Actually my DH is a bit of a pill about his food lately. For a man who lived on hot dogs and spaghetti with a jar of sauce he know, I have to put some thought into it.

Johnny has become the same way, maybe it comes with age. The way I describe what he likes is "Paw Paw" food - soups, stews, rice & gravy.....:sad2:

We just ordered our stone veneer for the fireplace. This is what we picked (weather ledge prestige color):

It's very pretty!:thumbsup2

I got a PM from Wendie this morning, she wanted me to pass on that she won't be around for a few days. She was home alone this morning when her mother arrived in the mail and she is pretty shaken. Please pray for her at this very difficult time.

I'm still hanging around ya'll. Just not cooking much. DS is having some pretty bad constipation issues, so I've just been trying to load him up with fiber--pretty much forgetting about real cooking for the rest of the family. We are heading to a super bowl party tomorrow at our neighbors. Don't know the menu, as it's a potluck. Neighbor's are grilling and providing the wine:thumbsup2 I'm making my "Wings In a Bowl" dip. I wanted to try something new, but it was requested by the party host.

Wendie--Please know that we are thinking of you!:grouphug:

Is there any word on whether the other thread, or at least the recipes, will be back or not?

I don't post in often at all but sure do use and love the recipes.

I actually wondered also if any of you have the Italian Chicken Recipe that is for the slow cooker. I know it has Chive Cream cheese, Italian dressing packets, and Golden Mushroom soup in it.

Thanks Ladies :)

I hope this is it.

Crockpot Italian Chicken: page 36, posted by LindsayDunn228
1 package chicken tenders cut into bite-sized pieces
1 can cream of mushroom soup
4 oz. cream cheese
¼ cup butter, melted
1 .7 oz packet dry Italian dressing mix
½ cup white wine

Put chicken in bottom of Crockpot. Mix soup, cream cheese, butter, and Italian dressing together. Pour over chicken. Top with white wine.

Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Serve over angel hair pasta.

Mmm mmm mmm! It tastes similar to chicken alfredo

Wendie I wish there was some magic to make this go faster and easier for you. Unfortunetly there is not all I can offer is  and prayers for you if you need us we are here for you anytime.

I am thinking about going to IHOP for some pancakes. Yummy!

I don't know what we are going to do for dinner tonight. My shift at my Aunt's is 5 to 7 so that is not convenient for any meal here. I don't know what we are going to do, she has slipped in and out of dementia so much this last three weeks. There is a family issue here as well and it is not looking pretty. Anyway, if you can spare a prayer for a lovely lady I would appreciate it.

You have all my prayers and good thoughts!

Then, dinner. Here is DH's plate--mustard coated roast pork, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. Comfort food:

I will get caught up on the thread later, right now I have to go and start my super bowl menu prep! Did everyone post what they are making? Here's my menu:

buffalo chicken dip
guacamole
lemon-thyme marinated chicken skewers with peanut dipping sauce
queso dip
vegetarian egg rolls
chicken-vegetable potstickers
filo cups stuffed with asian-style beef salad
spinach-artichoke dip
garlic and breadcrumb marinated shrimp skewers
parmesean-stuffed bacon wrapped dates on skewers
mini-linguica sausages, rolled in brown sugar, wrapped in puff pastry, baked and skewered
mini pancakes topped with smoked salmon, cream cheese, and chives
filo cups with tuna avocado tartar
potato skins

I am making too much food. AGAIN! :upsidedow

Wow! Have you posted the recipe for the mustard coated pork? That looks amazing!!!

Superbowl here is an interesting thing. DH and several of the men in our neighborhood will gather together to watch the game. I'm making buffalo chicken dip and clam dip as my contributions to it. While they watch the game, the wives get together at another house and watch chick movies. I've made a bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough to take to that. Nope, not cookies, but the dough. Got to have that while watching chick flicks!

Thank you all for the prayers.

Does anyone have the recipe for the chicken nachos cooked in the Crockpot? I think they are lime chicken.
I promise, if Webmaster Alex gives us back the thread even for two days, I will copy and paste all of the recipes, just like I started. I miss my page one :guilty:

Yes. Here you go:

Lime Chicken Nachos/Tacos

1 1/2 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
3 Tbs. lime juice
1 Tbs. chili powder
1 C. frozen corn
1 C. chunky salsa

Place chicken in slow cooker. Combine lime juice and chili powder; pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or until chicken is tender. Remove chicken; cool slightly. Shred and return to the slow cooker. Stir in corn and salsa. Cover and cook on low for 30 minutes or until heated through. Serve in tortillas or over nacho chips.

