what would you do - calling for rain

On our second MK day they are calling for quite a bit of rain. We were hoping to keep our 3 y.o up for the parade and fireworks that night. We have 7dmt, belle and PP FP+ that day. We have a resort day the next day. The resort day is a day where MK is least recommended and has EMH. It is only a predicted crowd level 2.

We are going to have a 3 Rd day at the MK the following week. The third day will be pretty mellow. We have FP for mickey in the town square, POTC and the magic carpets of Aladdin.

Would you cancel the FP+s for the 3rd day and make the planned resort day a back up day? I was thinking if I could still get bell or PP FP we could rope drop at 8 and hit most of what we wanted to do in FL, do the FP and leave. We wouldn't try to do the parade that night. I know we would lose 7dmt, but I doubt my 3 y.o cares. We only had plans for FL that day.

If the forecast changes we could keep our 2nd MK day as planned and probably get our 3rd day FP back, right? Nothing on the 3rd day was high priority.

Thoughts? I'm freaking out about the weather. Probably because everything else is booked and ready to go!!

Thanks!

Put on poncho and hope, no expect, others to be chased away by the rain and have less crowds.

What time of the year are you going because the only way rain for me would make a difference is if it was also cold like less than 40?

Weather forecasts in Florida are pure fantasy. They are good for about one hour maximum. Weather is very unpredictable here since it comes from three different directions. I live 25 miles from the mouse and it can be raining here and sunny there. Don't base travel plans on a weather forecast. If you are here and it starts to rain find something else to do for an hour.

I would recommend going somewhere that's indoors for the rain to pass (and the crowds to pass) - everyone is thinking like you are and the only ones who get to enjoy the park with less crowds (and likely won't NEED that FP!) are those who put on a poncho and tough it out! Its been several years since living in Orlando, but I remember it was only the rarest of occasions when a rainstorm was constant and unrelenting for an entire day.

I completely agree with Chartle. Put on your ponchos and enjoy. We went last March and it rained the whole time we were there. However temps stayed in the mid 70's. We put on ponchos and enjoyed out time anyway. The parks seem to clear out with the rain which makes it so much more fun for everyone that stays. Hope this helps.:daisy:

Yes, Feb 25.

Thank you everyone. I feel much better now. Ponchos it is!!

Thank you!!!!

It's Florida. If you cancel your plans because of a chance of rain, you will never do anything.

We had several rainy days during our recent Thanksgiving trip.....we donned the ponchos and off we went! The morning rain did keep the crowds low!

Yeah, I agree with the "throw on the ponchos and go enjoy" crowd.

We had expected rain when we were there last week. It only rained 1 day and wasn't that bad we put on ponchos and continued on best time to ride splash mountain is when we are already wet
