What is happening 10/9 at EPCOT

I noticed on the park hours that EPCOT closes at 3pm on October 9th. Any ideas why?

My guess is it is closing early for the official Grand Opening of Mission: Space. They are probably having a press event/gala

Seems like a long time to wait for the "official" openning.

Any reason for that date. The only thing I thought of was

10/9 as in 10 ... 9 ... 8 ... 7 ...6 ...5...4...3...2...1
