What would happen ...

... IF we had a use year of June, we made a reservation for the end of June ( 11 months in advance ) based upon our anticipated allotment ( as of June 1 ) ... and we were forced to cancel in April?

Where would the points go? Would they still be part of our new allotment? Would they go into some sort of holding account? Would they be available for banking?

If you have a June use year, and you make reservations 11 months in advance for the following June, you've crossed two use years...

Example...
June/1/2000 you receive 150 points
June/1/2001 you receive 150 points
Say your reservation is for 6/20/2001. If you wanted to use your 6/2000 points for your 2001 trip, you would have to bank the June 2000 points to the June 2001 use year. The 2000 use year points would have to be used BEFORE 5/31/2002

If you cancel 31 days or more in advance of arrival your points would be returned to the use year they were taken from. If you had banked your 2000 points to 2001, and used your banked points for your June 2001 trip, the points would be returned to the 2001 use year..and all banking rules would apply for expiration of points.

If you cancel less than 31 days, points go into a holding account and can only be used to make reservations 60 days in advance of arrival. Holding account points still follow your use year cut off..so if these were 2000 points banked to 2001, they would have to be used prior to 5/31/2001.

I believe I have this right!

For June 2001 you would use 2001 points. If you are going to book for June 2002 in July 2001, you would use 2002 points. If you decide not to go you have the next 11 months of your use year to use them.
