What to request at POP?

We have a late flight in on Jan 29th. Looking to check in online but was wondering what the best things to mark would be? We paid for a standard room but would like to be as close to food and transportation as possible. Suggestions?

Thanks

Polly

If you want to be close to anything pay for the preferred room. POP really isn't that big but the non-preferred rooms are not close. We like the 50's building---in the back looking over toward AofA---it is really quiet. Big statue of Lady out front.

It sounds like you're talking about bldg 3. That's the one with Tramp in front. Lady is in front of bldg 1.

I have always asked to be "near the computer pool" as that is the one we use most. We usually end up pretty close to the food and bus stops in a standard room. We have stayed multiple times this way with good results. The one trip I didn't request, we ended up poolside near the bowling pin pool; a noisier room there never was!

I would maybe request 70's building number 10 to be close to transportation and food in a standard room.

We were in building 8 in the 90s section, and we were only about a 5 min walk to Classic Hall. If we cut across the parking lot, it was even shorter to the bus stop.

All of the 60's are not preferred. We had a lake view room in the 60's that was very convenient. We always ask for a first floor room also-less walking to get to stairs or elevators and then back to your room.

I agree with this. We had a lakeview room in building 4 a few years ago and it was perfect. We were on the second floor just around the corner from the elevators. We came out at the pool and it was a short walk to the main building and laundry. We quite often didn't even use the elevators because the stairwell is really easy to walk up, it's not steep. I would ask for a lakeview room in building 4 or 5, building 3 or 6 lakeview would work to I believe.

Here is a link to the layout of Pop, but it is from 2012. I think it is still correct

We had a lakeview room in building 6 (first floor) all requested when making the ressie on the phone and via online check in. I thought it was a good location. No more than a 5 minute walk to Classic Hall. The other good location (especially since you are going in January and won't be scorching), building 8 is in a good spot. Just cut across the parking lot and you're at Classic Hall and in the buses.

If you don't like your location at check in, you can always ask if there is something closer to Classic Hall available. The worst thing they can say is no!
