What songs do you have on your IPod that you think nobody else has?

4. Run Runaway by Slade
I not only have the Slade version, but the remake by Great Big Sea (Canadian Celtic Rock band)

I have a bunch of others that are not so obscure, but I'll still be surprised to hear someone else has:

Clones/Alice Cooper
Six was having problems adjusting to his clone status - best line of that song. Got it too.

Turning Japanese - the Vapors
I was gonna post that one myself as a potential "nobody else has this" - listened to it this morning.

Okay - my turn to see if any others have these:

Nature Trail to Hell (In 3-D) - Wierd Al Yankovic
Goody Two Shoes - Adam Ant
When You're Falling - Afro Celt Soundsystem (With guest vocalist Peter Gabriel)
Crying in the Rain - A-ha
I Love America - Alice Cooper
Dyslexia - Alice Cooper
No Man's Land - Alice Cooper
See What Tomorrow Brings - Arc Angels
Turn Up the Radio - Autograph
Tarzan Boy - Baltimora
Saturday Night - Bay City Rollers
The Great Song of Indifference - Bob Geldof
Earache My Eye - Cheech and Chong
Ah Leah - Donnie Iris
Lend Your Love to Me Tonight - Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Out From the Deep - Enigma
Epic - Faith No More
Rock Me Amadeus - Falco
No One Is To Blame - Howard Jones
Hard Sun - Indio (the original - NOT the Eddie Vedder cover from Into the Wild - although I have that too)
Scatterlings of Africa - Johnny Clegg & Savuka
The Friends of Mr. Cairo - Jon and Vangelis
Uninvited Guest - Marillion
EVERY SONG - Michael Penn (all studio released albums plus a couple of live tracks - most people forget about Sean Penn's musically gifted brother - he's also somewhat overshadowed by his wife - Aimee Mann)
One Night in Bangkok - Murray Head
Armageddon - Prism
Spaceship Superstar - Prism
Human Touch - Rick Springfield
Dirty Water - Rock & Hyde (re-released under the band's original name - The Payola$)
Radio Waves - Roger Waters
My Oh My - Slade
Reach Out - Cheap Trick
Heavy Metal (Takin' A Ride) - Don Felder
Cry Little Sister (Lost Boys Soundtrack) - Gerard McMann
Sax and Violins - Talking Heads
The Adversary - Crime and the City Solution
Fretless - R.E.M.
Days - Elvis Costello
Humans from Earth - T-Bone Burnett
True - Spandau Ballet
Istanbul (Not Constantinople) - They Might Be Giants - OOPS, didn't notice this was already mentioned
Heart and Soul - T'Pau

Okay - that's waaaayyyy too many - but I'm sure that few of them are unique - but I'd be curious to know who has some of these "less well known" tunes out there!

I do! I have "Saturday Night" and a couple of other Bay City Rollers. I also have "Goody Two shoes"-remember that video? Wow! He was hot.
I forgot my teen idol stuff--Partridge family, Bobby Sherman, etc.

ETA ~ We are going to add (if we can find them)
Istanbul (Not Constantinople) ~ They Might Be Giants
various songs from Animaniacs

You can find Istanbul on iTunes! We got it a couple months ago - DS14 loves it!

I'd say 2 things I have that I doubt anyone else does (other than my son) are an album by the Momus Trombone Quartet and an album by a group of London trombonists, that includes 76 Trombones played by 76 trombones. :cool1:

Just an FYI - it's the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Great song though!

I swear I knew that. I don't why I wrote that! I must have been thinking "Gordon Lightfoot" and that is why. I swear I knew it was Edmund...lol.

I kinda thought that might have been the case. Could have been worse - you could have posted:

Edmund Lightfoot - The Wreck of the Gordon Fitzgerald

Or

Fitzgerald Lightfoot - The Wreck fo the Gordon Edmund

Or

Uh, never mind! ;)

Right now, I'm listening to "In The Ghetto" by Elvis. I'm pretty sure that is not a popular tune.

I not only have the Slade version, but the remake by Great Big Sea (Canadian Celtic Rock band)

Cool! :thumbsup2

Saturday Night - Bay City Rollers
No One Is To Blame - Howard Jones
Uninvited Guest - Marillion
Human Touch - Rick Springfield
Heart and Soul - T'Pau

I only have those. I have a friend who loves Great Big Sea. I know very little of them. And WHERE did you find "Tarzan Boy"??? I have been trying to find that!

