What was/is your wedding song?

Wow I see I am the 4th poster to have Endless Love by Diana Ross and Lionel Ritchie. We also had Kenny Rogers Through The years. Dated dh 9 years before we got married, so I figured we already had alot of years so to speak.

We like At Last as well but a good friend of ours just got married this summer and that was there song! If the don't come to St. Thomas we may use it!

Our wedding song was Betcha by golly wow...........by The Stylistics. We have been married almost 9 years and I love watching the video of that 1st dance. I could b so angry at him and hear that song and I forget completely y i was mad!

Ours was "Love of my Life" by Sammy Kershaw.

Beautiful song, haven't heard it in a while though. Should dust off the CD ;)

Another Could I have this dance by Ann Murray here. :teeth:
Last dance was Last Dance by Donna Summer.

What an appropriate thread! We were just at my friends wedding last night and I brought up the fact that tim and I don't have "a song." He suggested we "let our song choose us instead of the other way around." I don't know, I'm racking my brain. ;) I figure I have 2 years to think of one, so it's ok. My mom's pulling for Grow Old Along With Me. She loves it and thinks it would be perfect. I'm still thinking. Thanks for the suggestions though! They're getting my brain going. :)

Oh, and my friend (who got married last night, actually) had "You're My Best Friend" by Queen as their first dance. She and her DH were best friends for 3 years until they realized they were more than that. It was really cute.

Ours was Cross my Heart by George Strait. Beautiful song, though like someone else said you can't go wrong with Van Morrison. I love Someone Like You, I think that would be a great song to have.

Gosh.. I had a whole wedding CD...We played music while the guests were arriving..I wanted a traditional ceremony, but not a bunch of sappy crap beforehand that made all the single people in the place want to gnaw a slash their wrists or stab themselves.

"I Swear" by John Michael Montgomery
"All You Wanted" by Michelle Branch
"I Will Remember You" by Sarah McLachlan
"Only Time" by Enya
"Chances Are" by Martina McBride and Bob Segar
"The Way You Look Tonight" by Tony Bennett
"Angel" by Sarah McLachlan
"Cowboy Take Me Away" by the Dixie Chicks
"It's Your Love" by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
"No Place That Far" by Sara Evans and Vince Gill
"When You Say Nothing At All" by Alison Kraus

"Valentine" by Martina McBride for the candlelighting
"Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by Bach for the seating of the family
"Canon in D" by Pachelbel for the bridal party
"Bridal Chorus" by Wagner, string version, for me!
"Wedding March" by Mendelssohn for the recessional

Our first dance was 'To Make You Feel My Love" by Garth Brooks...I love that song to this day!!

'I'll Still Be Loving You' by Restless Heart - Married in 1992

I'll be yours until the sun doesn't shine,
Til time stands still,
until the winds don't blow.

When today is just a memory to me
I know,
I'll still be loving you.

Brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it.

My DH is a big country music fan so I wanted to pick something country for him. I heard this song on the radio but didn't catch the name of the band. So I went to my local music store and sang a bit of it for a young clerk. She knew the song and the band. I was so grateful. I'm sure she wish she had never been tortured by my singing.

Our first dance was "Beauty and the Beast." All the ceremony music was celtic themed; faire songs, Enya.

Pledging My Love, the Aaron Neville version.
