What's better than a honeymoon? TWO Honeymoons! 8/30 57 hours/13 months to go!

I love the vintage WDW photo! Love looking at the fabulous fashions :rotfl:
Also, you are definitely not crazy-- you can add looking at the Allears menus daily to see if they've changed/pick out what I think I'd like to eat and you have what I do everyday before a trip :-X. Oh, and frequently editing and updating my packing list. I also try on outfits, trying to decide what will be the coolest and (no joke) look best on camera.

Hii! Ok, all caught up!

I'm a huge animal lover, too! We've adopted many strays over the years; such a wonderful thing you did keeping your newest fur-baby!

Your wedding and (first) honeymoon looked great!! I know what you mean about needing a vacation not long after the wedding/honeymoon, though! I think you spend so much time stressing and planning, that your body/mind just give up once you get home. But, you have September to look forward to now; woho!

I know I'm a red-headed stepchild to some people when I say this, but we love US just as much as WDW. It's just a completely different experience; everything (resorts included) just seem much more adult. (Don't get me wrong; we love kids, but you'll see. It's just different.)

You are going to love that resort! If you get a chance, you should go walk around Royal Pacific, too. We stayed there last year and adored it!

Some of my favorites at US are: The Mummy, Men in Black, and the Hulk. (Love, love, love Mummy! It's one of my top favorite rides of all time.)

Do you need eating suggestions?? I'll be happy to help!!

OH! And, we had a terrible flight (like what you described) on our return flight for our honeymoon. It was awful; I have terrible nightmares about flying now. This will be the first time I've been back on a plane; I'm hoping there won't be any panic attack feelings involved!!

Ok, so I am a wee bit more caught up. Have to congratulate you on the wedding. The pics look wonderful. You have beautiful animals too.

Thank you! The wedding was a lot of fun and turned out almost exactly how we wanted it to.
I think our pets are pretty darned cute, but it is nice to hear someone impartial agree :)

I am super late but I just found your PTR.

Congrats on your marriage. Your wedding looked beautiful. :goodvibes

Your pets are adorable. I am a cat lover and have 4, our city limit. If I could, I'd have more and officially become "the cat lady." :rolleyes1

I need to go back and catch up so I don't know what you decided about ears/pins but I think that you should definitely wear them!

Looking forward to catching up and reading more. We will also be at Disney in September...arriving on the 10th.

popcorn::

:wave2: Hi there!
Making the leap to 3 cats has me a little worried- as in, what's to stop me from getting just one more? But I think between DH and I we will hold firm at this number of furry things!

The popular vote seems to be to go ahead with the pins and ears. Which is what I wanted to hear, so it looks like we'll be sporting them!

I love the vintage WDW photo! Love looking at the fabulous fashions :rotfl:

Did you see Ben's cool Disney t-shirt in that pic? So cute!

Haha, I love that there's a place for people like us to feel less crazy.
I am so excited to go shopping for this trip. Cause then I can pack without worrying about needing the clothes I'm packing!

Thanks for joining in!

We are definitely looking forward to another vacation. I feel like I hardly had any time after the wedding before it was back work and the rest of real life stress.

I'm excited about US- we will definitely try to check our Royal Pacific while we are there. And I need all the eating suggestions you can give! I know nothing about what's good to eat there!

Isn't it awful how a bad flight experience can make traveling so much more stressful? I never was afraid of flying, but now it is really tough to picture getting on a plane again. I hope we both have nice, easy flights this time around!

There are a few things I am especially looking forward to in September. I've divided the list of already done favorites into two important categories:

Things you can eat:
Napoleon from the bakery in France. I don't think I got one on my last trip. But on the trip before that I had many. I judge all pastry/dessert offerings based on this napoleon. It is my perfect food.
napoleon.jpg

That is what love looks like.

Dole Whip. I'm not sure what the technical definition of this is. Is it referring to the pineapple flavored ice cream? If so, maybe that's not exactly what I want. What I do know is I love the vanilla ice cream in pineapple juice float.

Hot Fudge Sundae in a waffle bowl at MK ice cream shoppe. Preferably eaten at one of the small tables down the little side street under the window with the music lessons. The hot fudge soaks into the waffle bowl and it is amazing.

Premium Mickey Bar. Such a simple concept that tastes so much better than its real world counterpart.

