What is the Origin of Your DIS Screen Name?

I am one of those people that don't like kettle corn! I know, crazy, right? :sad2: I just don't like my popcorn to taste sweet. It's just supposed to be salty! My mom thinks I'm nuts because she LOVES it.

Anyway, originally I wanted my screen name to be something Beauty and the Beast because it is my favorite animated movie and I just ADORE Belle. However, when I was lurking on the boards I saw that a lot of people had Beauty and the Beast themed nicknames so I decided to go completely opposite and do something science-related since I'm a chemist.

When I was in college, I used to watch a show on the cartoon network called Dexter's Lab. He was a kid scientist that built a huge laboratory in his house (his parents were totally clueless). He had a sister named DeeDee who would always manage to screw up whatever he had going on. She was cute and perky and funny and I always loved Dexter's response to anything she did: "DeeDee you are stuuuuuupid." Such a juvenile response and yet so true. I wish I could say that to people sometimes.

So in honor of stupid DeeDee: Dexter's Lab + DeeDee = DexLabDeeDee. That's her picture to the left.

I remember Dexter's Lab...LOL I remember him saying "DeeDee you are stuuuuupid: LOL /

It's one I use for most of my user names....zoe is my daughter, she's the youngest in our family and she made our family a family of 5, thus...zoemakes5. Though, many people have thought I have 5 kids.

and how is Miss Zoe? Jade says hi. :) i found some CUTE picks of them together the other day. Good memories. :)

I've been a member of the boards for awhile, but have just started to post (I know, what have I been waiting for? :confused3 Beats me!)

Anyway, my name comes from the fact that I'm a huge Hanson fan (yes, like the 90's long-haired MMMBop boys :goodvibes). YES, they're still together. YES, they're still making (better than ever) music. Ask me if you'd like to know anything more about 'em, because Lord knows I probably have the answer!

Anyway, "Where's The Love?" is one of their earlier songs, and even though its a simple, fun, juvenile-sounding song, I like the message. Plus, I'm sort of a hippie, so I'm an advocate of spreading the love :hippie:.

In the case of these boards, Disney love! :woohoo:

Did you know that there's a LINE DANCE to MMMBop? I do, and I know it. :rotfl: have a couple of their CD's and yes, still listen to them. :)

My sister uses "Where's The Love?" as her sarcastic catch phrase when commenting about minor wrong events like seeing a family melt down at WDW or something.

:rotfl: we say "someone needs a royal nappy nap" LOL Sometimes it's in reference to ourselves! :lmao:

I have always been a die hard DL fan. When I married for a second time I decided it was my duty to indoctrinate my dh to the likes of DL. Well dh is a engineer and well engineers are you know are practical, methodical people who really don't think of frivolous flowery (his words not mine lol) things like DL. Well I finally convinced him to go and well I literally had to drag him to the airport to fly to DL. Hence my username drag n' fly lol.:lmao:

OMG I LOVE that!!! I always thought it meant you like dragonflys.....LOL

My DIS name comes from my all-time favorite Disney character...Bert from Mary Poppins. Not only is that the best Disney film ever (imo), but I also admire and can relate to Bert's outlook on life.

My cousin has been calling my heidispidi since I was little. My name is Heidi, and I has long, skinny spider-legs back then LOL.

I think I need a siggy. Will work on that tonight :)

I lurked on the DIS for about a year - just because I could not come up with a name.

One of my best childhood memories is eating at BlueBayou in the 70s with my mom and dad. Goofy admission here - I went up to the rail would wave to all the passing boats.

So I decided it would be a decent screen name. I was surprised it was still available when I registered.

When DD20 was DD2, she was yapping on and on about Dobie. I finally asked her who Dobie was. She answered "You know, Mommy, Dobie the Dorf. Snow White and the Seven Dorfs."

I use specialks often for my screen/username. It is because when my husband and I were dating he called me his specialk (my name is Kim). He even bought me a specialK cereal shirt. Then once I married him my last name started with an S so specialks. And the final link is because I am from Kansas [KS] (I live in Washington State now).

This thread is great fun! Always wanted to know how some people had picked their screen names.

There are four people in my family. Everyones first names as well as our last name start with the letter M. So FourM's.

Gosh, first time to this thread and I am still reeling that an engineer of all people would accuse me of not being creative!!!! Could I sink any lower !!!!
A decade ago on the DIS......I guess we were less creative!
Judy from Port Hueneme (where i was born) is too long to type.
I think I briefly considered Judynator (after the Terminator) which some smart aleck in the ER where I worked named me :)
Actually I think using close to a "real" name shows great strength of character, ego integrity, and a strong sense of self outside of any family roles. That is my story and i am sticking to it........

I added the letter "n" to Kiwiana to get Kiwianna.
New Zealanders are often called Kiwis and Kiwiana is a term for items that we often associate with being a Kiwi.
Of course there is much debate over what belongs on the list, but a child's pull-along toy, the buzzy bee is usually near the top.
Other items that have almost iconic status here are
- Hokey Pokey icecream - vanilla icecream containing little bits of a butterscotch toffee.
- Chocolate fish - fish shaped marshmallow covered in chocolate
- The Edmonds Cook Book, a recipe book that has been reprinted countless times.
- No. 8 fencing wire, used to fix any broken object that needs to be held together until more permanent repairs can be made.
-I won't mention the pavlova lest it upsets some of our good neighbours from across the ditch who also regard it as their own.

Very interesting! My name is simply my name in Italian. My family is Sicilian and Nunzia was the nickname my father used for me.

Right after my current boyfriend and I met, he went off on a trip that had been pre-planned before we met. As it turned out I had tried to go see my mom just a few blocks from where they were going, so I booked a flight and jumped on a plane to meet him and his sister down there.

We spent a week together downthere, which is where we got to know each other and turned out to be the most magical trip I have ever taken with anyone- a DisneyFairyTale.

This picture was taken the last day of that very trip, almost a year to the date

Hey, hey, hey! Have you have ever heard of an I-M-A-G-I-N-E-E-R? :goodvibes

Super fun idea for a thread! Mine is my favorite princess with my lucky number tacked on the end. :goodvibes I spelled it wonky because...well I don't actually know why!