Okay, out of all that I posted, I really didn't expect anyone else to have T'Pau. That's fantastic! :worship:

In terms of Tarzan Boy - I got the original single (play time 3:50) from Canada's Puretracks music site - they offer it in .mp3 version. I also have an extended version (play time 6:09) - back from the old winMX days.

That's my problem. I don't live in Canada! :rotfl:

It took me a while to find all of "Heart and Soul". The first version I got off some 80's compilation thing. Then I finally found the version with ALL of the first verse. The first version I had cuts off the "The tear in my heart as you walk on by... etc etc" until the chorus. I was so happy when I got the whole song.

Yeah, well that's just a problem for everyone who doesn't! ;) :lmao:

My MP3 player has common stuff - Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Aerosmith, etc

but DW Lauri's MP3 player... sheesh. I only know maybe a third of what she has in there AT MOST! For two people that were born 16 days apart, we certainly didn't grow up listening to the same music.

Here is a sampling I took off her MP3

Big Audio Dynamite:
E=MC2
Rush
The Bottom Line

The Clash:
Car Jamming
Train in Vain
Police and Thieves
I'm so Bored with the USA
London Calling
The Guns of Brixton
This is the Radio Clash
Straight to Hell
Rudie Can't Fail
Clash City Rockers
Know Your Rights
White Man in Hammersmith Palais

Adam and the Ants
Room at the Top
Antmusic
Friend or Foe
Scorpios
Jolly Roger
Stand and Deliver

I have one I don't think any one else has...

Ben- Michael Jackson :rotfl:

DS liked my Jackson 5 CD when he was little. One of his best friends is named Ben, so he thought it was funny......then I told him it's about a rat :lmao: He still likes to sing it at the top of his lungs lol.

I was reading the "ringtone" thread and figured that nobody else would have my ringtones. So that made me wonder... what songs do you have on your IPod that you think aren't very popular?

Some unique songs by popular artists:
1. Midnight in Chelsea by Jon Bon Jovi
2. Out in the Street by Bruce Springsteen (reminds me of Lujack from Guiding Light... *sigh*)
3. Can'tcha Say You Believe In Me by Boston

Some songs that I would think might not be very popular:
1. I Wish I Had a Girl by Henry Lee Summer
2. All I Need by Jack Wagner
3. I've Been Thinking About You by Londonbeat
4. Run Runaway by Slade

All I need by Jack Wagner:lmao: Oh my how I loved Frisco Jones on Genereal Hospital back in the day...thanks for the memory;)

I have a few unusual cover versions on my Ipod -

I Am The Walrus - Jim Carrey
Starman - Seu Jorge
Jolene - Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
Mrs Robinson - The Lemonheads
All The Young Dudes - World Party

The songs from the movie Grease.
My DD16 wants to get these but I only have the album;) remeber those???
I just bought an iPod a couple of months ago, so I was probably the second to last person without one!
My DD's have has them for years...I just got one over the winter so now DH is the only one who needs one in our house so I think it will be on his Christmas list.

:rotfl2: Bay City Rollers:lmao: S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y NIGHT!!!! Another fun flashback...thanks!

Turning Japanese - the Vapors

Pet Cemetary - The Ramones

Have both of those! :thumbsup2

On mine, some that may be unique:

When You're Falling - Afro Celt Sound System
Break This Time - Alejandro Escovedo
Cancion Del Mariachi - Antonio Banderas
Dark Night -The Blasters
10 Miles to Go on a 9 Mile Road - Jim White
Everybody Went Low - John Hiatt
Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400
Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road - Loudon Wainwright III
Heartbreakin Man - My Morning Jacket
The Way That He Sings - My Morning Jacket
Stinging Velvet - Neko Case (with Calexico)
Powaqqatsi, Anthem Pt. 2 - Philip Glass
Vincent Black Lightning 1952 - Richard Thompson
Handshake Drugs - Wilco
Say You Miss Me - Wilco
Spiders (Kidsmoke) - Wilco

Probably more but that's good enough for now. Don't want to go out to the car and get my Nano out of it. :)
