Any advice on what to do with teens on a non-park day? We're staying at SSR in a few weeks and have been to WDW too many times to count, so I like to plan something each trip that's different.Maybe visit a different resort for half a day. My oldest DD's aren't crazy about the BC/BW area, however. We've done DTD and DQ many times. We won't have a car so would prefer something easy to get to. You guys are always such great help, thanks in advance :)

From SSR, getting to other resorts is pretty easy. Walk, bus or boat to DTD and catch a bus back to the other resort. I like to spend time at Fort Wilderness. You can fish, go horseback riding, rent bikes, go to the petting zoo, stay for the campfire sing-a-long and movie, watch the Electrical WAter Pageant, take a hay ride, take a carriage ride or even try the dinner show. There is also a new Segway tour of Fort Wilderness that features the off-road Segways, which is about $60, but sounds like it might be fun.

Rent Sea Raycers at the Contemporary. We did this with our 16 year old son, and at the end of the 7 day trip, he said that was his favorite day. You can also rent a speed boat with a driver and towing a ski tube. We have not done this but saw other people doing it and having a blast. Good luck! P.S. do not rent the sea raycers at Downtown Disney. Since the lake is much smaller there, they tune down the speed on the boats.

Can you give me a little direction on where to find out more?
Thanks

Any of the resorts on water (Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club, etc.) will rent the Sea Raycers. They're one or two people boats, and very easy to drive (only one driver per boat). A couple of years ago there was an AP discount, and I'm pretty sure there's also a DVC discount. Check the Portable Perks you get when you check in.

Here's the information from All Ears Net:

Sea Raycers -- small craft that can speed up to 22 mph. Minimum age is 12, height requirement is 5 feet. Combined maximum weight limit for all passengers is 320 pounds. All drivers under the age of 18 MUST have a parent or legal guardian sign a release. Drivers 18 years of age must provide ID with birth date. $24 per 1/2 hour.

We have had teens really like to do the mini golf venues at Fantasia Gardens and Summer winterland (or whatever it is). Fantasia gardens also has that challenge course, and our DS loved that as an older teen. You would get there by either going to DTD and taking a bus from there to Swan/Dolphin, or to Epcot and take the boat or walk to Swan/Dolphin and the mini golf is across the street.

We stayed at OKW in June and took DD13 and her BFF. I couldn't drag them out of the quiet pool and the community hall. They had the best time at both places.

We are staying at SSR and BWV starting Aug. 15th and we have two teens and an 8 year old. We plan on trying both water parks this time. Have never been to a water park. Maybe give that a try.

Go to a movie at DTD. We like to go to that theater since it has such great seating. Or play miniature golf.
