An extra pair of contacts! I had one pop on me a few years ago and I couldn't find it, so I had to finish the day out at the Magic Kingdom only seeing out of one eye Boo! Now I always pack a set.

That's a GREAT idea! Nothing can ruin your day then a bad/lost lens! I think I'll toss a pair in my pocketbook for an everyday back up! Thanks for the great idea

I hate carrying anything into the parks in September because it is really hot and I get so overheated with a backpack. I even stopped taking a waist pack because of the heat. Now I have gotten it down to 1 poncho in my back pocket, cell phone, camera (in left front pocket), a metal wallet for my room key, fast passes and money, handkerchief, tums and lip balm. Nothing else. I'm covered if it rains or is sunny and with no backpack or belly pack I don't have to go through the pack lines on park entrance!! My wife on the other hand takes a backpack and stufs it with all kind of things! My daughter has a big one that is filled!! I guess it's a gril versus a guy thing!

I'm finding this thread very interesting... So far I've picked up that I will take ZipLoc bags next time and maybe some of that Moleskin stuff.
Particularly the ziploc stuff after last time - got SO wet over in Islands that I'd have welcomed even dry undercrackers!!

Anyway - My biggest tip is that I get thirsty easy. And so in Hollywood studios they had just opened the American Idol experience and were selling tin bottles of coke. I was annoyed at first *** they were much smaller than most other bottles or the same price... anyway - I'm just reminiscing now! So these little tin bottles were used the rest of the holiday to fill up at water fountains and they sat handily in our little bags. It meant we could carry free water around and it kept reasonably cold. Winner.

What to pack for the parks?
Things to pack in a carry-on bag to use on the Parks….
• Park Admission Tickets
• Confirmation numbers {Take pictures from numbers and documents}
• Itinerary / Maps
• Pen
• Room key/cards {if you're staying at a Disney resort, keep it with you at all times. You'll need it to re-enter the resort, unlock your door, use Disney's transportation, enter the parks, or charge something to your room}
• ID {you'll need it to buy an alcoholic drink}
• Cash {$1 bills for tipping, ”new Pennies for pressed machines}
• Credit/ ATM Card {if you take more than one, leave one behind in your hotel room safe. Also keep a note of the number to call if your card is lost}
• “Waterproof” Camera w/extra memory cards & batteries
• Tripod
• Camcorder w/extra memory cards & batteries
• Cell phone
• Fan / water mister {essential for when you're in line or waiting for a show}

• Basic Medication {Band-Aids, Advil , Alka-seltzer, Dramamine Motion-Sickness Relief, etc}
• Hand sanitizer /Anti-Bacterial Gel
• Wet wipes
• Foot Pain, Rub, Blisters Relief Stuff {Moleskin, Band-Aids, Blister Block Stick, Pain cream, etc}
• Small Flashlight {for reading maps or guide books in dark waits}

When I visited as a kid (1976) we somehow got by with just my mother's purse in which was a travel sized pack of tissues and some bayer asprin. My how things have changed.

We put our tickets, money, tissues, chapstick, etc in plastic bags - then we put the bags in our packs. If our packs get wet, we still have dry belongings. It keeps things organized, too.

We don't usually carry bags around the parks -- we keep one with everything from tylenol to sweaters in a locker, but still not as much as many people are taking.

Chapstick and gum are great though even if you're going bagless -- I sometimes forget them but I'm so happy when I do remember them. If I'm carrying a small backpack, like I do when we just do evening emh and I want to carry a sweater, I pack tissues too.

I took Clorox wipes and sanitizer and was SO happy I did. I was shocked to see the employees quickly wipe the tables with a wet cloth at all the quick services places we went to. They NEVER disinfected anything, so I did. I wiped everything down before we ate.

As a fast food worker our "wet cloths" our soaked not with water but with sanitizing solution. I am almost 100% positive that WDW does the same just thought i would clarify

I used to manage a Burger King years ago, and our water always had sanitizer solution in it. I bet Disney wouldn't let a detail like that go. good point!

My shorts have 4 pockets...

Back button pockets carry - cash, credit cards, and a few sticks of gum
Front Pockets carry - iphone, chapstick, hand sanitizer
Wrist carries - hair ties

DH wears cargo shorts but the ony additional thing he carries is advil, and a camera

My one item I wish I had during Food & Wine was Immodium.... I had everything else: Advil, chapstick, plastic baggy, other necessary RX's, camera, cell, lanyard w/holder for id, room key, gift cards, credit cards, bandaids....

Ziploc bags. Gallon and quart size. If you are on the dining plan, these are great for keeping desserts to take back to your room.

Dont they have takeout containers to put the desserts in? I would be afraid of it gettinng all squished in either the bag or in the stroller.

I get the Walmart camping ponchos for about a dollar. They are super small and when done I am usually able to role it up and secure it with a rubber band for later use.

I bring a very small 5x7 bag that goes over one shoulder. I am able to take everything out and cram it into my pockets so I don't have to wait on the security line.

I have squeezed sunscreen in a snack sized zip lock bag.

I also put my cell phone in a small zip lock too, to keep it dry--good at the beach too.

Ear plugs for water parks or for loud noises at parks.
Neck strap for sunglasses for going in out of buildings, and so they won't go flying off on a roller coaster!

I brought my purse on my first trip and I vowed to never bring it again! It was such a hassle. I now bring a backpack which is easier (for me) to carry and is comfy if you buy one with great support for your shoulders & back. It's not heavy at all either!

I try not to buy anything in the parks (besides our meals) if I can help it because almost everything is so expensive.
