sauce. I served it over a three cheese polenta. Alexis was helping though, so I cooked the chard a bit too long. I also didn't have any yellow corn meal for polenta so I used the white corn meal, it worked fine. Here's a pic, sorry it's a little blurry, I really need a tri-pod.

Don't know if I'm going to cook tonight or do take out. I have a gazillion things to get done, ugh laundry. Tomorrow we have one of our Niece's 1st communion, Bob's godchild. I think we'll need clean clothes for that!

Yep, we're good. Haven't been able to examine his truck much yet for damage.

My dogs ate most of our hail - they LOVE ice!

I wondered about you. The storm came by much later at our house. They did stop Jake's baseball game right before the end, as lightening was within 8 miles. We didn't get the grapefruit-sized hail that some people reported, just nickel-sized for us and I didn't hear any windows break.

We were miserable at the game, as the wind was blowing so much dust it almost looked like fog in the lights. Andrew is supposed to have a game tonight, so if it's not too wet it should be much more pleasant than last night's game.

WFD? Probably tamales I'll pick up from Central Market so we can eat before the game.

Tonight is another retreat with the kids - we're talking about the parables. And that means Taco Bueno night for me! Plus it'll be gorgeous out there this weekend, though it's still too chilly for swimming. I can't wait for summer!

Liam and Caili were so surprised to see him when they got out of school yesterday. They both ran and jumped into his arms. It was terrific.

Anyway, between Greg being here and school vacation next week, I may not be on as often, but I will try to check in with everyone when I can. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Don't worry about us! Just enjoy this special time together and please tell Greg thank you for me. I cannot say how grateful I am that he is there to protect us and keep us safe. I saw Timmy's pictures and somehow the whole thing is way different than on TV news. More appreciation to our servicemen and women after those eyeopeners.
