We're planning on taking some time to go resort hopping on this trip. What are some highlights of the deluxe and moderate resorts that we shouldn't miss?

In the late afternoon/evening the GF has a band playing in the Lobby. It's nice to sit and listen for awhile.

AKL has a storyteller by the firepit in the evening. The Lobby is fantastic and don't forget to checkout the Savannahs.

At night, around 9:00 there' an electric light water parade that passes in front of the Polynesian. We went back to see it last year, had a nice drink on the beach and enjoyed the pagent. Not sure if it still goes on, but we'll be looking for it again this spring break.:)

The Lobby of the Polly is very nice . There working on the Fountain now but should be done by your tripp in June

Go to the WL, then use the multi-purpose trail and walk to the FW campground area. There is a petting zoo, stables, and trails through the swamp/forest around the lake. Head back to the WL and make sure you watch their Disney version of Old Faithful. The day we saw it the sun was low in the sky behind us (4pm) and a beautiful rainbow appeared when the geyser erupted.

We went to AKL at 5:30 pm and were there as they were feeding the animals,so we were able to see them with ease .My children loved it.

There're two guided tours of WL every day. One late morning and one afternoon. I think the morning one has to do with the architecture while the afternoon tour is more to do with food and the smokehouse where they cook the barbecue for Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Guest services at your resort should be able to get the times for you.

Oh have fun!!! We LOVE resort hopping!!!

At the Poly, make sure to go down on the beach and swing on the yard swings. Also, visit the Tambu Lounge for one of their wonderful tropical drinks. They come in both alcoholic and non alcoholic varieties.

At the GF, just strolling through that lobby and along the grounds is a thrill! While you are there, why not take in a massage at the spa or have tea in the afternoon. In the evening, they have a combo playing in the main lobby.

If you have kids, make sure to drop by the game room at the Contemporary. It is the largest resort game room on property, and has just about everything a child or child at heart would desire!

From the Contemporary, take the launch to the Wilderness Lodge. The archetecture here is breath taking. Walk outside around the pool and get a drink from the pool bar, and go down to watch the hourly guyser eruption.

The Boardwalk is an attraction in and of itself. There are games, hair wraps places, shops, bars, restaurants, and you can also rent surry bikes to pedal around the lake. Boats are also for rent. While you are there stroll over to the Yacht and Beach Club and watch everyone in Stormalong Bay. No, you can't go in, unless you are a guest there, but the pool is really amazing! Have a sundae or ice cream soda at Beaches and Cream.

At AKL, explore the lobby, and then go outside to see the animals. In the evenings there is an African Storyteller, who tells wonderful stories.

As for the moderates, each has a pool bar, playground, and boat rentals. PO-FQ is closed right now. You won't be able to pool hop, but walking through the grounds is a treat.

This is how we plan where we will stay the next visit. Have a great time:)

Hi,

Dh & I never resort hopped until my M-i-l- stayed with us on a stay at ASMo. We decide when we came back to WDW we would try a different resort. We started to look around. We looked at CBR, POFQ, and CSR.
The very next year ffriends asked us to stay with them at BWV. After that stay we were sold on DVC.

But in response to your question each resort has a unique theme. Pay attention to the detail they painstakingly made sure to include. It does indeed make for a magical journey into yet another WDW area of expertise.

Enjoy,

Our first day at WDW is not a park day. We usually relax a bit after our trip, and go the the CA Grill at the top of the Contemporary. We get a drink (the kids do, too) and go out to their observation deck to watch the fireworks at MK....

Check out the 5 legged goat on the mural by the monorail at the Contemporary. Just a neat little Disney detail.:)
