What to bring into parks?

Wallet, sunglasses, maybe a tiny bottle of sunscreen, phone. Nothing else. Once my kids grew out of diaper age, I stopped bringing an annoying bag or fanny pack, and have never missed it since.

I could never go bagless--I'm too afraid of stuff falling out of my pockets. I have to have at least a small bag. But then I also have to carry inhalers with me, and those things are not comfortable to have in your pocket.

I was hoping to adjust to contacts before my next trip. Otherwise, I have to carry glasses and sunglasses. I would wear my glasses all day, but they hurt my head. I would skip the regular glasses altogether, but distances are rough. Contacts are better, except when my allergies are flaring....sooo....

So, it's a fanny pack for me. I also carry chapstick, sunscreen stick, backup battery, a couple bucks, and a credit card.

Just back, no checking of bags anymore - just randomly. I used a very lightweight crossbody which held my phone, lip balm, sunshades, tiny wallet with cc, small cash, dr. lic. med. & ins. cards, clip on sanitizer, very compact umbrella (mostly for sun). First week of June - very dry, good temps, low crowds, with light rain one day - gorgeous week!

My bagless carry; wear a Magic Band old style, small wallet with ID, some cash, one CC, insurance card, then my cellphone. Sometimes I carry something in my hand, like a water bottle, or umbrella. That's it. If it is something others would like to try, it is indeed best to find clothes with pockets that either zip or button, and it's not as hard as one would think, even for women's clothes, the other option is deep pockets.

I wouldn't carry the go-pro unless there's a specific plan to use it. I also usually go back to the room at some point and just recharge my phone then (I turn on battery saver at the beginning of the day and make an effort to stay off my phone whenever humanly possible), so no charger.

I go bagless about 50% of the time, it depends on the weather. If I do, I have a couple of skorts that have both cargo pockets that velcro and zipped pockets. I wear my MB, my phone has one of those little sleaves on it that holds my CC, DL. I put a little cash in a snack zip lock in one of the pockets (just so I don't accidently pull it out of my pocket if reaching for something else). A disposable poncho in a zip lock bag with all the air squished out. A small round plastic pill box. A zip lock with a few individual hand wipes and bandaids. Portable lip stick charger. I carry a water bottle. Hat on my head, sunglasses on my face and reading glasses around my neck.

If I know it's going to do more than just a small shower and a disposable poncho isn't going to cut it, I carry either a fanny pack with most of the above and a larger poncho in a wet bag and I switch out the lip stick charger for a bigger one. I dangle my water bottle off that. Or if I know it's going to rain buckets with wind, I carry a small backpack (a little bigger than a Loungefly) with all of the above plus an umbrella. Or if it's going to be cooler at some points I'll also carry the back pack to put a sweater in.

I never go to the parks without some sort of rain gear. I've found umbrellas are great unless the wind is blowing then they are useless but in combination with a poncho I stay totally dry except my feet. The disposable ponchos work fine for those quick 5 min. showers but if it's really coming down hard they just stick to me and I usually get just as wet as if I weren't wearing anything. My umbrella, wet bag and water bottle have carabiners on them so I can dangle them off any kind of bag if I don't have room inside the bag. Lately, most of the time except winter, I've been rocking the fanny pack. And I wear it as a waist bag and not crossbody. Crossbodies tend to hurt my shoulders. I do have a water bottle holder that has a place for my phone and another small pocket for a few cards so sometimes I'll wear that instead of the fanny pack if I know a disposable poncho is going to do the trick and I don't want to lug around my water bottle in my hand.

I'm a minimalist and usually go solo but even still I like to have some sort of bag. Carrying everything in my pockets just seems bulky and I'd be worried things would fall out.

I always, always have an ID and my insurance card on me. One of those things where you never need them until you do and it makes sense to just carry it.

Phone, thin wallet (with a $20 bill if needed), sunglasses, poncho, lip balm, sun screen and my reusable 20oz Hydro flask. I drink so much water I think I'd be stressed out if I had to rely on gulping down a cup at a quick serve. I like to just drink and refill throughout the day. I've never gone in summer but October - May all of the above do the trick. And it all fits in a pretty small cross-body bag.

When we went our portable battery charger kept getting us sent to the go through your bags line so we stopped bringing it with us and didn't get sent to that line again. I always bring spare socks for me just in case. I also bring one of the stick balms for blister prevention and bandaids.

I never bring a bag - if it doesn't fit in cargo shorts it's not coming! I bring a slimmed-down walled with ID and a credit card, phone, disposable rain poncho (do yourself a favor and don't get the really cheap ones, just the kinda cheap ones), case for glasses/sunglasses (I switch constantly), travel-sized sunscreen and hand-sanitizer, and a plastic pocket comb. That's everything!

I would not want to go into the park without my reusable water bottle so I would at least need a way to strap that around me. Other than that, your original list seems good to me plus a small chapstick with SPF in it.

I don’t find walking around with a compact umbrella any worse at Disney than walking around at home with one either.
I hate walking through crowds with them period. Disney or NYC. People lack basic spacial awareness with them - even compact ones go outside your head and can poke people.

Without a bag---

Possible:
DL (will I be carded if I get alcohol? I'm in my 50s, but don't know what the policy is) not needed. I would have a pic of it just incase.
Portable Charger for phone (about the size of my phone) yes but only if smaller than phone
Extra CC (although I'll have charging privileges to the room) no
Extra socks (in case what I'm wearing get wet) no
GoPro camera (mount/strap?) no
Water bottle (either plastic disposable or aluminum reusable) I like to have one but I wouldn't without a bag
ETA: Cooling towel no

Unfortunately, this will not work. I got asked for ID at dinner on our last trip and they would not serve me. I did have a copy of my license on my phone and my birthdate info in MDE, but they would not allow it. I'm clearly decades over 21, and the manager came over to apologize but said the policy is that once they have asked for ID they are absolutely not allowed to serve you unless you have the physical ID on you.

I get it...but it has worked for us. So it will depend on the person...but we are in our early 40's so never even thought to have the actual ID.

It shouldn't have worked. I work in the alcohol industry and we have to take Save Serve tests every few years. Photos of an ID should definitely not be taken as a form of ID.

In my small cross body bag
-Phone
-Back up CC, gift cards, KTTW
-Wet wipes
-Small water bottle
-Ponchos
-Lip balm + small sunscreen
-Sunglasses are on my head or in my face

That's it.

I try to be a minimalist but I just can never do it.

If I know it’s going to rain all day (we go in November so it’s not as common) we bring real lightweight rain jackets.

I envy my husband who only has his phone in his pocket. But he does offer to hold my bag for me.

My daughters carry their own stuff usually in one of their many themed Loungefly backpacks.

Band-Aids is a good one. I usually put a couple in the little ziplock that my rain poncho comes in. I needed one once, and didn't want to walk all the way to first aid, so I did the old tightly-wrapped napkin thing, but it would have been more convenient to have an adhesive bandange.
