What songs do you have on your IPod that you think nobody else has?

Here are some others that I have...

Desert Moon by Dennis DeYoung
Forever All Over Again by Night Ranger
Holding Out for a Hero by Bonnie Tyler
Love of a Lifetime by Firehouse
Never Surrender by Corey Hart
Insensitive by Jann Arden

Got those two! :thumbsup2

The entire soundtrack to the following:
Phantom of the Opera
Hair
Les Miserables
Godspell
Chess
Jesus Christ Superstar
Evita

I also have:
Play that Funky Music White Boy
Brick House
Atomic Dog
Get Up on the Down Stroke
Rubberband Man

and other Funk classics.

Anyone have the Opera-funk combo?

XTC - Dear God
Book of Love - the entire Book of Love CD plus Tubular Bells (a take on the Exorcist song.)
and more Wiggles songs than any one person should own. But I'll guess anyone else with a toddler will have those.

That XTC song is great! I like it as well.

"C is for Cookie" by Cookie Monster
The Manamahnah Song- of course :)
Octopusses' Garden - Ringo Starr

And I also have a lot of "Rockabye baby!" which are rock songs done as lullabys - the Coldplay "Clocks" one is great! Also Bob Marley ones are awesome.

I've been downloading for the baby!

I also love a DJ called Kaskade - wow he is so dreamy and his music is very good

Chicane - an ambient techno

Spa music for when I went into labor like: Jens Buchert, AIR, Llewellyn and Thievery Corporation

Toy Matinee's one and only album: Toy Matinee
The Badless - River Songs
Michael Stanley - Cabin Fever and Ladies Choice
Joe Satriani - The Electric Joe Satriani
Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai - G3:Live in Concert
Just about everything Little Feat has ever done
Just about everything Johnny Lang has done

Lots more...

Here are a few, not exactly rare, but not mentioned already...

Salt in My Tears - Martin Briley
Hot Child in the City - Nick Gilder
Rumours in the Air - Night Ranger
Lunatic Fringe - Red Rider
Perfect Way - Scritti Politti

I have one Michael Stanley song--He don't love you. I never heard of him until I went to BGSU and all of the Cleveland people played him all of the time.
I have a lot of show tunes too, but rarely do I have a whole soundtrack. I have a couple of songs from Jesus Christ Superstar, a couple of songs from Phantom, a couple of songs from Hairspray, etc.
Keep 'em coming people....for some reason I've downloaded about 20 songs since I found this thread last night. I see things and think "How can I not have any Donnie Iris?" (saw him in concert with Triumph, Loverboy and Foreigner--sheesh!)

Salt in My Tears - Martin Briley

Rumours in the Air - Night Ranger

OMG!! Totally forgot about that song!! Wow...bringing back some high school era memories.

"C is for Cookie" by Cookie Monster
The Manamahnah Song- of course :)

Got these along with the entire Sesame Street Platinum Collection! ;)

My favorite is a 27 minute track of Epcot's Future World Main Entrance medley circa 1987.

My favorite Billy Joel song has always been Vienna and I was shocked when it turned up on the 13 Going on 30 Soundtrack.

Others I have that I would doubt anyone else has:

Our Little Town by Brian McComas
Yes, No, Maybe by Kenny Rogers Jr.

Toy Matinee's one and only album: Toy Matinee
.
Just about everything Johnny Lang has done

Do you know that Johnny Lang is playing at the "Eat to the Beat" concerts during Food & Wine Festival? That's a show I'm not going to be missing!

I have weird songs but maybe nothing that nobody else has..

lets see
*The FUN Song from Spongebob
*The Isrealites by Desmond Dekker and the Aces
*some Irish Rovers stuff (even I wonder why I have some of that I think it is a childhood memory thing)
*Most Of All BJ Thomas
*Saturday Night Bay City Rollers
*Chantilly Lace (Big Bopper)
* Way to much Hokey Elvis Movie music to admit but I assume there are plenty of Elvis freaks who have it all on theirs
* Star Baby -The Guess WHo
* All my Jim Croce CD's so I'd assume some less known
stuff isn't on many
*Lady Godiva (Peter and Gordon)
actually I have lots of weird one hit wonder stuff so I guess I'll stop now

oh I know I can by 100 % sure NOBODY else has the Christmas CD my daughters guitar teacher made of her 3 students ...unless one of the other 2 moms is on here... and I have lots of Local Omaha area bands on mine so those might not be on anyone else on the DIS

Okay, time to play catch-up with the posts:

On mine, some that may be unique:

When You're Falling - Afro Celt Sound System
I mentioned that one myself back on page 3 or 4 - that was one I thought might make it through without a match. We saw that group play live in Montreal in the late 90's - they were amazing!

Here are some of my selections.

Queen- Fat Bottom Girls
Put me down as another person with a lot of Queen songs - I even still have the original cassette of the album with this song - the one with the inside foldout of all the naked women on bicycles. Apparently, the original album insert picture was full size - not sure if that was available in the U.S. (the pic - not the album) though.

I do have...

Open Arms - Journey
I have that from the Heavy Metal Soundtrack.

I have the highlighted ones... well, not all of Michael Penn's. Just No Myth. Turn Up the Radio is one of my absolute favorite songs! Saw Donnie Iris in concert years back... I ♥ that song!!!
Try to find some of Penn's other relaeses - he has so much that is just excellent.

