You should write to Disney - yes it does work and commend both the CM at AK (not ray, but I would mention him, by name and the experience you had...) and Kyle!!! Perhaps it will get them listed in Eye and Ears... or something like that...

We must wait until DS is 5. He's a crazy tyke and would probably be the first kid to jump overboard!

There is somethign about Main Street at the Disneyland Magic Kndgom that is missing at Orlando's Magic Kingdom. I think its a nostalgia that the Imagineers didn't quite capture.

I have to agree with you there, Main Street DL is more quaint, and I think has much more detail that MK is lacking. JMHO.

Also, I really think Goofy's Kitchen if better than Chef Mickey's/

Saying that your trip report was hilarious and extremely entertaining would not be doing it justice. Words cannot describe the hours of enjoyment (the laughter AND the tears) you have provided. I'm mostly a TR surfer/reader and rarely comment, but I felt compelled to thank you and profess my admiration. If you had a fan club, I would join it. If you wrote a book, I would read it.

I am loving your TR and am only on page 15 but I have a couple of questions.

I noticed that it seems your cabin door opened right by the bed. That seems weird because all the other ships I have been on have a sort of entry way between the bathroom and the closets. Am I seeing things or is that the way it was?

Also, I would love to take the gift bags for the crew, what did you put in them?

Ok, I am finished now. I woke up at 4:30 this morning and guess where I went!?!? To keep reading your trip report , of course! ( I hate to tell you that one day you will be 50 and start having sleeping issues but that's a whole other story)

I am one of your fans now that is bordering on idol worship. I think you should start your pretrip report now for your 2008 cruise or wait, what about an imaginary TR for the trip you hope to have before then? Zwiehund is doing that and I think that should be mandatory for all you great writers.

I was so mad for you about the SOG rip off, how can you sell a product you don't deliver? You buy a Cadillac and they are going to give you a Chevrolet because they don't have anymore Cadillacs? I don't think so! While I am thrilled that Kyle made it all worth it for you, will you consider pursuing that up the chain of command on behalf of all the others that have been wronged if that is their policy of no refunds. That is just plain wrong.

And I was surprised by Ray. I can't imagine any one like that working at DW much less in guest service. I have seen people with unrealistic demands get their royal behinds kissed when they should have been kicked and all you were doing was asking about something that a cast member suggested you ask about. I think you should write about him because I KNOW that Disney would not someone like that ruining someone elses magical day.

Is chief retiring or do you have orders back to FL? At least you got Montana, we had been in FL for 12 years when DH got orders to Minot. That wasn't going to happen so he had to retire before he was ready. That was after over the years orders to Utah, Texas, Vegas got cancelled, all places we would have loved to go.

We have learned life is what you make it and I have enjoyed seeing you make yours so much fun! Take care and try to come up with somethng to feed your hungry masses!

now that's what i called a "family vacation". & you held your cool,
during some "trying" situations. good for you and your family. it
really made me happy that someone representing disney, worked
thir magic...for you guys! { being pro-military, it was worrisome,
to hear about some of the negativism...* i hope disney would
encourage better care @ the shade of green "resort". }

thanks for letting us in on how you made your own lil'magic esp.
on the disney..wonder. [ we have done 5 cruises, on both ships,
but because the wonder was our first, it will always be our favorite..
that's one the main reason we "jumped" all over the 11-dayer..cos
it was on the wonder. ]

often, my wife & lil' "claimed" their favorite seat..while i usually
will take any...behind them. i getting pics and movies of their
interactions...& when the characters goes up to her. one of the neatest
thing occurred during the mickey's show, when the miss rona got into
a conversation with "my lil'miss cutie" ...over dresses. when they came
into the threater...i asked, "what that's about..cos it was on the big screen.


ha! 37 cruises...you know?, disney just started in 1998?..37 divided by
9= over 4 cruises per year..now talking about real gluttony! [ ok, i admitt
it..green c envy!]

too!!! ok, folks..we're @ disney..act like it! ..or keep it within the adult
area....psst , here's a secret....i like roaming and taking movies..but i
only "zoom" in on revealing "guests"..just to hear my lil'miss cutie
comments....maybe i shouldn't say this..but my wife is/as always been
very classy in her dress and lady-like behaviors..it's what made her stand
out from the first time we met...

