WL is it for me. I love the feeling of being miles away from everything but only a short boat ride to MK.

I love that I feel like I am in the Pacific Northwest at the WL...If you sit in the hot tub in Feb and if it is cold enough, you can almost imagine that you are in the middle of the forest in th mountains!!!

Wilderness Lodge........

We love it's close proximity to MK, and appreciate options in transport ie: boat, bus, monorail. The themeing is spectacular!! The CM's are top notch. We love that it is all in one building, the pools are great, the restaurants are great. It's very relaxing there and all cares just seem to melt away when you walk in and see the spectacular lobby, with the best music and most relaxing atmosphere. It also if VERY family friendly and our DS loved it as much as we did.

And as a final note the "keepers" of the FAQ thread are simply some of the best people on the Dis...IMHO!!

Although, we have only stayed at Wilderness Lodge, we have spent time at all the other deluxe resorts. We always hop around to enjoy the restaurants and lounges and to see if we would like to stay at another resort. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is beautiful and would run a close second but the closeness to Magic Kingdom and the fun pool, brings Wilderness Lodge in first place for us!

...uhhhh, did I mention that the WILDERNESS LODGE is my FAVORITE??@!??!?!;)

Wilderness Lodge,

I loved it so much I bought my DVC membership there...Pacific Northwest...just makes me want to be there now.

I have never stayed at a WDW resort (we've stayed near DTD--Wyndham Palace and near MK--Shades of Green), and I had always wanted to stay at the WL. I didn't know that it was considered a DELUXE. Aren't WL rooms the smallest of all the resorts in the poll? Can 4 people stay in a room comfortably, you know, with one bathroom?
I didn't know that the SWAN and DOLPHIN were considered DELUXE, either! No votes for SWAN but 6 votes for DOLPHIN (the decor and layout on the first floors of both are unappealing to me, but the DOLPHIN'S , IMHO, is just plain ugly!) I haven't stayed at either of them. Why this result?

Just want to know for future trips!

We're a Poly family all the way -- we've tried others and spent the time wishing we were there. But I really think it's a matter of personality and if you ask yourself a few questions you'll know where to stay.

Do I want to be closer to the MK or Epcot -- or does that matter at all to me? We've stayed at Epcot resorts and it is very nice to be able to walk there for dinner, but we are such big giant Disney nerds that we love being near the MK. Although since you can walk to the TTC from the Poly, the Poly is good for both MK and Epcot.

Am I renting a car? I personally would never stay at AK Lodge without one -- taking all those buses would kill me.

How much Disney Magic do I really want? Some people want the theme turned up full blast (like us) and some just want a really nice hotel. I would say that the GF and the Yacht and Beach Clubs are a little more polished than the Poly, but not quite as over the top Disney themed. When we go we are
:o very nerdy about the whole thing.

How much do I really want to spend? My experience (and this is just mine) is that we've found better rates at the Poly, WL, and Boardwalk, the Contemporary, and the Dolphin. They are still expensive, but just not as much as the others.

That said, we are just happiest at the Poly -- who knows why?

We've also tried WL, GF and CR. And, we were disappointed each time that we weren't at the Beach Club, or Yacht Club. I think what attracts us the most are these four things: 1) Stormalong Bay 2) convenience of walking to Epcot & MGM (or boating) 3) the boardwalk area right outside your door 4) the CM's at YC/BC are, in our experience, the best!!!!!!!