Last time I also added a can of black beans rinsed and drained. Yummy!

I've got one that's similar. I'll get caught up and if I don't see it, I'll post the one I have.

Here's the Italian chicken recipe that I have:

Creamy Italian Chicken

4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix
1/4 C. water
1 pkg. (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1 can (4 oz) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
Hot cooked rice or noodles

Place the chicken in a slow cooker. Combine salad dressing mix and water; pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours. In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and soup until blended. Stir in mushrooms. Pour over chicken. Cook 1 hour longer or until juices run clear. Serve over rice or noodles.

Whagt did you decide to do for Lipstick Jungle? I will be watching...I just learned that Andrew McCarthy is in it!

Well, we lost that other thread with the great suggestions so I just decided to go simple and make chicken salad on crossaints, pasta salad, mixed fruit, cheese and crackers, mini quiche, wine (red and white) and a signature martini. I made DH go with me to Costco when my flight landed but they didn't have half the stuff I needed so I'll be at Kroger later.

I wanted to do something more elaborate but with working all day tomorrow and Monday, and people coming at 7pm on Monday, I just can't do much more. I also have to buy more gift bag stuff since almost all my friends are coming and I don't have enough!

Hopefully the show will be good, at least the pilot! I have it but haven't watched it yet.

I usually do a big Super Bowl thing here and we start early, but this year I just don't feel like it. Buddy has requested...........tuna sandwiches............ He said he would be very happy if I made that for him. I am actually craving KFC! We never have it because it is so bad for you but I love it a lot! I don't know, I have to put some thought into it.

I'd run through Subway for him and KFC for me and call it a day ;)

This is a huge day in our house, we are Patriots season ticket holders!

Super Bowl Eats include-
Buffalo Wings
Cheddar & Bacon Potato Skins
Sweet & Sour Kielbasa
English Muffin Crabbies
Homemade Macaroni Salad
Homemade Potato Salad
Chips
D'Angelo Sandwich Platter (:confused3 DH & DSS tradition!)
White Chocolate & Pecan Bars
Peanut Butter Bars
Banana Bread w/ cream cheese

:cheer2: GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cheer2:

Mrs. Disney Ron

When can I come over? Also - can you share the recipe for the macaroni salad?

Perhaps I should add cookie dough to my menu for Monday night! YUM!!

Tonight we got Chipotle, after our trip to Costco. I ate the whole bag of chips on the way home with dinner so I'm not hungry now for my burrito bol =)

Kathy- thanks for passing on Wendie's message. My heart breaks just thinking that she was alone.

Love that Paw Paw food! :lmao::lmao:

Glynis- I knew that recipe sounded like your. I took boneless thighs out, do you think they will be okay?

Cookie dough??????? My son would kiss your feet and watch chick flicks with you for cookie dough!

My Aunt was good this evening, but she generally is more coherent in the evenings lately. This slide was just in the past three weeks so it has bee difficult making adjustments. Thank you all for the prayers on her behalf.

When can I come over? Also - can you share the recipe for the macaroni salad?

This macaroni salad I used:

diced onion
thawed frozen peas
Hidden Valley Ranch dressing
cooked shrimp
salt & pepper

I keep seeing these posts for buffalo chicken dip. Anyone think it would be ok without the chicken? I'm a veggie so chicken's not an option but I think my bunch would still like it. Any thoughts??
Also someone posted a note about a tofu dish. Can you post the recipe?
Finally - someone asked for my Florida Crunch recipe and I'll get that and post it in just a little while!

Chicken thighs would be just fine!

Gots to have my chocolate chip cookie dough!

THE KIDS FROM HADES ARE GONE!!!!! Yeah!!! I survived, and my house is not too bad. Just a little bit of straightening and I'll be happy! The only problem is that my kids are all cranky after staying up late with their cousins the last 2 nights.

DH is supervising Katie making mac and cheese, so I don't even have to cook tonight! Going out would be better, but I'll take what I can get.
