What "theme" is screaming out to be made into a DVC resort?

Whens the Vermont Ski Resort DVC coming?

Would be perfect...skiing/snowboards/sledding in the winter. Biking/Running/ Ben and Jerrys testing/site seeing in the summer.

I'd like an Atlantis (one in the Bahamas) type resort, man made beach with water you could actually swim in and a built in water park.

I bet they announce a Poly DVC. They'll already have the "in" on decoration and furniture with the Hawaii project. You know Disney, work smarter not harder.

Not saying that's what I would like to see happen, just what I think probably will (@ WDW anyways).

I would love to see one Asian with a desert/oasis type theme. Lots of different things you could do with pyramids, palaces and water features (throw in some Aladdin references) and Mediterranean food restaurants (of course serving chicken nuggets too....) :cool2:

I'd love to see an Asian or Venetian themed DVC...but if they announced Poly, I'd be very happy with that too. For now I'll just enjoy our AKV's.

Castle with a small village - the village would have cheaper points.

Mexico pyramid - with village

China - design like forbidden city - tent shapes.

an under water one - little Mermaid or Nemo theme. of course that might be better for a beach location than theme park.

Neverland one - like the treehouses - only more like tree houses. Peter pan theme - especially with the new emphasis on Tink and the faries.

I would love to see an "Atlantis" type resort where each room would have an underwater view.:thumbsup2

Can you imagine, waking up in the morning with a shark or a large sea turtle swimming by your room?:cool1:

I think they would have to be careful about theming a hotel around characters that a recent movie has made popular because it could end up being out-of-date within just a few years.

I'm hoping for a DVC tied to the Grand Floridian.

I would definitely like to see that too. I would have preferred it over BLT, personally.

Do most people agree that Disney is probably more likely to add DVC resorts to already existant resorts rather than building all new ones? (Specifically in Florida)

don't know - since building new in Hawaii - they might build new at WDW or at least in Florida.

that is hard to predict.

that say either new or old - it will have some rooms to rent - like the one in Hawaii.

so a DVC solo resort like OKW or SSR - no don't think they will do that again.

My feeling is that bay lake towers is testing the waters for another monorail dvc. I think it will be even more upscale than bay lake, attached to the poly or the grand floridian.
What I think would be fun is the idea for a wine country type resort and instead of concierge, have part of it be a bed and breakfast resort. Think CA napa valley idea. That would be gorgeous and who knows, maybe they could have a vineyard somewhere and bottle an exclusive wine that is featured there. lol and I don't even drink wine.

I think they will do the opposite and try a value dvc, possibly at Pop Century as it has the unfinished section that just seemed to have stopped for unknown reasons when everything else around it continued to complete. Pop would be the ideal location with the vast majority of the infrasructure already in place. My guess is that the "value" option at the AKL is the test for a value DVC resort. Then again I could be completely wrong...

I hope so. I have been waiting for a DVC resort attached to the Polynesian. I would definitely buy points there.

(I was a little disappointed when they announced BLT, I was hoping for "Villages of the Polynesian".)
