My DH & I are taking our little princess (2.5yrs old) on her first Disney vacation in November (sooo excited :yay:) Where do your little ones like to stay? This is my first trip with a little one, in the past I have stayed at Caribbean Beach, Coronado, Port Orleans Riverside, Pop and All Star. I was thinking the Art of Animation but we would have to stay in the Little Mermaid rooms, which I've read are far away. What do you suggest?

Thanks!

We took our princess of a niece multiple times between age 2 and 4. As long as the resort had a pool and playground she had a blast. So much so it was always hard to get her to go to the parks. I'd pick where you want to stay.

If you'll be pushing a stroller, my vote is port orleans french quarter because everything is SO COMPACT

Convenience is key. Our DD likes any hotel as long as there is a pool. POFQ or a deal at Dolphin or Swan due to the proximity to two parks. They have a sweey kiddie pool with shaded seating and a great new playground!

Both of our girls enjoyed the royal rooms at POR. They especially liked the "fireworks" on the headboard. They also enjoyed the pool there and the pool at POFQ. It helps that POR is also one of my favorite resorts. I agree with a PP though that at that age they really just like pools and playgrounds! On our first trip I thought we would never get out of the Boneyard playground at AK but they loved it.

We stayed at AoA in the mermaid rooms when my little girl was 2.5. The rooms are adorable and the walk isn’t too bad. When she was 6 we stayed in one of the royal princess rooms at Port Orleans riverside and she absolutely loved the room, it was very magical to her

A 2 year old will be happy staying wherever her parents are happy staying. I say this as a mom who has taken her DS to WDW multiple times a year since he was one and he has enjoyed every single resort we ever stayed in. I would pick the resort you and your spouse will enjoy the most (and will be most convenient for you as you travel with a 2 year old).

At that age, my daughter ONLY wanted to stay at Pop because she loved the Lady icon in the 50s section. She was too young to care about pool slides or sit-down restaurants and would have been happy anywhere with a pool, but her stated preference was always to go visit the "big puppy".

Pick the resort that looks best to you, and she'll find something to love. I personally liked Pop and POFQ with little ones because they're both compact enough to be okay with a child that wants to leave the stroller behind as much as possible. The Poly would also be nice, if money isn't an object, because the monorail is easier than buses with a stroller but you have to decide whether you're willing to spend for that convenience with the more limited hours and relatively frequent breakdowns of recent years.

We've stayed at every resort level and my choice would still be Pop with a very young child; now that even my youngest wants a pool with a slide and a hot tub we mostly stay at moderates, but Pop was just perfect when DD was 2-5 or so.

Our daughter turned 2 in November. She's been to Disney a few times. We've stayed primarily at the grand Floridian. This coming trip we will be at akl.

I agree with pp....she'll like any resort with a pool and kid friendly activities. A priority for us is space as our daughter won't sleep if anyone else is around. Other than that though I think most kids would enjoy any of the Disney resorts.

We've taken DGD multiple times since she was 3 (she's be 10 in March)
She's stayed in just about every resort on property at least 1 night.
She don't often give a comment on where we stay but some she's mentioned by name as favorites
AoA Mermaid room
POR Royal room
AKL Savannah view rooms

We are taking her back for her 10th birthday, it's a surprise. I've tried to quiz her about where she'd pick to stay on a birthday, without giving her any clues that we are going back. She told me she's been wanting to return to AoA again. Turns out we really need a suite this trip so that's what I've picked.

At that age any resort will be fine. I would think about maybe choosing one that has a kiddie splash area - The Poly and GF have one, I know there's more but can't recall which ones. AKL has the wow factor of the animals that she may get a kick out of.

I know CBR is under construction right now but we did CBR when DD was 3 and 5 and the splash pad was a HUGE hit.

I'll put in my vote for Wilderness Lodge. It is where we took our granddaughter when she was 3 years old. They have a great children's splash pad and the slide at the main pool is perfect for young kids. The new villas pool is zero entry. The lobby has a cute, little bridge over the spring and little kids love running over the bridge. Everything is under one roof, which makes it convenient. And the resort is compact, so nothing is too far away. The boat to Magic Kingdom is one of the best perks of staying at the WL. Kids love the boat ride. :)

My daughter has stayed at the Poly, BWV, AKL, and Coronado. She liked them all. She was not crazy about the Disney Springs Hilton. Even she could tell we had stepped outside the bubble!
