What Xyron to get?

I bought the "X" (150) for ribbons and small pieces like die-cut alphas and the 250 for larger pieces (up to 2-2.5" wide). like Rolodex cards. Refills for both are affordable at $5-10 each regularly.

I was considering the 500 or 510 for versatility (magnets and laminating) but it wasn't in the budget at the time (I'm cheap). They're reasonably priced, but the refills cost more than I think I'm willing to spend (up to $20 regularly).

I have a coupon for 50% off at Joann's that is good through the end of the week. PM with your email and I can forward it to you. I don't think they are on sale there this week so if you have one of those close by you might want to check them out. I have the 900 as I wanted to make sure it could do whatever my sis and I wanted it to do! But I definetly bought it on sale!

Xyron is on sale there this week and you can't use both... Thank you for that suggestion though! :)

Personally, I use my X and 250 about the same amount of time. Depends on if I'm running one thing through or a series of letters. If I have a lot of stuff to run at once, I use the 900 and run it all side by side at once. I'll probably be using the 900 more now, since I've got my Cricut and will be running lots of letters. You can always start with the X and see how much you use it. Then move on to a larger one when another coupon hits.

I have just bought my first xyron and bought the X. I wanted the 250, but the store didn't have it when I went so I bought the X because it would do what I immediately wanted and I was impatient. I should have waited cause I think for me the 250 would be better. On the flip side the X was pretty cheap so if you use it and use up the first roll and never useit again..... well you get the idea.

I actually use the x refills without the machine if I am doing something like small letters or punches. I had problems getting them in the machine the way I wanted them - close together but not overlapping (didn't want to waste tape). I do use the machine some times so I usually have a refill in the machine and one not in the machine going at the same time.

I have the X and a 500. If I'd known how to put the things in the X cartridge I would have just gotten the refill. But it actually works for transporting it so it's okay. ;) However, that's the only time it's in the actual X...like RMG I couldn't get things place in it properly.

Next I was going to get the 250 so I could make shaker boxes that didn't fall apart. But it's not wide enough for a couple of the shapes I wanted to put through. My Mikes happened to have a 500 sitting there for several months (I think it was a return) with the box was pretty beat up & torn. Anyway, they finally reduced the price on it and it still sat there a while. I happened to be at the store rally early one day when all Xyron's were 50% off so I picked it up then - so it really wasn't too bad pricewise. I don't use it nearly as much as my X - mostly because I hate wasting the adhesive. However, I love it! Having both the X & 500 is the best of all worlds for me at the moment.

I have the X and just love it for my little stuff (letter, numbers, small embellishments).. I just got the 500 and didn't like it with my letters.. but I may have been doing something wrong too.. I haven't tried it on anything big yet due to kids' activities... ;)

I did use my 500 for letters before Christmas when I was doing 5 identical books. It took me a couple tries to get them in far enough, but after that it was fine. But I was using a slightly larger font - the Monkey Tails ones, which has no shadows so they're a bit bigger. I wouldn't want to use it with the smaller ones though!

I have the "X" and the 250 and use them both frequently! I love the "X" for my small Sizzlit letters. It works great. :)
