What happened to all the contests ?

I was just wondering.. maybe I am missing them somewhere. What happened to all the Disney contests polls.. you know the ones previous like "Chip N Dale", Frontierland...

Did they stop ? Just wondering

I dont think so (that they are gone)... I think that Andromedaslove is just busy with life and she has said that she has to download the pics to her pc, then add them to the list for the polls. She will get them up as soon as she can I think... I understand about wondering if you missed them.... I have gone back and looked to make sure.

The pixs do not need to be downloaded to make a poll. All the information for posting them is embedded in the image and the html address is there on a right click command. As far as I know there is no reason to take the extra step of downloading.

I think she downloads them just in the event that someone removes that photo from their hosting site that it won't remove it from the contest.

If a photographer removes his or her picture from their hosting site, that is their choice, and they would forfeit any contest they are in if not reloaded by voting end. There may be a logical answer, but I don't see the need for the added steps. Especially and I apologize in advance, when on multiple occasions it has been stated voting will start on W and it doesn't until X Y or even Z. An explanation of the process would help alot of us understand the backside of the contests.

cant say... as i dont know... i think it has to do with also checking to make sure that a winning photo isnt entered 2 times if it is contested... just have to wait and see what she says to you about it. I understand about the waiting... im in the final round for macro... but its ok...

Ok, first... I want to apologize again for the delay of the contest. I have been doing these for almost a year and a half now, and lately it seems that I just can't keep up. I could lay out a million reasons why, but they all come down to the same thing. I just can't keep up. I can't get the contests posted on time, I can't get the winners posted on time. I just can't do it. Life has gotten so busy that I just can't find the time.

tiggr33 - Don't worry you didn't step on any toes. I don't download or save the photos unless they are the winners of the final polls. The biggest thing with the contests is taking every single entry, seperating them into different polls, and then posting them back onto a new thread. It doesn't seem like it takes long, but it can actually take me an hour or two depending on how many entries there are.


I am going to get these posted today! However, I am going to start a thread asking wether or not someone else wants to take over running the contest. I am lucky if I can get to the computer for more than 15 minutes in a day, and that just isn't enough time to keep doing this.

I just want to say your work is appreciated. And I think we can all understand that lifes demands can take great amounts of time. I for one, if I have yours and others backing, think (and only if you want) should keep the title as contest originator. You have been runing it for quite some time and that is no easy feat. I propose you maintain the status of keeper of the contests, but going forward you do it with help of others. I for one, would be more then willing to help in posting the polls in the weeks you cannot get to it. I know my mother BFL is also willing to help out. You can simply email any of the 'assistants' and say what you need done for a certain week. Does my theory make sense...it did in my head.

Tiggr33 - I think I understand what you were saying, and it does make sense. It may be something that I try out. I want to try one more week and see if it is going to get any easier considering that I am finally caught up on everything (the final polls, winners lists, etc.). Hopefully now that I am not so far behind it will be less intimidating. Thank you so much for your offer of help, and I just might be taking you up on it. I'll definately let you know!!
