Okay, we have ressies at the following:

T-Rex
50's PTC
Todd English bluezoo
Sanaa
Be Our Guest
Boatwrights

Budgetwise, this is really too many table service places and I'd like to cut two out. Issue is, I don't know which! I don't want to cut T-Rex because of the overall experience and that will be my 8 year olds first stop on her first Disney trip and will get the party started. Bluezoo will be for just my husband and I and that is a no-cut. And Be Our Guest can't be cut because of the one time only eperience factor :)

So that leaves 50's, Sanaa, and Boatwrights. Who has eaten at all 3 that can advise me on which one or two to skip??

TIA!!! :thanks:

I'd skip Boatrights. Sanna would be next in my list.
Actually I would cut TRex first followed by Boatrights, but you say you have to go to TRex.
Good Luck

Haven't had dinner at Sanaa or Boatwrights, but 50PTC is also a MUST! Your 8 year old will have a blast! The food is great and the waiters are hilarious!

Okay that's what others have said! I'm in it for mostly the experience. I'm thinking that cutting Sanaa and Boatwrights is the way to go. We have some amazing Indian restaurants near us so I may not be missing out on much by cutting Sanaa...

You don't think T-Rex would be awesome for the kids?? This trip is about them. First and last one we will get to do, so I want big experiences wherever possible! This will be our first stop off the plane, DTD then here.

I love 50's, the kids are totally into T Rex and we're going there first night too. BOG is on for us next trip. I have never eaten at the others, but if it's about the kids, I'd cut two of those :) Have a great time!!

I would cut T Rex and Boatwrights.

If T Rex is a must do then I would cut Boatwrights and Sanaa.

Not particularly. TRex is a variation of the theme of Rainforest Café, which is in many cities in the US. The food is nothing special. There are so many restaurants that are totally "Disney" while in WDW that those are what I would choose. Do you have an ADR for each park day? I would prefer someplace like SciFi Dine in in DHS, or Coral Reef in Epcot, etc

We have a Rainforest Cafe in NJ (I think it's still there?). We went once. I did not like it at all and I'm not very picky. T Rex is a lot like Rainforest Cafe. It's never been on our list.

Like a PP mentioned, there are so many other places that are totally Disney and are higher on my list.

We dont' have tickets for our first day there, we land at 10:30 am so we were going to do DTD. So the first Disney experience would have to be eating somewhere there which is why I picked it. The rest seemed more geared towards adults. Maybe we should just get quick service or food truck and just mill around?? I just thought TRex would be so cool! She's never been to a Rainforest Cafe either. :)

Our DS9 liked T-Rex. The food was typical fern bar, but it wasn't bad. They had some tasty adult beverages. The inside is really cool. I am glad we did it at least once. Since you have never done Rainforest either, I would keep T-Rex. It's definitely an atmosphere place, not a gourmet place. Anyway, you are already doing an adult night.

How about a character buffet at one of the resorts? Nothing screams Disney like a character meal. Especially for a once in a lifetime trip.

I know Chef Mickey's gets a lot of flack on the boards but DS15 requests it every trip. It's his favorite restaurant on property. We did it on arrival day last trip but BOG trumped it this year. It's not gourmet by any means but we've enjoyed it.

1900 PF at GF has Cinderella, Prince Charming and the step mother and step sisters.

Hmmmmm...I'm going to have to look into those! Thank you!!

Sanaa is my favorite restaurant on property and Boatwright's is right up there... Your must-keep's are the ones I would be cutting if your list was mine, so alas...I'm no help. Whatever you decide...Enjoy!

Haha isn't it funny how different everyone is!? Maybe I just need to find a way to stretch the budget!

Isn't T-Rex a chain restaurant? I'm pretty sure there are T-Rex-es around the U.S. Based on the options in your first post, I'd dump 50PTC.

My DH, DS8, and myself enjoyed T-Rex last year on our first visit there, the food is decent, it's a fun (albeit loud) environment, and the portions are huge (you could probably split a meal and save money that way). I would cut 50s PTC over cutting Sanaa, because Sanaa is also an experience in that you get to watch the animals wander the savannah while you eat (which in my mind would be neater for the kids than the antics of 50s), though I do enjoy 50s PTC. I haven't eaten at Boatwright's yet, but I would likely cut that because it is a little more out of the way to get to, though I don't know where on property you are staying, which can have an effect on these things.

Respectfully Im with many others here.........TRex doesn't really screem DISNEY to me. As a first Disney experience something like Chef Mickey's or even Ohana are much more appropriate if the Disney experience is the thing. You could also do Mickey's Backyard BBQ, if you extend the budet) or the character meal they have at the GF (whose name escapes me as I type this :p ). Alas you asked and the danger in that is there are a multitude of opinions on the subject you raised.

In the end this is you're trip so its your choice. May you have a truely magical vacation pixiedust:
