What Would You Do FIRST in Magic Kingdom?

Okay guys, I want everyone's input on this one.

We are taking our 3 children to WDW for the first time in June. Our first day in-park will be MK. Our kids are 6, 4, and 3. The first thing I planned to do was to get everyone's ears at the Chapeau Hat Shoppe and then .... I don't know!

I want their first Disney attraction or ride to knock their socks off and to be something they won't forget. So. What would you recommend as their FIRST ever Disney must-do? Don't worry about what part of the park we'll be in when, we can work around that. I just want your personal thoughts on making a huge hit first thing out of the gate.

Annnnd go! :)
We have a tradition of hats first and we love it! What we do is go to Downtown Disney the night before and pick out our hats there! It gets us even more excited for the parks and we can kick our first park day off without taking time to shop. Plus, everyone looks adorable from the moment we leave our room.

Skip the ears, get them later. Go to PP and 7DMT because they get lines early that never go down.

PP has been my sons' 1st choice throughout the years.

I did not read all posst but agree with people who say get there for rope drop and take your time. If you rush, you can take away some of the fun.
Your there all week. take your time and enjoy.

I don't know if you plan to go to MK on the day you arrive or the first full day. If it fits in your plans I would get to the park early on the first full day and watch the welcome show just after the turn styles. The train rolls in with the characters and they open the park. Great way to start the day. Then you have to walk up main street to the castle. There are plenty of photopass people on the way to get a quick photo if there's no lines then take the little ones to Fantasyland right through the castle and ride Pete Pan.

My husband and I always make Pirates our first ride but it will be down for refurb then...boo.

So our votes are for Peter Pan or Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin as well. Either would be an excellent start!

Yep same here, we always do Pirates first. But seeing how you'll be there when it's closed, Op I think you'd be smart to head to Fantasyland first. Your children are all at perfect ages for those rides.

My wife had never been to Disneyland or Disneyworld.

The first time we went together our first attraction was Pirates of the Carribbean. I still think it's a great choice. I'd either go with Pirates or Peter Pan. They are classic, great Disney rides.

Hats first then stand in the new hub, look at the castle, and take a lot of pictures of their faces. After that it really doesn't matter does it?
