What was/is your wedding song? DF and I are trying to find one... so far I really like Into the Mystic by Van Morrison!!

Wow. That was our wedding song 18 years ago this August. We still find it amazingly beautiful - can't go wrong with Van Morrison! Our first choice was The Rolling Stones Wild Horses, which held signficance for us too, but we ended up going w/Into The Mystic for our wedding song.

I'm single, so I don't have a wedding song but when I saw "The Flame" mentioned I wanted to jump in and ask a question......
although the refrain by itself is beautiful, look at the first verse

Why would you choose a wedding song that says "I can't believe you're gone" in the lyrics ??? This was my friend's wedding song many years ago and after the fact I asked her the same question ..... she said she never really paid attention to the verses!

I also know someone who used "Saving all my love for you" by Whitney Houston - which was about a woman having an affair !

I agree with you, spb999, I have often laughed at the choices of first wedding songs. Especially those who choose "I will always love you" by Whitney Houston (or Dolly Parton). For heaven's sake, it didn't work out, they split up, that's what the song is about!!! I guess people just don't listen.

My "wedding song" at the reception was "More" by Bobby Darin, because it's just so cool, and I love the old stuff. And "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra was next.

On another note, while we signed our papers, our "in service" wedding song was "If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife", which cracked everybody up. So, we're a little off beat, but "More" is cool!

we got married in 1983 eith Endless Love (dianna ross and lionel ritchie) and Just you and me (Crystal Gayle and the late Eddie Rabbitt) sung at the wedding and our first dance song was "Always and Forever".
I still enjoy listening whenever I happen to come across one of them on the radio. Timeless......
