Hello everyone!

Alex and my friends kids had their egg hunt in the snow. Yes I said snow. We were blessed with 6 inches of the white stuff on friday. This is a neverending winter. My Aunt and Uncle are tired of waiting for spring to find us so they are traveling south in search of it. They did promise to bring it back with them.

We are having spaghetti and meatballs. Then some of the leftover angel food cake and berries.

Change of plans. I am home from work and just completely wiped! I am grouchy (you ladies can guess why...) and don't feel like expending any energy in the kicthen, even though I went out at lunch to get the ingredients for the planned meal. I am just making panini and we'll veg in front of the TV and go to bed early. Shrimp and soup will be tomorrow's dinner instead.

Luke and I had dinner with my parents. Twice baked potatoes, grilled chicken with a creole sauce, lima beans, and mom's shredded iceberg with lemon & evoo dressing...yum. This was a nice treat. Now I am home being a couch potato.

Today is the final day for people to rsvp for my parents 50th anniversary party...why can't people be punctual? I hate having to call and ask people if the plan on attending. Just needed to vent for a moment.

Ann

Hello peoples!

Used to post on the old thread but hadn't posted in very long time! :flower3: Decided I needed to stop in and look at all the new recipes, it's going to take me a while. :scared:

Had Gnocci in a marinara sauce with sauted spinach and roasted garlic added to it plus a salad.

Hey all--

Yesterday was my godmothers memorial service in Florida. My dad had his phone on speaker through it for me so I could hear. My mom's b-day is coming right up as well, April 5th. Just a sad time.

Anywho---Ran errands today, and did some housework, etc etc....it was freezing here 8degrees out. I am so ready for warm weather!!
Supper tonight was (bet you can't guess....I told Ross he can't pick anymore unless he changes it up, lol) steak tips with rice and corn......yawn!!

It sounds like you all had a nice Easter....that makes me happy!! Becky--I felt like you last week.....get some sleep!!!

Tonight we are having tacos.

WFD at your house?

Question: my husband picked up the ingredients for the cake for me. He got unsweetened strawberries. Are they ok or do I need to go get sweetened?

I know this is really late (my computer keeps crashing!), but unsweetened are fine!

Paging Glynis!! I need cooking advice!

Oh, I'm so sorry I didn't see this until now! My computer has been shutting itself down unexpectedly lately, and my internet connection just stopped for a few days. It's been horrible! I hope that someone was able to help you!

Our menu:

Ham with raisin sauce
Corn casserole (Aimee's)
Pineapple bake
Ohana potatoes
Curried sweet potatoes
Pina Colada Cake

Have a great day all!

I'd love the recipe for your ham with raisin sauce, when you get a minute!

Well, I'm back, until my computer decides to die again! It's been so terribly frustrating!!!

My week from Hades has ended, and I'm finally able to catch my breath! On Friday, we celebrated the twins birthday with pizza. Their birthday, their request! Not a problem for me!!!

On Saturday morning, we had our families Easter egg hunt! It was so much fun!!! We made sloppy Joses, and then had chips, coleslaw, and I made a dreamsicle salad for sides. Then we let the kids loose to hunt eggs and candy. I use the term "hunt" loosely. There's really no hiding involved. We just scatter candy and eggs over the lawn in the back yard, and let the kids gather. My children managed to find 36 hard boiled eggs!!! They ignored most of the candy, and went for the real eggs. I wasn't too upset, though, since it meant I wouldn't have to boil any more for the deviled eggs for Easter!!!

On Sunday morning, I made hot cross buns for breakfast, and then we all headed off to church. After church, the kids hunted their baskets, and gorged on candy. We planned to have Easter dinner with Alan's brother and his family. I made a honey glazed ham, sugar free tart orange jello, deviled eggs, jello beans, and maple whipped sweet potatoes. The other family was supposed to make roast chicken, rice, broccoli and a green salad. Well, we got over to their house, and found that they had made mashed potatoes. That's it! Not even any gravy! I was so mad! I told Alan that's the last time we do this! The same thing happened at Thanksgiving. I made all the food and they contributed a store bought pumpkin pie and green bean casserole. From now on, I'd just as soon celebrate the holidays with my immediate family!

Dinner tonight was chicken chili, served over mashed potatoes.

Tonight I am making meatloaf, smashed potatoes, and roasted broccoli.

Ditto for me!

No worries!!! Everything worked out. The cake rocked! :)

Thanks Everyone!!! You all are just the best!! I appreciate it more then you all know.

I have a nail appt this morning. Then will stop at the store for a few things I forgot yesterday. ( My pet peeve when this happens)

Glynis--I was wondering where you were...glad it was just an internet issue and nothing serious with any of you.

Supper tonight is Spag. and turkey meatballs. and garlic bread.
Have a great day my friends!

Wendie, Hang in there! I am here for you as well!

Glynis, Glad to see you're back! Happy Birthday to the Twins!!!

I have some steaks marinating so I will grill them and serve them with some veggies or a salad. We have to get back on track here. ;)

The fireplace insert is being installed today and the sheetrock guys are coming tomorrow...:cool1: I finally sealed the grout in the bathroom yesterday...We are getting there!

Have a great day all!

I'd love the recipe for your ham with raisin sauce, when you get a minute!

I just bake a store-bought spiral ham. The raisin sauce is awesome, I'll post it this afternoon.

WFD - Chicken roll-ups with asparagus and baby carrots, pasta and spinach.

Hi everyone!

Wendie- it will get better, I promise. Things are never the same but one day, just like Janice said, it is less painful. Buddy, who is never going to be accused of being a sensitive guy, told me to just hang on, that it takes a while.

Glynis- that would be it for me as well. Bad enough that you had to drag your kids away on a Holiday and make so much of the meal to transport, but to find you made the entire thing would just make me :headache:

Kathy- I cannot wait for your new Disney fan to be on board. I miss you here!

Lauren- I cannot wait to see the end result.

BigMerle- welcome back!

The meatloaf was really good. I will not put the cheese on the top again, it was good but it would have been fine without. I also used rolled oats as the binder and that worked well with this. I use them whenever I can substitute for bread or bread crumbs. The girls did a recipe thing and figured that it was 4 points peer serving and that the entire meal was 7 points. I cannot figure out why I am not losing weight, I am eating what I cook for them but it looks different on me :confused3 It might be that whole exercise thing.......

Tonight we are having some kind of roasted chicken with sides. I am not sure what we have on hand. I have to give my Aunt lunch and will try to catch up on my ironing. I am up to my elbows in clothes that are wrinkled :sad2:

I am a little worried about my Aunt. She is regressing more and more and I think that she is just tired. Her appetite is still good and she likes what I cook and the meals my BIL makes, ( he cooks mostly at my sisters) so that is good I guess.

Dinner tonight is Black Pepper Stir Fried Shrimp and veggies with a brown rice medley.

Morning all! Last night was Kathy's Velvet Shrimp--always a hit!! Tonight is gonna be Glynis' Lime Chicken Nachos. Can't wait!

Tonight I am making meatloaf, smashed potatoes, and roasted broccoli.

I'm glad you enjoyed the cake! We love it!!! My kids don't like the rum flavoring, so I usually just leave that out, and increase the lime zest. Very yummy and spring-like!

Sounds like we are having the same meal! I'm making bacon cheddar melt mini meatloaves, baked potatoes and steamed broccoli!
