This is a really simple tomato soup, just a little butter, an onion, some chicken stock and canned tomatoes, plus salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar all blended together. The green stuff is spinach--I sauteed a huge handful of it seperately, then chopped it and added it into the soup with a glug of cream at the very end. Since you have a sore throat, you have to ignore the sandwich to the right, but for everyone else, that is a grilled sharp cheddar/aged gouda sandwich on anadama bread. There's fruit chutney on the sandwich too. Yum!

Your soup looks wonderful! I'm going to have to dig out my recipe for tomato basil parmesan soup! It's DH's favorite, but it's a bit labor intensive. Maybe this weekend will be the time.

Happy Day, Lindsay!!

Things here are hectic once again. I started my morning by laying off 15 people - always a great way to begin a day. Now I have 15 hours of work to get done in 8 hours, plus yet ANOTHER meeting tonight that is sure to be a bloodbath (oh, the stuff I have learned...)

Dinner will be on the run between meetings. Thanks for continuing to keep our church in your thoughts and prayers.

Hey you guys. I'm alive. I'm on late because...

Today is my anniversary!!!!
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

So we slept in, hee hee hee.

Today we are going to T.G.I. Friday's to have a Jack Daniel's steak. A-woo-hoo!!! Later we are coming home, watching a WDW planning video, and calling to make our reservations. Cool day, eh?

WFD at your house?

Sounds like a perfect day, Lindsay! Happy Anniversary!!! Hope you and your husband have a wonderful celebration!

I like it when you are happy! Your posts are so cheerful. We've been a bit worried about you lately. Take care!!! Enjoy your day!

Dinner tonight is chicken tenders with lemon spaghetti. Fast, easy and yummy!!!

Not much on the table today. The kids are heading out the door, and DH and I are home alone. Hmmm, think we can come up with something to keep us occupied?;)

Hi everybody! Things have been CRAZY here. The wedding is in 8 days so I have been trying to get all the last minute details hammered out. We also had a bad electrical storm that blew out our broadband box AND our router. Blah!

So for tonight's dinner I am making pot roast in the slowcooker. We try to eat low carb so there are no potoes. Instead there is Celery, Carrots, turnips, one tomato and onions. I poured over some beef broth, minced garlic, salt and pepper and a drizzle of evoo. I seared the beef all around on the stove first with some S&P and italian spices, then placed on top in the crockpot and set it for 8 hours. It smells good already!

Laura, Great idea to get the stuffed shell taste without out the work!:thumbsup2 Did the kids eat it, with the ricotta in there?

:lmao: No. They get mad when I use the same spoon to stir the sauce and the pasta (which I do anyway, and even more if they've been aggravating me...:rolleyes1 ). Whenever I make pasta, they have theirs plain with olive oil and parmesan and I put stuff on mine.

I must have thin blood, I am always freezing.

Me too. I hope the garage door installation goes quickly.

Glad to hear from you Gretchen!

Happy Anniversary, Lindsay!

Pot roast is a popular meal on here today. That is what I am making as well. I don't know if the kids will eat it. I am making it in my new slow cooker (another Internet purchase from when Caili was sick  ) so maybe they will like it better. We'll see. If not, there is always cheese in the refrigerator.

So, I have to share...I have a bunch of characters coming here to do work...so the garage door comes and I ask his name. He says "Gorgeous Joe"! :rotfl: I told him I have an ex named Joe and he thinks he a comedian too! Only me.

Lindsay--Happy Anniversary! Hope you and your DH have a wonderful day celebrating together

Not sure wfd as we're heading to my parents after DD's dance class. I'm sure it will a convenience food of some sort--my mom has pretty much given up actual cooking:rolleyes:

Okay, friends, now that the kiddies are in school and can't spy, I have a confession to make. (This isn't food related, so feel free to skip)

I am the world's worst Tooth Fairy. Caili lost her third tooth last night, put it under her pillow and guess who forgot all about it? :wave2: Not only that, but after she went to bed, I put a dollar on the table to help me remember, so when the kids got up, the dollar was on the table (sitting next to my open wallet  ) and the tooth was still under the pillow. Despite all of this, the kids STILL thought the tooth fairy left the dollar on the table and of the tooth Caili said, "I guess the tooth fairy didn't want a bloody tooth."

