On our last trip over Labor Day 2003, we stayed at the BC. Myself, DH, and 2 DS's (4 and 6) were strolling around the Boardwalk one evening after a nice meal at Beaches n Cream.:)

Well this little boy (maybe about 11 or 12) came up to us and gave our sons a smiley face basketball that he had won playing the hoop game. We protested but he said he had won plenty and my boys could have that one! Well I just thought that was the nicest gesture, especially coming from someone so young. (A great big thank you to his parents whom I did not see)

My ds's passed the ball back and forth as we walked over the bridge back to BC. Although we flew, and I had no way of packing that bball, we carried it home with us for sentimental reasons. Now every time I see that ball laying in the yard after the kids have played with it, it reminds me of that special night at WDW and the unexpected magic that a young man added to our vacation.

We have great expectations of WDW and it's CM's but has another vacationer added a little extra magic to your vacations?

Please share as it is depressing reading about the rude people that Im sure were there during our vacation also, but I dont remember because of that one young man.

When we went in May, my DS 7 wanted desperately to ride Test Track, but the line was really long and the Fastpasses were too far out. We decided that he and I would go single rider while DH and DS 2 waited. We talked about the fact that we probably would not even be in the same car and what to do when he got off and everything, and he was sure he didn't mind going alone. We knew the purpose of the singles line and weren't trying to cheat it.

Well, when we got up to the ride, we were going to be in different cars. Instead, this really nice lady in the line with us switched places with DS so that we could be in the same car. It was so thoughtful of her to offer to do that and I'm so thankful she did. I'm glad I didn't miss out on hearing DS enjoy the ride for the first time! I was really touched by her small act of kindness.

Last August, in Epcot's World Showcase, in a torrential downpour (one of many!!)...I was trying to get a shot of my dh and dd in their raingear. Along came two of the nicest men and offered to take a 'family' photo for us!! It's one of our favorite shots from last year. I'm not in very many photos. Of course, dh thought they were trying to steal my camera...yep, sure honey...my little 35mm point and shoot, sure they are!! He knows better now!

I feel the consistently nicest thing that we do (and that has been done for us!) is offering to take family photos! It is so nice to have someone offer to do this for you, instead of having to ask, particularly for non-English speaking guests.

This wasn't done to us, but we were leaving MK one day a couple of trips ago in the end of June and it was hot. We weren't going to be able to use our fast pass for Splash Mtn. As we were walking toward Fantasyland, I was looking for a group of people to give our passes to. I saw a medium size group walking toward Splash Mtn and asked them if they wanted our fastpasses. That guy looked so happy. It felt really good. Unfortunately, I really don't have high expectations for random acts of kindness while I'm in Disney, but you never know - Pay It Forward....

When we were at AK in 1998 my 4-1/2 year old dd fell asleep in my arms while we were waiting for the bus. It took so long for the bus to arrive that it was quite crowded, but we didn't want to wait for another.

A gentleman gave up his seat for me to sit with sleeping dd. I never expected it, but it sure was great. I had no idea if I would make it standing all the way to POR holding 40 pounds of dead weight.

Every time I'm in Disney I repeatly try and have families get together in one photo wheather in front of the castle or with a character. I'm more than happy to do this because I'm so greatful for all the people behind me (I go solo a lot) that take pictures of me with the characters!

Maybe because I'm a young adult aka teenager (19 y/o going to 20 on next visit) that people think I'm going to steal the camera (I'M NOT) they're a little skiddish.

Doing things like taking pictures for people gives me the greatest joy while I'm a Disney World, plus I learn how to use different types of cameras and I meet new people.

Ah, it's always fun when you unknowingly ask a non-English speaker to take a picture! The pointing, mumbling and back and forth smiling that ensue are hilarious!

While no normal visitor has done anything out of the way for me, I have been known to give out my Fastpasses if we are leaving and wont be able to use them. Ill give up my seat anytime I see a woman whether she is holding a child or not. To me its just common courtesy. Standing in line with a bunch of people I dont know and I see a child or adult that is looking down and in a funk, I will try to get them talking/laughing If I see a CM that is having a rough time with guests, Ill talk to them. Heck, I even tried to buy one an Icecream that she was selling. The guy in front of me was a total jerk to her and I wanted to kick him in the back of the knee, but I didnt. I told her what I wanted then said "and get one for yourself too" She declined, but I think she really appreciated it.

Last May we were in Epcot and DD was enjoying the sidewalk fountains. I took and few pictures but then ran out of film. I started talking to this other mom while waiting for DH to come back from getting a margarita so I could go buy more film. When he returned I told him where I was going and the mom I had been talking to overheard me. She gave me a roll of film. I got some of the best pictures of our vacation with that film.

