What happens when?

We plan to head to Epcot after our flights arrive in the morning. I was planning on purchasing the tickets now so that I can book FPs when our 60 days comes up. I was just thinking,...since you have to choose the date you are going to the park, what happens if our travel is delayed and we don't end up going at all?
We do have tickets to MNSSHP the next day. Could the unused tickets be used that morning?

If both days are the same price level, it should not matter what day you use it. If there is a price difference, and the second day is a higher level, you will have to pay the difference. If it's lower, I think you will just be out the difference as I don't think they would refund it.

A little confused about what tickets refers to. If you mean the FPs then they just disappear after the return time ends, there is no carry over to the next day. Use them within the time limits or they are gone.

If you mean actual ticket media, they don't start until you first go through the turnstile.

Sorry, I mean actual park entrance tickets. We are staying two nights at CSR and have tickets for MNSSHP on the 28th. I plan to buy single day Epcot tickets for the 27th. I plan to buy them now so I can book the FP+s. We fly in morning of the 27th though and it occurred to me that if we get delayed we would miss out on our Epcot day. Since I have to buy tickets for the 27th, I wanted to know if I could in fact use them on the 28th if need be. I understand I may have to pay the difference.

We have not been to WDW since 2012 and nearly every trip has been a 7 seven day package. I have never bought single day tickets. I'm going through the FP+ thread on here but I have to admit my brain is feeling a little scrambled. If it is going to cost us over $400 USD to get in for the day, I just want to make sure I am getting all I can for that price, if you know what I mean?

If I'm understanding the question...The tickets aren't time/date stamped until you use them. There's no such thing as as an admission ticket for the 27th, it for whatever day you use it on. So any unused single-day admission ticket may be used on any day, if there's is an increase in single day admission from one day to the next, then you'd pay the additional up-charge. I think ;)

Yes, I agree, I think. lol I just wanted to verify that a ticket purchased for October 27th (single day ticket) did not have to be used for only that day.

As stated, you are not buying a ticket for "October 27th (single day ticket)". You are buying a single day ticket. Period.
You can use it whenever you want. Booking FP+ in advance after linking a "single day ticket" has no affect on that ticket.
If you have a single day ticket it can be used on the 27th or the 28th. Either, but not both. Even if you have FP+ for the 27th that expire because you never enter the park on the 27th, that single day ticket is good on the 28th. I don't know how to make it clearer, so I hope this helps.

From the Disney site:

The 1-Day Ticket: Epcot or Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is valid for one admission to any one of these 3 parks on a date that is valid for the ticket type (Peak, Regular or Value). This ticket is not valid at Magic Kingdom park.

I "think" you should be able to pay the difference but I have never had to do that....

You can use the ticket on any day. You don't purchase a 1 day ticket for a specific date.

There is 1 exception to that statement with a special discount for annual passholders to buy 1 day tickets for friends but you cannot buy those in advance and I don't think your going with an AP friend so it will not apply to you.

When you buy a one day ticket, online ahead of time, Disney does make you specify the exact date you will be going. This is new since they began tiered ticket pricing.

Just wanted to clarify that.

Wow, news to me. Been a long time since I've bought a single day ticket. Thanks for the info!

I believe they make you choose the day so that they know whether the one day ticket you want is for a value, regular or peak day. But once you've paid for the category, it's good on any day of that category or a category of lesser value. For example, if you purchase a peak ticket, it can be used on any peak day, any regular day, or any value day. If you purchase a regular ticket, it can be used on any regular or value day. I would think that if you wanted to visit on a peak day, you could pay the difference to "upgrade" it, but I don't know this for sure. The one day tickets are broken into one day MK and one day AK, Epcot, HS (not good at MK).

If you missed your scheduled fast passes, they would just disappear, no harm no foul. However, if you know you will not make it to a scheduled fast pass, I would encourage you to go into the app and cancel it, so that someone else in the park looking for a fast pass might be able to schedule that time.

Yes! This is what had me thinking it could only be used that date. I choose one day ticket and then had to scroll through the calendar to choose the day we would be attending.

Thanks for the information. I have purchased the one day ticket for the four of us to Epcot!

I have to admit to being in sticker shock for the price. We are staying two nights at Csr with a room only discount, have four one-day tickets to Epcot and four tickets to MNSSHP and the total is half of the seven day Carribean cruise we are taking after leaving WDW. Cruise includes all our food, entertainment, balcony cabin and four different countries!

I miss the days of free dining! I know it is still offered but never at the times we can go now, where as in the past it so often seemed to be available.

You are not restricted to use it on that day though but yes if you go into another tier season the difference (if more) will need to be paid to use the ticket.
