What is the best food processor

I have been wanting a food processor for a while. But I don't know what to look for. Do you have any advice on the size I need? Does the power matter? Is there a brand you reccomend over others.

I want it to help me make pie crust, shred cheese, make dips (basically I want to be able to use it like my favorite Food Network Stars).

I know this is a budget board, my goal is to get the best food processor out there for a moderate amount of money, so I only have to buy one.

Thank you!

I got it at Costco. It came with two bowls (larger sized than normal) and all attachments for $149. I use it nearly daily, and have for 4 years. It still works like brand new. I'd totally recommend getting a high quality machine. The lesser priced ones do not work nearly as well, nor last as long. I even make peanut butter in mine, and no problem at all. (Plain roasted peanuts in the bowl, and let it go for about 5 minutes...the best peanut butter you'll ever eat, cheaper than even most store brands, and no additives at all).

That sounds great - may I ask what model

Several years ago I checked Consumer Reports before buying a processor. I would have guessed Cuisinart to be top rated. However, I was surprised to find a Kitchen Aid as the top rated machine at that time. I bought the Kitchen Aid and have been very happy. It is a Professional 670. It has tons of power and great attachments.

Wow thanks.
Does anyone know anything about the Foodnetwork food processors you can get at Kohls
