What is your opinion on the United Kingdom?

I'm an Anglophile, 1000%! I would move there if it were feasible - I have visited and felt more at home there than here. I often come out with phrases/expressions and mannerisms that are natural to me, but others deem them very "British." The people are lovely and I love the culture!

Great history and great culture in classic literature.

Standard of living ( what you get compared to what you pay ) is low compared to rest of centrslEurope. One pays a lot to sleep or live in a dump. Cost of living very expensive.

great place to visit but of the many countries I have visited I would not actively choose to live there ( too expensive for my standards) If would be transferred they would have to pay me a hella lot more to maintain my standard of living.

It’s also more diverse than many like to admit.

I think that the UK is great. I love the history and beauty and everyone I have ever met from there has been super nice. That would be my second choice after the Netherlands of places I'd like to move to.

It seems about on par with the US when it comes to racism/xenophobia/etc.

I went to London in '07 for a long weekend during my semester abroad in college. I lost my passport on a pub crawl the first night so that was a memorable time (the hostel's cleaning crew found it on the sidewalk outside the next day, so I did get it back thank God). The exchange rate was awful at the time, so everything seemed incredibly expensive.

As someone from the UK, it's a very interesting place to visit as you only have to drive 10 miles down the road and it's all new dialects. Plus it's four countries with very different ways of living as well as history. Just like America you can't take one state and match it with them all. Hope you are all well and having a good day :)

Have lived and worked in London and Edinburgh. My sister lives in England and my friends are English.

I loved living in London, I loved being 20 minutes by tube from Oxford Street. I had some amazing fun times in London and I miss those times and my friends.

aha, you fell for tourist trap places of paying for toilets, lol. I lived in London and there were plenty of decent, free toilets but it takes a bit of planning. Also if I did have to pay for a toilet, I would never pay more than 50p
My daughter lived in Leeds for a year and she said it was a pound everywhere there.