I have to admit, you surprised me with having Donnie Iris - and add yourself to the list in terms of me being surprised with others having T'Pau!

Here are a few, not exactly rare, but not mentioned already...Lunatic Fringe - Red Rider
That, and a lot of Tom Cochrane's solo work.

LOVE this thread!

Here are a few, not exactly rare, but not mentioned already...

Salt in My Tears - Martin Briley
Hot Child in the City - Nick Gilder
Perfect Way - Scritti Politti

I've got these three. I just got "Salt in my Tears" within the last year. It took forever for iTunes to get that!

I have "Rumors in the Air" but I do not have it on my iPod.

Toy Matinee's one and only album: Toy Matinee

I remember someone else in the DIS mentioning them. That was you! I have this album on my iPod as well along with a lot of other Kevin Gilbert music. I've got "The Shaming of the True", "Thud", some of his stuff with Giraffe among other things.

I love that track. Peter Gabriel worked well with them. That's always the 1st track on my iPod (I normally just keep it sorted by band name and the Nano is kinda messed up and only works when it's hooked up to the head unit in my car).

I have to admit, you surprised me with having Donnie Iris - and add yourself to the list in terms of me being surprised with others having T'Pau!

I have Heart and Soul, too!

And some Donnie Iris - Love Is Like A Rock :thumbsup2

I have that one! And I thought I was the only one. :lmao:

One time my daughters were in the car with me and that song was playing and we actually saw a dead skunk in the middle of the road!! We were :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wow - this thread is moving right along! Time to catch up.

I have tweeter and the monkey man by the traveling wilburys, When I'm 64 by the Beatles, Rose Garden by Lynn Anderson and Harper Valley PTA by Loretta Lynn. I am betting I am the only one with those on my Ipod. LOL I have an interesting mix on my Ipon. everything from country to rock to r&b to disney!

I have many Beatles cd's on mine - as well as The Rolling Stones, The Who and Led Zepplin. I remember Rose Garden too! Loved that song.

The songs from the movie Grease.

Have the soundtrack - love soundtracks!

Aside from my DS, I doubt many have these songs.

Devil Went Down To Georgia ~ Charlie Daniels
Cat's In The Cradle ~ Harry Chapin
Concrete Angel ~ Martina McBride
We Didn't Start The Fire ~ Billy Joel

I have these.

Some stuff that I don't think many people have is....

Anne lenox - Why
Candlebox - Far Behind
Dave Matthews Band - Crush
Creed - My Own Prison
Soundgarden - Spoonman
Stabbing Westward - Save Yourself
Sarah McLachlan - Possession
Rush - Red Barchetta

Have all these as well. I downloaded ALL of my cd library onto my ipod so I have a lot.

Okay - my turn to see if any others have these:

Adam Ant
Alice Cooper
The Great Song of Indifference - Bob Geldof
Epic - Faith No More
No One Is To Blame - Howard Jones
Uninvited Guest - Marillion
One Night in Bangkok - Murray Head
Heavy Metal (Takin' A Ride) - Don Felder
True - Spandau Ballet
Heart and Soul - T'Pau
These too - Anyone remember the animated movie Heavy Metal?

On mine, some that may be unique:

Cancion Del Mariachi - Antonio Banderas

From the Desperado soundtrack? Yeah - I love those soundtracks!

-Atryu
-Dead Poetic

I have a couple of songs from these two - I know I have Vices from Dead Poetic.

Here are a few, not exactly rare, but not mentioned already...

Here are some more that I have not seen mentioned:

Sabor A Mi - Los Lobos
Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond
Alone - Bee Gees
Overkill - Colin Hay
La Compliante De La Butte - Rufus Wainwright

The entire soundtrack to the following:
Phantom of the Opera
Hair
Les Miserables
Godspell
Chess
Jesus Christ Superstar
Evita

I also have:
Play that Funky Music White Boy
Brick House
Atomic Dog
Get Up on the Down Stroke
Rubberband Man

and other Funk classics.

Anyone have the Opera-funk combo?

DS14 has Play that Funky Music (they played it in band last year) and the Phantom soundtrack.

I want to get the soundtrack to Jesus Christ Superstar but when I looked on iTunes, I couldn't figure out which would be closest to the original album we had back in the 70s. :confused3

I love that track. Peter Gabriel worked well with them. That's always the 1st track on my iPod (I normally just keep it sorted by band name and the Nano is kinda messed up and only works when it's hooked up to the head unit in my car).
I don't know if you got their stuff via online download or ripped from an actual CD - if you have the discs, you'll the the distribution company as "Real World" - this is Peter's private label. It is used primarily for international musicians that Peter has discovered and wants to get their music more widely distributed. A lot of the recording is done at his own home where he has an elaborate recording studio.

If you can't tell by now - I'm a Peter Gabriel fanatic.

Wow - this thread is moving right along! Time to catch up.

These too - Anyone remember the animated movie Heavy Metal?
All too well! I still remember seeing it for the first time as a teenager and thinking - WOW, soft core cartoon porn! Who came up with this idea? It was before I knew a lot about the kind of cartoons that can come out of Japan - even though Heavy Metal wasn't actually an anime film. Even three of the voice actors are well known - John Candy, Eugene Levy and Harold Ramis.
