1973 with my parents. I was nine, my sisters were ten and three. We stayed at a Fort Wilderness camper...it was one of those long, silver ones. It is probably my happiest memory from my childhood.

The first year with my family was in 1994. It was my most memorable vacation to date...it was awesome seeing it through my children's eyes. We still love Disney, but nothing comes close to this first trip!

The year was 1978. My sister and her hubby made a work related move to Winter Park, FL. I was a 12 y/o on summer vacation and my parents decided to let me spend a week with my big sis. As part of that visit, we made the short trek from her tiny frog filled apartment (I can still remember having to check the tub for critters. Being a 12 y/o girl, that memory is basically "Yuck.") to WDW. I had no idea what to expect. Disney to me at that time was simply a program you watched with your family on Sunday evening. What a magical world I discovered on that day. I can still recall the feeling of standing at the end of Main St and seeing the castle for the first time. It swells in me each time I return.

I have just returned from my 40th visit (just got in last night), and those over the years have included day trips, marching band or other high school trips, family vacations, group/friend trips, and romantic getaways. Any reason is a good reason for a trip to Disney!

In 1977. I was 6 years old. My aunt (my father's sister) had just gotten married in North Carolina. We went to the wedding and my father, mother and I... and my grandparents (my aunt's father and second wife) all went on their honeymoon with them! I remember my parents and I stayed in a different hotel, but my grandparents stayed in the same hotel as them, too!

I don't know what we (or they) were thinking!

Pam

My first trip was in January 1972 with my grandparents. We stayed at the Contemporary - I think the rate was about $40 per night!

I first went when I was 21 in 1994. I had been longing to go since I was about 8 but trips from the UK to the US were a lot more expensive back in those days.

Our first trip was in 2000 (August hot hot hot). We didn't have a lot of time though and we were offsite. We were there for a cheerleading competition for our daughter. This coming up trip is our first "official" trip onsite and nothing but disney.

My first trip was in July of 1974. I was only 4 and I remember almost fainting in Haunted Mansion. :rotfl:

My first trip was in 1992 with my family. Never could forget the place and was over the moon to be back in October 2005 with my wife, who had never been before. In fact, I drove my wife crazy in the months leading up the trip constantly talking about Disney World. Now, I've driven her so crazy with talk of going back we are trying to add an extra week to our holiday in Great Britain so we can return to Disney World.

Man, it sucks living in Australia. Too far away from Disney World.

96 was the first trip for my whole family, mom, dad, and grandfather included. So it was a very exciting trip for all of us. We also stayed at the Contemporary which has remaned one of our favorite Disney hotels. Cinderella's castle was half pink at the time, which was a little sad but otherwise it was a great trip.

Our family first went to WDW in the early morning hours the day after Christmas 1977. Even though my father drove through the night from Illinois, it seemed to take an eternity to get to Florida. We visited WDW a couple of days after Christmas, and again on New Years Eve. I remember the park being very crowded that night. I watched the New Years Eve fireworks shoulder to shoulder with throngs of other party goers while drinking fruit punch purchased from an Adventureland counter service restaurant (which I believe no longer exists), and wearing party hats made of colorful pressed paper confetti (which I still have) while blowing plastic party horns. My mother originally believed that a WDW vacation was a rather unenlightening and uneducational experience for her children, but she quickly became enchanted with the all the Disney magic during a visit to the Crystal Palace that chilly New Years evening dressed in a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt. I returned home from that childhood vacation with the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song forever etched in my memory, along with some of the most absolute endearing, precious and unforgettable moments I have ever experienced. It really was magical.

My first trip was in 1971. I know this because we have a picture with one of the characters. My little sister was born that year. She was just a little thing in the picture.

My husband visited by himself - with friends and his family before we met - but our first trip together (and my first ever) was our honeymoon in 1983 -- we stayed at the Polynesian and had the most wonderful and magical time -- we were hooked -- !!! We now are DVC members and have visited WDW at least 50 times -- we did get to Disneyland in California once as well which we LOVED! :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

My first trip was in 1992 with my grandmother. She had been going to Disney, gee probably since the 70's...After her youngest child turned 18 she started taking each grandkid in March or April. I was the first to go because I was the first grandchild born...I was 10.

We had a great time. I wasn't really a Disney kid (I knew the "famous movies", but my mom wasn't big into Disney, so while I was excited I had no idea how special it was going to be).

Before the trip my grandma took me on a "shopping spree" where I got to buy all new clothes for the 8 day trip including a purse and wallet. She wanted to take me for a perm too but my mom said no :(

Anyway (gee this is getting long)...I might as well give a little aside. My parents were divorced and this was my dad's mom so I never really got to see her so much. It made me realize what I was missing; to see her so many days in a row. Little did I know at the time that she would be dead in 5 years due to cancer... I cherish that time we got to spend together and I always get choked up when I think about it.

Anyway, back to the trip. We stayed at Port Orleans resort. I thought it was complete luxury ( I had never been at a hotel). I loved the pool and the boat service. I liked being able to order any kind of food that I wanted. Grandma even let me have control of my own camera. I took a lot of weird pictures. I think my favorite ride of that trip was Pirates of the Carribean.

After that trip, after my grandmother passed; I always wanted to go back to Disney. When I got married in 2004 there was no question that we would be honeymooning in Disney. I just had to go back to POFQ and see if it was as magical as I remembered it; and it was.

My first trip was for our 1st anniversary in 2001. I had a few close calls in the late 90's before meeting DW, but job layoffs prevented any traveling. First trip was only for 4 days, but it was awesome. DW had been at least 4 previous times with her family and with school so we got a lot done. Our last trip back in Nov/Dec I was out of control. That is when I found this place. I wanted to make sure we did as much as we could or at least know what was going on. I drove the family partially crazy, but when all was said and done they were very happy. Even though they had been before (we went with DW's parents [they had been before], my mother and DS 3 1/2 and DD 13 months) they were very happy with all the planning and "obcessive tendency's" I had.

We're not sure when we will go back again. DW wants to go back for our 10th anniversary in 4 years, but that is too long for me. I'm thinking no later than 2007 (new baby coming this summer so this year might be out money wise) even if is just the 2 of us for a long weekend.

My first and only trip was in 1986. I was 8 years old. I believe it was in July. It was very hot!! I only went to MK for one day, so of course I did not cover everything in that one day but it was the most magical day! I recall RidngMr Toads Wild Wild Ride (now a pooh ride) and while I was waiting in line, I saw some devils popping up at the end of the ride. I was afraid of those devils so when I finally got on I covered my eyes the whole time to avoid seeing those devils. I was perfectly fine on the Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain though - not scared at all. Weird, Huh? LOL.

I also recall riding Mission to Mars which is now today's Stitch's Great Escape.
I also rode If You Had Wings which today is now Buzz Lightyear's attraction in Tomorrowland.
I always thought I'd come back and face up to those devils on Mr Toads Wild Wild Ride but unfortunately it no longer exists. I do know it still exits at DL but I'm not sure when i can make a trip there.

I'm going back to the World this July after 20 years with my own family, so it will be a second time for me but the first for them. Now I can revisit MK, and finally Epcot and the two parks added since I've been: MGM and AK. I am so excited! I magic I experienced so long ago is still with me and I can't wait until my own family experience the MAGIC! :wizard:

Mine was the year it first opened and I remember we took the auto-train down. I remember being freaked out about the sky trams and begging my Mother not to go on it. ha,ha.
