Living in Scotland, it was soccer ( or football as we call it) I played competitively from when I was 16, winning dozens of trophies with my various team's over the years, until I finally gave it up at 40.

Try as I may, I am not a sporty person. I've tried tennis and volleyball as well as all the standard sports you play in PE. I don't have an athletic bone in my body. Unfortunately, that gene seems to have passed my kid as well...

I was a band geek, never interested in any sports. Our son played little league baseball, and football in high school. Our daughter was a cheerleader in high school. Grandsons played football, a granddaughter played volleyball.
