We usually come in the back way to FtW to bypass the MK gate and did so during our Christmas stay a couple of weeks ago. This is past Downtown Disney and Port Orleans, etc. At the intersection where we turned left to go toward FtW, we noted something new since our last visit in February: A construction fence and an obvious lack of trees behind it. We could also see big earth movers that had cleared a large area. Are they expanding the golf course? Building a new resort?

I believe the resort going in is Four Seasons. They've been clearing at least since last spring.

We were there inn september and a CM told us it was for a hotel that was being built by four seasons

Yup. Four Seasons. I recall seeing a press release and artwork some months ago.

If you were on Bonnet Creek, you may have seen the site for the new pet resort.

There is a nearly two year old thread on this subject right here on our Camping Board:

Here is the link:

Four Seasons Project

Since this news broke, Disney has spent millions upgrading the Fort, and is about to spend more on a complete pool remodel.

I don't think this new project will have a negative impact on Fort Wilderness.

Yup this sounds right to me. Though I am in no hurry to see it go up, cause' I know I'll never be able to afford to stay there even if they allowed pets.

We were flag family at WL in Dec and the ranger told us four seasons and a few private homes and I said private homes really and he said yeah if you have a few million to throw away.

Ground is definitely broken now... lots of earthmoving going on in Dec.