......you seem determined to avoid family group pics? i understand...cos
i am very careful toward subjecting ours, to those with not so disney
attitudes. however, we really are attracted to others having such spirit
and willing to share..very much like the ways you & your family were
doing. we have had many great exchanges bewtween families and cm's.
and then there are the "others"...i call the "intruders"... ~ cos,
my wife swear i am magnet , me > like a porcupine


0n our 05 cruise,we ran into a dynamo type of situation..our servers
slowed us down cos our tablemates...came 40 minutes late, then the
rear of luimere's was the only exit, {the front blocked for pics.}, & formal
nite..so we were went to all the trouble of geting dressed up..., the delays
placed us behind the scooters group & they couldn't get thru the pic. line
~ that blocked the only exit...we finally get to the threater line...* the
only one we wanted...."cindy", and the young "snapper" of a cm, had
shut it down.. ..worst, he wouldn't listened to reason ...
needless to say,
this situation required corrective measures by due processing.

*but the biggest surprise came later, when a mother of another family
approached me....she wanted to thanked me cause they were in a
similar position..and she told me, " you be surprised how many new
cruisers you helped, getting these desired pics..due to similar diffculties
on not getting to the line in time."...so i think including your cm's
tribulations are encouraging that when problems do arise, there are
very capable cm's willing to do correrctive measures.
while her comments made me feel happy.



pssssst, what was neat later, was seeing her in shutters, she had to
call me over to see her pics..that they later arranged. * we know
the character director, cos we met on our first cruise on the wonder...

Bj , to us- represented the prefect disney managment, cos she cares
how much the family/character photos are done right...and she really
does anything she can, for the maw kids.



one of all time favorites was during our 02 cruise,& getting on the elevator-
with a maw family and their lil ' boy covered with princesses 's kisses....
it gave me the opportiunity [parents oked]..to acted jealous over all the
attention he was getting...his smile...made my day! he was so proud!



i saw where you like to joined the 08 repo cruise. that's happened to be
our family next cruise if we don't get bumped . it was wild on
the 31st, and we never got in....lucky for us, our dreams unlimited girl
got us on. we have 2 rooms. since it is a very long time off, if something
comes up, i let you know. good luck! [i know we loved to be
you guys tablemates...if so desired............................ ]
* we're noted for "dirty napkins" & rasing a lil'rukus...actually..3 of them!

Just an update. The USB cable I ordered for my camera did not work.

So still hunting for a compatble cable for my old camera and researching a new digital camera!


Any digital camera recommendations out there??

I had a really difficult time finding a cable for my camera but finally found one here. They shipped it really fast and saved me from buying a new camera in frustration. http://www.dcables.net/ Hope they have what you need.

Hey Lovable,

If your camera is so old that you cannot find a suitable cable for it, then it is my guess that the camera's megapixel (MP) resolution is to small for getting the most out of your pictures with Mickey. If your camera does not have at least 5 MP, then I suggest upgrading instead of throwing more money at a camera that isn't giving you the quality you will want when you are showing your grandchildren those embarrasing shots of their parents.

The good news is that great digital cameras with more MP than you will need are dropping in price rapidly. I found a 5MP camera in Walmart for $79! (Look in the kid's camera section.) Another direction to go is to get a whopping 10.1MP Samsung NV10 at Best Buy for $299. A great deal is the Samsung S730 7.2MP camera at Best buy online for $129. You might even find a better deal out there, but that's what I found on a quick look.

I don't know what you want to spend, but we got a Nikon Coolpix camera (under $200) last year and can recommend it. It's great when I don't want to lug around the bigger camera. Really easy to use and takes great pictures too.