And because this list is decidedly dessert oriented, I will also include:

Food at Kona Cafe. No specifics- I can't remember what I had when we ate here last trip. I just remember that is was delicious. We ended up here after trying to add a second 'Ohana dinner in and finding no openings. They offered this ADR as a substitute and Ben and I loved it.

Things you can't eat:
The beach at the Poly. I can't wait to be relaxing, watching the castle change color. Added bonus is that this time, we'll be staying here!
P1010046.jpg

Being told to have 'a magical day'. People can't say this in real life- it's too weird. But I love it.

Haunted Mansion and Spaceship Earth. What could these two attractions possibly have in common? Well, lots of things, really: they load the same way and have the same sort of ride motion. They both have scenes featuring audio animatronics. (I either spelled that wrong or spell check does not recognize 'animatronics' as a word)
Most important: they were both closed for refurb when we were there 3 years ago. So I haven't ridden either in about 4 years! And they're 2 of my favorites.

Country Bear Jamboree. I think this show is hilarious. The words to the songs are crazy and I don't think most people even hear them ('Blood on the Saddle', anyone?) Cracks me up everytime. It also makes me miss Food Rocks- an even more random and hilarious show that was replaced by the line for Soarin'. I laughed till I cried during that one- no one else even giggled.
Food_Rocks-goldhaber.jpg

Aww, I got sidetracked and nostalgic. Did I mention earlier that I don't even like Soarin'? So it's extra sad that the queue for it replaced Food Rocks. Ahem... moving on...

The busses. They are not fancy. They are not fast. But they mean 'Disney' to me. There's nothing like those first couple of bus rides when you are seeing everything for the first time and it hasn't become blase to glimpse the Tower of Terror over the trees. Not to mention the A/C. And the purple seats.

Walking around the parks with alcohol* One of my favorite moments from last trip was sitting at the bar at 50's Prime Time in MGM. The bartender asked if we wanted another and we answered that we were heading out. He offered to-go cups. We thought he was joking until we remembered that we were not in a bar at home- we could legally leave with a drink 'for the road'. We felt like rebels. *(MK not included)

That's the list of favorites that I can't wait to do again.

The list of new things I am looking forward to still to come!

I love the dole whip float...pineapple soft serve with pineapple juice. Best snack credit on a hot day!

Hot Fudge Sundae in a waffle bowl at MK ice cream shoppe. Preferably eaten at one of the small tables down the little side street under the window with the music lessons. The hot fudge soaks into the waffle bowl and it is amazing.

I have not tried any icecream. Each time we have been there it has been too cold to enjoy icecream..we usually go for the dole whip when warms up

Premium Mickey Bar. Such a simple concept that tastes so much better than its real world counterpart.

Haven't tried this either. I will have to check it out!

That sounds wonderful. Definitely something to do with just the hubby.

Being told to have 'a magical day'. People can't say this in real life- it's too weird. But I love it.

:thumbsup2

Those are two of my favorites too. I am so glad that Zoe finally likes HM. She used to avoid it. It scared her too much. Poory thing...

It cracks me up too... I think it lacks a bit PC that most everything in life now has to have.

I am not allowed to go on TOT again. I went for the first time ever last trip. It was too much for me. I dare not say what I did... :rotfl2:

That always throws me too. Here we can't even buy liquor in any non state run store...let alone walk around with open containers :scared1:

That's the list of favorites that I can't wait to do again.

great list :thumbsup2

The list of new things I am looking forward to still to come!

can't wait!!!

There are a few things I am especially looking forward to in September.

Great post! You are making me think of all the things I want to do... and eat (which is the most important thing, of course). I do love eating. I need to start thinking about shedding few pounds so I can gain them back in Sept!

Mmm love Napoleons!! I also love Country Bears and don't like the "lame" rap it's gotten! I never saw "Food Rocks," but that picture makes me think it was hysterical!! Kinda reminds me of Stew Leonards. (I am not not a Soarin fan. Eh hem)

 I love how you've divided up your categories! What is it about the food at Disney that is so exciting?!

Oh, how I would love to have a Napoleon right now.

can't wait!!!

