I did a DNA test a few years ago so it was fun findng out
I am mostly Irish/Scottish/English - that came out to 56%.
Eastern Europe and the Baltics - 29% which is about right as my Grandmother was 100% from that area
Germanic - 11%
and Swedish/Norwegian - 4%. I have no clue where that fits in except maybe with the Scot. All my grandkids care is that we can say we are part Viking.
My Maternal grandfather was 100% German, his mother was born in Germany and his father was 1st generation born here to German immigrants, so the Germanic Europe was a little surprising it wasn't higher.
My Maternal Grandmother was English, Irish and German, we never knew that til recently.
My Paternal Grandfather was Irish but we always knew there was some Scot in him.
My Paternal Grandmother identified as Polish.
I am 3rd or 4th generation born and raised in the US. Just your average American mutt. It was fun finding out the numbers as I always knew where my ancestors were from just surprising to see the numbers. What was funny with the DNA tests is my mom is mostly English while her sister is mostly Germanic. Genetics are a curious thing.
