thelobstershanty: In Hawaii...Spam became very important during WWII as a food source...it goes really well with rice...which is another staple. The State of Hawaii is the largest consumer of Spam in the States....I'm not sure that's something to be proud of but its the truth

We use Spam to make something called Spam musubi which is rice with a piece of spam...usually some teriyaki sauce or furikaki mix all wrapped up in nori ( seaweed). If I'm not too tired I make some up in the mornings to take into the parks for the kids.
You find spam all over here....from McDonald's to nice restaurants.