Haha, what did you do on TOT? It is one of my favorites but it is intense!
Try to get some ice cream on your September trip- it won't be too cold, but it does melt kinda fast :)

That's kinda what I did on our Jamaica trip. I lost weight for the wedding and gained it all back in a week. Oh well, at least it was fun!

I just had to Google Stew Leonards and it sounds awesome, for a grocery store- is it as cool as Wikipedia makes it sound?
'Every Bite You Take' sung by the Refrigerator Police was the song that sent me over the edge during Food Rocks. Wish you could've enjoyed it!

 I love how you've divided up your categories! What is it about the food at Disney that is so exciting?!

Oh, how I would love to have a Napoleon right now.

I don't know! There is something about that place that just makes me think in terms of 'Well that was fun, but what am I eating now?'

I have been in a bad habit of just repeating trips. Staying at the same resort, eating at the same restaurants, just being in a rut. This trip is my chance to change that and start seeing some new parts of WDW! This is the list of some of those things I am looking forward to (I have combined the edible and inedible this time :lmao: )

disclaimer: pictures of things we have not done yet were mostly taken from various sites on the interweb.

Things we are doing for the first time:

Polynesian Resort. It's a deluxe resort. It's on the monorail. It has tiki torches. It's the place that both Ben and I picked as a 'dream resort' without discussing it with each other. In short, I am thrilled to be staying here!
P1010043.jpg

Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. There are a ton of things at these parks that I've wanted to try, but never wanted to take a day away from WDW to do it. But this is a longer trip, so we are starting at Universal for 3 days. This also includes another new resort: Portofino Bay

Hoop Dee Do Musical Review. I've heard a lot about it in TRs and it just seems like a lot of fun! I love corny jokes so this should be my kind of dinner show. The food sounds simple but tasty and plentiful.
hoop-dee-doo-1.jpg

Jellyrolls. I've heard good things about this piano bar, and haven't spent much time at all at the Boardwalk, so this should be a good thing to try. It's no Adventurer's Club, but I'll keep an open mind!

Drinking new drinks. I had a list of cocktails I wanted to try at different places around WDW, but I can't find it. I do remember that Lapu Lapu was on it, and the Grey Goose Slushie from France. Looks like I have some more research to do. Good thing 49 days ought to be just enough time to do it :rotfl:
img_39191-225x300.jpg

Toy Story Mania. Haven't been since it opened, so this is new to us! I have an idea that it is kinda like the Pirates of the Caribbean thing at Disney Quest. I love playing that, so I am excited about TSM.

DVC Tour. Not that I am looking forward to the actual tour so much (though it should be interesting), but to the idea that we could slightly possibly become DVC owners.

Le Cellier. Never tried to get an ADR here in the past, even knowing all the hype and acclaim it gets here. So this time I picked it as one of our new dining experiences and now I am really excited to try it!

Things we're not doing for the first time:

Soarin' I rode it at DL before it was built in Epcot and thought it was nice. It just doesn't have any re-ride factor for me. But for some reason, I kept riding it every trip. Just recently had the revelation that I don't have to like it because others do. I figure this can save us some good time in Epcot. I'll be the weirdo heading to Mission Space (the color that is the intense side- I can never remember which) when everyone else is running to Soarin'. Side note: I do love Living with the Land.

A Water Park. Typhoon Lagoon is my water park of choice, but we just decided to skip them all together this time. More time to hang out at the Poly! :woohoo:

Safari at AK. Another one that doesn't have the re-ride factor for me. I have the pictures, I've seen the animals, I know the plot. We're most likely skipping it this time around.

It's been 3 years since our last trip to WDW, and I've never gone that long between trips! I am really excited about these new things, and just enjoying it all from a new perspective!

We did a US trip once. We thought the kids were getting a bit too old for WDW and it was before my youngest was born. I think this is a great park for non Disney lovers and those without small kids in the travel party.

Hoop Dee Do Musical Review. I've heard a lot about it in TRs and it just seems like a lot of fun! I love corny jokes so this should be my kind of dinner show. The food sounds simple but tasty and plentiful.
hoop-dee-doo-1.jpg

I have toyed around with the idea of a dinner show. I have never been to one any of the times we have gone. It seems like some of the draw is the alcohol. I can not drink.. so maybe this trip isn't the trip for us. I will be anxious to read about how you like it.

