What "theme" is screaming out to be made into a DVC resort?

So, we have the animal theme, the wilderness theme, the beach club theme, etc. etc. etc.

If you were developing a new vacation club resort for Rutgers, what theme would YOU create?

A french village ala Beauty and the Beast or an Atlantis style Little Nemo resort.

A mansion with "The Girls Next Door". :love1:
OMG was that unexpected and hilarious! I laughed out loud!!! You know, it may not be that far fetched! I hear Holly, Bridget and Kendra are looking for a new home? :confused3 ;)

To answer the OP's question, I think they could do a cool place around the 7 ancient wonders of the world. I also think a princess resort would be cool, too! Kind of combines a bunch of things around current resorts and the parks, but I would definitely stay at a pricess resort! :goodvibes

There was a similar thread to this a few months back (looked for it but couldn't find it in my subscription folders) My vote was for a Princess and Pirate resort...

I would love to see an Asian themed resort. I could see a buffet themed around Mulan and a signature dining experience at a Disney version of Benihanas. :woohoo:

I still want to see a frontierland/Davey Crockett DVC in the Smokey Mtns.

It seems like DVC likes to alternate between upscale beach house - (BWV, BCV, VB), rustic (VWL, AKV, HHI, GCV), and apartment condo (OKW, SSR, BLT?)

How about a more Southern, woodsy, beachy kind of place. I would love to see a beautiful resort with the reeds coming out of the marshy water. It could be a lot more natural in a Port Orleans OR Hilton Head kind of way. BTW, I think POR has the best layout of any "Condo" type building.

I know that Disney already has VWL and AKV, but this would be rustic in a much different sort of way.

I know Disney is going for MORE expensive resorts for DVC, but I would so love a DVC at POR.

I think they ought to build one out here in AZ. Grand Canyon area with access to Sedona. Rustic Ranch style with riding stables and trout fishing. Think Triple R all you Spin and Marty fans.

Another one similar to OKW - larger rooms, park near your villa, for the same points as OKW. Add elevators to the buildings. Build it adjacent to the new theme park (;) )

Mediterranean. The Hilly Village of Winding Streets..the mickey eared windmills tell you you are in the Greek themed Village of Mickeynos.

I definitely like a few of these ideas. A medieval/fantasy theme would be cool, but hard to pull off in an upscale way. It would walk the fine line of being too cheesy. I would love to see what they could do with it, though.

The Asian idea seems the most realistic, and if I recall, that was a theme that was on the table back when Walt was planning Disney World. It would be easy to make such a resort upscale while still adding elements that would attract the kids.

I went to Bedtime Stories today and thought that perhaps we'd see a preview of an upcoming Disney movie that would not only excite my family but also inspire rides and perhaps a themed hotel. No such luck. That one movie with the talking gerbils looks horrible. Witch Mountain looks amusing but nothing special.....It seems like Disney's animation and feature movie divisions have been stuck in the mud for a while.

My vote would be for something Asian themed around Mulan... or French themed around Beauty and the Beast...

A European hotel would be cool. Something like the Poly where each wing was a different country from Europe. That way you could experience each culture at one hotel!

You could have the Greece side on the water, with the canals flowing into Italy, Ireland could be on the Golf Course side of the resort, the main resort could be a French Chateau, you could have Switzerland right behind Blizzard beach or EE. (maybe even they could bring in one of those indoor ski resorts to that section).

Kerickson - The CB is 1/2 way there, pirate theme...
------------------------------------

I recall this being discussed a while back (a couple of years ago) and 2 of the idea's I liked were:

- A Hero & Villan themed resort (attached to the new hero & villian, all thrill ride, park)

- Nemo themed Resort - each section as a sea (7 seas) and have the resort itself a large waterpark (with a lazy river around entire thing) exclusive to resort members.

I liked the idea of a tuscan/mediterranean villas.

I think we are all looking for something really well themed, with great landscaping, and very relaxing.

It amazes me that over the years my favorite thing about Disney has become the landscaping.

This would be very cool!!!:thumbsup2

A Pixar-themed resort would be great! Different Pixar films as the theme of each floor of the resort, maybe 4 or 5 floors total. One floor would be called "Monstropolis", one would be called "Toy Story", one would be "The Deep Blue Sea", one would be based on Cars, and maybe one for The Incredibles.

In this Pixar-themed resort would be a restaurant that would serve a character breakfast and a character dinner. The breakfast would have Mike & Sulley from Monsters, Inc. and Woody the Cowboy & Buzz from Toy Story. The dinner would have superheroes from The Incredibles and Lightning McQueen & Mater from Cars, although those would be tough going table to table, maybe the Cars characters would just have to be in the lobby for photos. I don't know how they would incorporate the fish from Finding Nemo but it is Disney and I am sure they would find a way. These characters could also be at the dinner.

The pool could be themed like the sea in Finding Nemo. The quick-service restaurant could have themed menu items like "Shark's bite fish sandwich" or something like that. There could also perhaps be a signature restaurant, or even a Dinner Show based on the Pixar films, getting the audience involved as well.

Maybe this would all be too cheesy for a DVC resort, I don't know. I know they have All-Star Movies as a Value resort already but I still think this Pixar idea for a DVC resort would be cute!