We were taking the bus from POR to AK. We were at the third bus stop so the bus was pretty crowded by the time we got on. We could only find one seat, so I sat with DS2 on my lap while DH and DD5 stood. A woman across the aisle from us made her teenage son stand so my DD could sit down. Now, DD is rather shy, especially around adults she doesn't know, so she really didn't want to sit there. The woman started asking her about what we were going to do at AK, what DD had seen so far on her trip, who was her favorite character, etc. By the time we got to AK, they were so deep in conversation, they barely noticed we were there! :p I was so grateful that she not only let her sit down but that she also realized that DD was nervous and made her feel comfortable! Plus, we didn't have to endure whining from DD about standing the whole time!

Last month we stayed at Swan and there was a convention of Anheiser Busch executives going on, they could be recognized by these blinking beer bottle cap things that were handed out to the attendees to wear, naturally, I got one by telling the hostess that I was AB's best customer! ANYWAY, one night in PI, in the Adventurer's Club, we were sitting in on the show in the Mask Room, which was jammed full of people, one of the conventioneers came in and bought everyone in the Mask Room a Bud Light. Hardly a lifesaving gesture, but very generous considering the capacity crowd in the room.

20 years ago in MK, when DS21 was a mere babe and would only eat raisins and french fries, a number of very kind moms ran to my side with Desitin ointment to help him thru a rather painful diaper rash - ick!!!! I really appreciated it (and I'm sure he did too)!!!!

We were sitting at the bus stop at the Beach Club during dd's first trip. The woman next to us was going through her pin book, and dd (almost 5) was looking at her pins. She dropped a Lion King pin and it went under the bench. Dd started to bend down to look for it, and the lady asked her if she could pick it up for her, then she gave it to her as a thank you. It was very nice of her, and dd was so thrilled.

Last Aug we were at MGM and my DH & DS9 wanted to see fantasmic but I decided to take our sleeping dd3 back to the room. This seemed simple enough until I was ready to get on the bus and I realized that she was sound asleep and the basket under the stroller was filled with my diaper bag, camera bag and purchases. There was no way I could manage it all. Another young father carried my stroller & all my paraphanelia onto the bus while I held DD, he got off with me and got us all settled and then went back to the bus line. He wasn't even staying at the Contemporary - he caught the next bus for his own hotel!!::MinnieMo :moped:

We were waiting for the parade at MK one day. My dd was 9 and my nephew was 7. We had staked out a spot early. About 5 minutes before the parade started, a school group came along and started pushing and elbowing to move us. It was hard for me to hold my spot and my dd's and nephew's too. I'm usually good at blocking but there were too many of them. I could still see, but they couldn't because the kids in the school group were taller. A very nice lady saw what was happening took my dd and nephew and let them stand in front of her.

We always give up our seats on the crowded buses to parents with little ones. Last trip, dd, then 14, had a passenger's 3 year old sleeping in her lap on the way home from Hoop De Doo. (I told her she couldn't keep her, lol)

There is a lady somewhere out there that I would really like to thank, and I am sorry that I didnt get her name. Unfortunately, during my trip last year, my Mother passed. I had gotten the news and had to go down to the front desk to make some arrangements by fax. As I stood in line quietly loosing it on my cell phone, she just leaned over and held me and let me cry for a few minutes. No words except 1 quiet I'm sorry. I cry now, wanting to thank her for what she did and didnt say.Yes, there are good people out there.

We were at Stormalong Bay a couple years ago and DH "buried" my dd in the sand. It was really cute, but we didn't have our camera with is. Another DVC member I had been chatting with offered to take her picture and email it to us. She did.

One trip a few years ago, it was DH birthday.

We were on our way out of Epcot, after Illuminations. We were walking with others, naturally, and this lady ask if we wanted her backstage passes to Test Track. What a nice Birthday present. for DH.

Earlier in the evening, we were buying champagne in France. DH decided he would buy a glass for this lady that was standing in line. He said he was buying it because it was his Birthday. Turns out it was her Birthday too.

I guess it's true what they say, what comes around goes around.

And it's nice when nice things go around.

The world would be a better place if people acted like they do outside of Disney as well as while they are there.

There are so many pleasureable experiences when you are at Disney, way to go folks.

My ds (then 5) and myself were waiting in line at a pin cart to see the trading book. While waiting my ds had picked out the pin he wanted and was next to the book. The little boy (9 or 10) in front of us picked that pin and was about to trade for it when he heard my ds say awwww! The boy turned to my ds and said "here you can have it"

My ds still talks about how nice that was and shares the story whenever he shows someone his pin book.