Jellyrolls. I've heard good things about this piano bar, and haven't spent much time at all at the Boardwalk, so this should be a good thing to try. It's no Adventurer's Club, but I'll keep an open mind!

Isn't it amazing how many things there are to do? I have never spent time on the Boardwalk either.

As I mentioned, I can not drink (it is a medication thing) so I don't have a lot of suggestions here, but last time because I had read so many good things about the grand marnier slushie in france, I MADE dh get one just so I could get a sip. It was yummy!

Toy Story Mania. Haven't been since it opened, so this is new to us! I have an idea that it is kinda like the Pirates of the Caribbean thing at Disney Quest. I love playing that, so I am excited about TSM.

This is such a great ride. Fun to play. Is over too fast though.

DVC Tour. Not that I am looking forward to the actual tour so much (though it should be interesting), but to the idea that we could slightly possibly become DVC owners.

How cool would that be!?! You will have to let us all know what you think of the tour.

Le Cellier. Never tried to get an ADR here in the past, even knowing all the hype and acclaim it gets here. So this time I picked it as one of our new dining experiences and now I am really excited to try it!

This place is soo good, but really there are lots of good restaurants in the World. I think that the fact it is hard to get into is what drives people to go. That being said, I am happy to be gong myself. I just wish we had a later ADR. 2pm is not what I would hope for, but I guess you take what you can get when it comes to this restaurant.

Ok, so I think more an more people are really just not loving this ride. Most of my family could take it or leave it. I always love the one in DL, so this last trip I begged to have it on our list to do in WDW. We did and I was so happy. I know.. I am kinda weird, but I do love this ride. I think for others though...it is one of only a few rides at Epcot so I wonder if that is why people run there.

A Water Park. Typhoon Lagoon is my water park of choice, but we just decided to skip them all together this time. More time to hang out at the Poly! :woohoo:

Never done a water park, probably never will. We have quite a few water parks within a reasonable distance.. I just don't get too excited about them. Course, in the September Orlando heat...maybe I will be changing my tune.

Safari at AK. Another one that doesn't have the re-ride factor for me. I have the pictures, I've seen the animals, I know the plot. We're most likely skipping it this time around.

Since my mom is coming for the first time, this is a must for us. However, I get what you are saying about knowing the plot. The animals can change a bit, but the same things are said...at the same times. I would almost rather there be no dialog and just a leisurely tour, hoping to see some animals.

I had to add in something at the end since it wouldn't go through (said the message was too short.)

Anyway, you asked what I did on TOT... well, it was my first time on the ride EVER. I am not a big fan of falling. (which is what you do on this ride, right? ;)) Well, so I held on to dh, at first with just a hand, then both hands, then with my arms, then I tried to get as close to him as possible. With nothing left to hold on with...I only had one more option. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1:rolleyes1 ..... teeth. I am such a dork. Poor dh. :guilty: at least I have all my shots. :rotfl:

And, the icecream...is definitely on my list now!

:rotfl: of all the things I was picturing that you may have done on TOT biting your DH was not one of them! That is one of the funniest things I've heard. Though I am sorry you were so scared and sorry your DH had to be one the receiving end of that!

We aren't going there for three days, but this will be new for us as well! We are just doing IoA for one day and seeing WWOHP.

Not that I am looking forward to the actual tour so much (though it should be interesting), but to the idea that we could slightly possibly become DVC owners.

I told my husband that if we were ever rich, we need to buy DVC! I have always wanted to do the tour, but I am an impulse shopper and I don't know what the end result would be. DH said that if he ever sells a screenplay we would pay off the house, buy a bigger one, and then get DVC. :cool1:

Le Cellier. Never tried to get an ADR here in the past, even knowing all the hype and acclaim it gets here. So this time I picked it as one of our new dining experiences and now I am really excited to try it!

I had a ressie here (made it 180 days out when we weren't even sure we were going) but then cancelled because of the extra 4 people we are bringing. It broke my heart, but I am SO EXCITED that you are going! Can't wait to here all about it!

Soarin' I rode it at DL before it was built in Epcot and thought it was nice. It just doesn't have any re-ride factor for me. But for some reason, I kept riding it every trip.

I am the same way! I am not really into Soarin and I just don't get it! But I have ridden it several times and will ride again this year, just because I will be with people who haven't ridden it before.

