I am considering a solo trip in May and was wondering.......what is the cheapest you've managed for a solo WDW trip? Coming from Philadelphia....flexible dates - but main purpose of trip is the Flower Festival :cool1::cheer2:

Thanks

Snag a deal when Disney offers one. It may be free dining or it may be a discount on resort.

Obviously, doing a value resort will be the cheapest. We like POP the best for the value resorts.

If you don't get free dining then counter service will be cheaper than a table service meal. I wouldn't do the dining plan; unless, you really like desserts or like eating a lot.

You can bring breakfast bars, nuts, and other items in your suitcase to eat. Keep in mind breakfast and lunches are usually cheaper than dinner meals.

Stay away from shopping and you will save money that way.

Don't do extras like Disney tours or whatever costs extra monies.

Free Dining is highly unlikely to be that best deal for a single. DH and I used to have some pretty cheap visits, often staying at POP. Now that I go solo unless someone 'volunteers' to go with me, I look for room only discounts.

If you don't mind going through a third party, cheap tickets dot com has some great rates right now up til mid June. If you use code lucky25 on there you can get 25% off disneys spring sale rates. You can still link it in the disney website.

Thanks for all the replies! I am booked for POP Century, May9 - May 16th :)

Going solo as a Mothers Day gift to myself! Not a big eater, so no DP. Definitely bringing breakfast stuffs to save $$ but souvenirs - that's where my downfall will be. So I started a Disney Vacation Account to save til then. :)

Thanks again

Congratulations!!! :goodvibes I bring breakfast stuffs to eat in the room most mornings too, it saves a ton! And once I return from my trip next month, I'll be using the DVA to save up for my December 2015 trip. I think it seems like a neat program! :thumbsup2

I usually save money by purchasing grocieries and having them delivered to my room. That way I have some basic essentials around my room, such as drinks, bagels, chips, ceral, milk, etc.

I got discounts on my hotel rooms for being a solo traveler. Hoping it means I'm close to the main building too but probably not....

You said you got a discount for being a solo traveller... how? Was this with Disney? I have only ever seen single room rates in Europe, not in US and definitely not a mention on the WDW resorts...???
