I prefer walking to going to the gym.
I prefer walking to going to the gym.
You can exercise all you want, you won’t shed the pounds until you lower your caloric intake.
No pain no gain...stupidest saying ever. You should not have pain during exercise.
If you really want to see results you need to do a combination of intense exercise and eat healthy. A slow saunter around the block or slow rotation on the recumbent bike in the gym with no resistance isn't doing much. It is better than sitting on the couch doing nothing but it isn't going to really increase your fitness.
The best exercise you can do for your abs is the push away. It is done by pushing away from the table before you have gorged yourself.
-Women should lift weights, especially if the goal is to lose weight. If you are cleared by a doc of course.
- keto, hflc, intermittment fasting, drinking cleanse shakes... all not sustainable. Hardly realistic for the average person.
-And of course, diet above all. You can’t out-exercise a bad diet.
I walk 15 minutes miles on the treadmill, really started doing it for about an hour Daily since January, and dropped 20 pounds, without changing anything else.Actually the phrase is often misapplied. You're right you shouldn't have "pain" while doing an exercise. However, when weightlifting it's very common to have muscle soreness the next day. That's where the phrase comes from. I've been lifting an awful long time and still get some muscle soreness the next morning. But no, if you're having pain while doing an exercise that may be a bad sign.
One opinion for me is that cardio is not the way to get muscular/low body fat/trim. Is it good for you to do cardio? Absolutely, unquestionably yes. Generally speaking, any exercise is good for you, including cardio. But doing 60 minutes a day on a treadmill is not going to get you lean.
EDITED TO ADD:
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!!!
Nutrition totally changed my life, man. Totally agree! Lost 110 lbs still going. I love working out, and all the physical hobbies I have now, but nutrition is sooooo important.OK, sorry, I'll stop bombing this thread but I love exercise and nutrition so this is fun for me. Again, absolutely 100% yes on the above. Love it. DW is even more into nutrition/exercise than I am. She is ripped...as in she could get on stage if she wanted ripped. It's from weight lifting and proper nutrition. No "fad" diets, no crazy cardio. She's amazing, and my role model. Oh...and with her strength, I'm deathly afraid of her, so I'm kept well in line.![]()