Your last list inspired me to start a PTR, by the way. Hopefully it will be as great as yours!

I love the Poly, too, but DBF is not a huge fan. I think it may have something to do with our not so great Ohana dinner (awful service/we weren't big fans of the food--save the bread pudding!!). He's just not into "tropical." I'll just have to live vicariously through you!!
We've been to IOA/US many times, so if you have any questions, send them my way!!

I am really looking forward to checking out WWOHP. I stopped reading things about it and looking at pictures so I won't know what to expect!

As much as I want to buy DVC, I highly doubt DH will go for it at this point. But I want to learn more about it because you never know!

Sorry to hear that you had to cancel Le Cellier! Have you kept trying to get another ADR? At least it is something you can look forward to trying in the future!

I am flattered that I inspired you to start a PTR  can't wait to read it!

Stinks that you had a bad experience at 'Ohana. I've enjoyed my meals there- though I never really have room for the meats which are supposed to be the main attraction. For all I know, they could be gross! But if your DBF doesn't like tropical, I guess the Poly isn't his kinda place! I'll be sure to take lots and lots of pictures so you can enjoy the experience.

I definitely have some question for you about IOA/US, thanks!

I tend to do the same thing...repeat our trips! I guess I am a creature of habit. I'm with you though, it's time to see and do some new things!

disclaimer: pictures of things we have not done yet were mostly taken from various sites on the interweb.

Things we are doing for the first time:

Polynesian Resort. It's a deluxe resort. It's on the monorail. It has tiki torches. It's the place that both Ben and I picked as a 'dream resort' without discussing it with each other. In short, I am thrilled to be staying here!

Yay for the Poly! We've always wanted to stay there.

Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. There are a ton of things at these parks that I've wanted to try, but never wanted to take a day away from WDW to do it. But this is a longer trip, so we are starting at Universal for 3 days. This also includes another new resort: Portofino Bay

We went there once. I just can't seem to pull myself away from Disney though. To make matters worse, we valet parked when we went there and they smashed our rental! :scared1: I think that sent DH over the edge.....

Hoop Dee Do Musical Review. I've heard a lot about it in TRs and it just seems like a lot of fun! I love corny jokes so this should be my kind of dinner show. The food sounds simple but tasty and plentiful.

We love the HDDMR. We've gone twice and really enjoyed it!

Jellyrolls. I've heard good things about this piano bar, and haven't spent much time at all at the Boardwalk, so this should be a good thing to try. It's no Adventurer's Club, but I'll keep an open mind!

We are going to Jellyrolls for the first time this year. I think it will be fun.

Toy Story Mania. Haven't been since it opened, so this is new to us! I have an idea that it is kinda like the Pirates of the Caribbean thing at Disney Quest. I love playing that, so I am excited about TSM.

I think you'll love TSMM. Crossing my fingers that there won't be a huge line for you.

Yummm.........LeCellier........:thumbsup2

Things we're not doing for the first time:

Soarin' I rode it at DL before it was built in Epcot and thought it was nice. It just doesn't have any re-ride factor for me. But for some reason, I kept riding it every trip. Just recently had the revelation that I don't have to like it because others do. I figure this can save us some good time in Epcot. I'll be the weirdo heading to Mission Space (the color that is the intense side- I can never remember which) when everyone else is running to Soarin'. Side note: I do love Living with the Land.

We rode once and I loved it. I can't wait to ride again.

A Water Park. Typhoon Lagoon is my water park of choice, but we just decided to skip them all together this time. More time to hang out at the Poly! :woohoo:

Me + bathing suit = OMG no. :lmao:

Safari at AK. Another one that doesn't have the re-ride factor for me. I have the pictures, I've seen the animals, I know the plot. We're most likely skipping it this time around.

:rotfl2:

It's been 3 years since our last trip to WDW, and I've never gone that long between trips! I am really excited about these new things, and just enjoying it all from a new perspective!

I know that you will have a great time!

Hey sorry I've been MIA.

Loving your lists of must do's. That pastry from the France bakery looks soooo good :teeth: You are going to have a fantastic time :goodvibes

Miguel and I are planning to do the same thing for our Disneymoon - try new things! We definitely have a routine that we follow while we're there and we don't deviate too much, but with all of that extra time it's going to be nice to have the opportunity to experience some new things! :thumbsup2
