What have you seen on the EA? (running thread)

Sorry forgot to post when we got back. 11/13, Thursday night after 11:30 pm. There we NO intermediates on A side. There were several large buicks; a full size truck; 2 intrepids and a concorde (which we took). There were also 3 or 4 full size SUVs (not the little ones they have sometimes) and a minivan. Most of the spaces were empty.

B side, 11/14 around noon. plenty to choose from...several jeep grand cherokees, 2 pt cruisers, a few monte carlos and some non descript mid sizes (sebring type?) . also some small suv types, i think they were the aztecs. sorry i can't remember.

we took the pt cruiser (my choice) ugh....i hated it and wish i had taken the monte carlo like we did last time. oh well, next trip we'll have ds (2) and will need something more 'family' friendly

Arrived Thursday 11/20/03 at 2:30 pm on the A side and was very pleased to be able to acquire a new Pontiac Montana Mini-Van on the EA. Noticed several other full-size (Century's). We were very pleased with the Montana and the ease of renting and returning via the EA as this was our first use. We also used the Carlson Wagonlit code from Mary at Mousesavers.com and had no problem whatsover. A Montana for $114 including taxes for 5 days and use of the EA. Needless to say we were very pleased.

11/20/03 B Side 6:30 PM. About 10 cars total in the EA. No minivans, 1 SUV that someone was loading, about 3 trucks, 2 PT Cruisers and the rest Alero's. My 10 year old son picked a silver PT Cruiser with 10,000 miles. No problems with check-in or out as I was using an older reservation that stated full-size. $188 for 10 days.

I was just speaking to a friend who arrived yesterday. She was at the EA on B side around 12:30-1:00pm. All they had were pickups or SUVs. They chose a Pontiac Aztec, she said it had alot of luggage room.

That would have put me right over the edge!!!! I would be on the intermediate aisle in a heartbeat.

I understand that EA can reward you with many different choices, but can someone clarify what I can expect on the full size lot using Emerald Reserve. Is it only full size cars or are there suvs or vans in that aisle.

Emerald Reserve different aisles for different sized cars. IE: you reserve a full size with ER and that is the aisle you will go to. Only full size will be on that aisle.

We won't get in until almost 8 PM on Friday night...how bad will it be? I am hoping that since weekends are a local thing that the rentals won't be down that slim. Am I crazy?

Arrived yesterday, Sat Dec 6, on B side about 12:30PM. The aisle was loaded! Lots of full sizes (Monte Carlo, Grand Prix, Impala, Intrepid, Classic, Century, Regal). Also some SUV's, PT Cruisers and a P/U. Didn't notice any vans. I chose a gold Monte Carlo with about 2200 miles.

Do you think part of the reason for having a great selection was the "snowstorm" in the NE kept flights from arriving from NY,NJ,Mass, etc?

Debbie, Have a great trip!!

We arrived 10:00AM on Nov 28, terminal A. We had a full-size reservation so I just peeked at the Emerald Aisle. Didn't see any minivans or SUVs, all looked like sedans. The full-size aisle was mostly classics, regals, and centuries, with a couple Impalas and one Intrepid, which we grabbed for its huge trunk. I guess most of the good stuff had been taken by Thanksgiving weekend customers.

We arrived at about 6:30pm Saturday Dec 6. The aisle was stocked, no empty spaces. They were bringing in new cars as soon as people left. There were 6-7 PT cruisers (we got one with only 11 miles on it!), a mustang, a few pick-ups, one or two minivans, an aztec, a bunch of the usual intrepids, etc. I'm sure there were so many because of the weather delays (we were delayed some coming from Washington DC).

Forgot to respond after our Nov trip... arrived at 11 pm , they had no intermediate cars on the Emerald Aisle so the attendant told us to select any Minivan we wanted. Got a really nice Grand Caravan with super low mileage. Been very lucky every trip and this was no exception. Caroline

Was at the World 11/30 (Sunday after Thanksgiving, about noon)-12/10. Had an OLD reservation from like Feb, EA, fullsized. Was able to get a very nice Chevy Impala. Mostly intermediates when I was there.

We picked up our car on Friday December 5th, about 9:45 pm. We had a full size reserved, Emerald Reserve. When we got there the Emerald Aisle was jammed full of cars, so they told me to take whatever I wanted. There were a ton of PT cruisers, Impalas (which we took) and Monte Carlo's that I can remember. The Impala we chose was loaded, leather interior, CD player, moonroof, and brand new, it had 7 miles on it.

Just back. Had reserved Emerald Aisle intermediate size for 12/13 - 12/17. $109 using Carlson Wagonlite code from Mousesavers.com. Was a bit concerned we would find something big enough to fit 4 adults, 2 large suitcases, 3 large carry-ons, a laptop & a camera bag. Short trip --- asked parents to pack light....but they didn't.

Arrived at aisle around 4pm. It was completely full. Saw lots of intermediate & fullsize cars; asked an employee standing there if there were any SUV's. He said no. We started down aisle. Got about 4 cars down, when DH decides a Monte Carlo will hold all of us. Employee sees we are about to grab a 2 door car....and comes to point it out & find us a "nice" car. He picks us a Chev Lumina (full size 4 door) to hold all our junk & my elderly parents. ;)

He loads everything in the trunk for us. All luggage fit on just 1 layer in the HUGE trunk. Everyone in & we were on our way in no time flat as usual. (Mom was confused why we didn't need to go wait in line at the rental counter. LOL)

Nice car: 4 dr Chev Impala; leather seats; moonroof; CD player. Very comfortable. Had 246 miles on it. We put 407 more miles on it ourself -- driving from MCO to Titusville to New Smyrna Beach to St Augustine....and finally to WDW our last day. Everyone said it was comfortable & rode well.

Dad was impressed with my $109 deal. LOL :teeth:

They've decided they will travel with us again....because I'm so SMART! LOL (They don't know I have 55,000 smart friends from the DIS!) :teeth:

I noticed when we were there 2 weeks ago that they now have an employee who stands near the booth in the garage and helps direct people. He was there when we arrived to pick our car and he was also there when we returned the car and we were walking out.

Glad you got a great car!:D