Not only am I the world's worst tooth fairy, but I have the world's most gullible kids!

I also have to say, this is not the first time I have forgotten. I completely forgot about one of Liam's teeth once (it fell out right before bed, so Liam chalked it up to him not making the list for that night) and I did the switch with another tooth in the morning before the tooth fairy was remembered.

One of these days they will figure out that the forgetful tooth fairy is just their forgetful mom! :upsidedow

I once told Alex the reason the tooth fairy didn't come 'cause she called in sick.

Angelhalo, I'm surprised that with the wedding so close, you have even a moment for cooking! Good Luck with everything, I hope it all goes smoothly!:wizard:

Laura, Believe me you are definitely not the only Mom who's forgotten the tooth fairy! One time, my DD woke up & was quite upset that the tooth fairy had forgotten her. I had the money sitting on top the kitchen counter. I discreetly grabbed it & suggested we go look in her bed, that maybe the money had gotten lost in the sheets. Sure enough, there it was near the bottom of the bed! ;)

I am sooooo stressed and exhausted. But, it's all starting to come together.

This is my first time using my new crockpot, so I'm excited about that.

Laura, your tooth story issues just gave me a big goofy smile!

That is exactly what happened! Now Luke and I both have colds too.

Feel better soon!

So we slept in, hee hee hee.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Happy Anniversary! I was thinking this morning that if we had our old thread I was going to quote your last anniversary but now I don't have to! So......Go back to sleep ;)

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Happy Anniversay Lindsay! Sounds like a great day! We just received the new planning DVD in the mail last week. The boys sat & watched the WHOLE thing in one sitting! The rest of the day was filled with..."can we go back on this?", "will I be tall enough to ride that?", "hey, that was fun - I want to do that again", "can we spend the whole summer there?" :upsidedow

Kady does this every day. She is working on her Pa who will not commit to a trip so this morning she was discussing the "vegetable ride" and the restaurant that turns and how she wanted to go back there...huh Pa?

Nancy, Buddy had better tread carefully. The capers might have to come out of the pantry again! :lmao:

I had forgotten the capers, they are the heavy artillery :woohoo:

Sorry I've missed everyone else, I just wanted to do a quick post to let everyone know I'm alive. We're just swamped right now at work and I don't have time to breathe, much less Dis. I hope to catch up on everyone this weekend.

Sorry.

Are you kidding me? It's a wonder you come up for air this time of year. We'll see you after tax season, just try to get some rest.

I feel so badly. This has been a trying time for you.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: At least you only forgot the tooth. I have on occasion forgotten the kids:blush: If Marisa ever wants to tell tales out of school I am in trouble :faint:

I once told Alex the reason the tooth fairy didn't come 'cause she called in sick.

:rotfl2:

Stephanie- You are in my thoughts this week.

Dinner tonight is very simple. Marisa said she has played fast and loose with her points today and has 7 left for dinner. She wants Subway and I was not hard to convince. She will pick it up later so I have nothing to do but eat my sweet onion chicken teriyake when I get home from my aunts.

Buddy's aunt has an appointment with the Dr this afternoon. I am waiting to hear how she makes out, I have not seen her since the fall as she is not up to anyone coming by yet. She cannot lay down so she is confined to sitting upright in a chair, so not much sleep for her. Her DD says that she cannot stand much commotion so she sits still with her eyes closed. Dan went over to help her down two stairs today, they are so afraid that she may fall and if that happens the consequences are horrible.

Nancy - Praying for good news on Buddy's aunt. Poor thing, having to sleep sitting up.:sad1: I love the sweet onion chicken teriyaki too, just had one at the airport last week!

DH emailed me and said he wants pasta like Laura made last night--with tomatoes and ricotta. So that's what I will make, along with garlic bread and a salad.

Happy Anniversary Lindsay!

She is not going to have it easy but she will not complain, not one word. II love her dearly and hate that this happened to her.

I am getting the sweet chicken thing as well, I like it a lot! Buddy is going to have......wait for it........wait for it........Tuna :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I will pick up a baked potato from Wendies for my Aunt. She has gotten strange about her food lately and I know she will eat this.

Tonight I made Bobby Flay's Pork Gyros with Yogurt-Tomato Sauce and pita chips with white bean hummus.
