What exactly DID you do at Disney? May 2011 TR (TR link pg 44)

When I loaded this day on to Photobucket I accidentally put it in last years folder. Once I moved them to a this years folder they got all out of order. I think I got them organized.. so here are some pictures of WL way too early. There was pretty much no one around besides a few people hanging out in the main lobby. Even at 7 there was no one around. Seriously people, wake up! I figured people would be up and out to go to morning EMH. I guess people really don’t like waking up early on vacation. Next time we are going to have to try the EMH in the morning since I am usually up early anyway.

You have some really great pictures in your update! I thought Reid was young enough when I started him off in December at 33 months old. But, our next one is starting once they've hit the 1 year mark! :rotfl: Ed thought anything before 3 is too young for Disney. But, I've told him of my plans to start the next baby off at 1 year & he hasn't protested. So, either he finally agrees with me about starting the kids off young or he's given up in trying to argue with me over it. Either way, I win! :yay:

I so want to do CRT. I've heard mixed reviews about it, but I just want to eat in the castle at least one time in my life. I've already told Ed that if we don't have a girl next time around, all the boys are just gonna have to suck it up for me & go eat there!

Good for you and going to the gym on vacation :thumbsup2 Did you find the equipment to be in good condition? It's too bad you couldn't get any pictures. I love waking up at the crack of dawn in Disney. Quite possibly the ONLY time I'll wake up 6am without a fuss  It's so peacful to stroll around the resort as the sun is just coming up.

Too bad about Caitlin growing out of the princess stage. They grow up so fast, don't they?

The gym! On vacation! :scared1: Good for you! I had planned to hit the gym but that never happened for various reasons.

It was the only time I was able to make it. I wanted to try the gym out in all 3 resorts, but by Thursday my feet were hurting and I wasn't using them any more than needed. At least I can say I hit the gym once so I felt like I accomplished something:thumbsup2

I have told DH our next trip will be for the little ones 1st birthday. He just sort of sighs but hasn't refused either. I think he has accepted it. While at Disney I pointed out all the little kids having fun, while he seemed to notice all the kids having meltdowns and parents yelling at them:laughing:

CRT is one of those places you just have to try for yourself. Just do it while the boys are young, you won't have much luck getting them there once they are older. Being inside the castle is pretty cool. I liked being in the castle better for dinner, but I'm not sure why. Maybe since the castle looks so formal and dinner is more formal?

The gym was very nice. Everything seemed to be pretty new and in very good condition. I swear I must have stepped off the treadmill, picked up my camera and then people came in. I thought about snapping some pictures anyway but I wouldn't have liked people snapping away while I was on the treadmill.

I loved walking around early and having the whole place to myself. I do wish RF opened a bit early so I could get my coffee. I guess I could have made some in the room, but I didn't want to wake anyone and have them intrude on my morning wandering.

Caitlin has never been super into princesses like some girls are, but she did have a period where she loved Ariel and later Jasmine. It was towards the end of the Jasmine period that we saw her last year, but by now she is totally over them. Unless you could Rapunzel. It is exciting watching her grow up but I am going to miss her being a little girl, it's speeding by way too quickly. It seems like just yesterday she was watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with her stuffed Pluto that she called "Tubo". Now she is usually asking why I like Disney so much:confused3

We really liked the boat at WL. They run on the 1/2 hour from the Lodge, so you can schedule to arrive just before one departs and not have to wait. Maybe you caught it on a day it was running behind.

I would have liked your casual stroll down Main Street too, but at least you got to ride "something" that morning. ;)

I love the image of Caitlin trying to stay syrup-free for the princesses. :lovestruc

Sometimes that growing up thing is really difficult. Here's some pixie dust that you get another little one soon - and that the next one loves all things Disney! :wizard:

I can't believe you went to the gym on vacation! I always want to take a walk in the morning before Brandon gets up and I can't even accomplish that!

CRT looks nice, but the food doesn't look that great. I really want to eat in the castle someday, even if the food isn't good. Maybe when we go on our trip with Caitlin I can drag her there with me.

I really wish it would hurry up and be September 30. All those WL pictures are making me want to be there now!

AH yes, they grow WAY too quick!!! 1 is a good age to take kids. We've been taking Tyler to theme parks since he was about 1, and he goes pretty good. Doesn't complain too much, all that stuff. He's not much into the characters, but that's ok with me. He has his favorites like everyone else. He LOVES innoventions in Epcot. Go figure!!

Love the MK update, I have never eaten in the castle, but after seeing the menus, I'm not sure I wanna. THe food seems too fru-fru for my taste! The boat rides I always thought were peaceful, we stay at FW most of the time and take the boat whenever we can. It's sooo nice, especially first thing in the morning. Just awesome!

The Wilderness Lodge is really pretty, especially at night. :thumbsup2 Looks a lot like it does here, those Imagineers really got it right.

I know you had a good time, but I can't help but feel kind of sad for you. :sad2: Caitlyn is already over the princesses? I know at some point it will get better because you all look happy at Discovery Cove, I just wish that your traveling companions looked a little happier, or at the very least shared your excitement.

You got some really great pictures of the WL. That picture of the path to the boat is especially great. Your inside of the castle pictures are really neat, too.

I don't know why kids can be excited about things at home that they seemed to show little interest in while you were actually there. Max did the same thing. While he didn't act like he was unahappy, he just often looked disinterested. Maybe he was just overwhelmed? :confused3 Though Caitlin had seen everything before, so what do I know? :rotfl:

Too bad she wasn't so into the princesses or her breakfast this time around. Those were some awfully expensive french toast sticks! I think I'd want to ride SM for breakfast. LOL!!!

popcorn::I m late to the party but I am enjoying your TR. I love the discovery cove pic. DH and I did it pre kids and cannot wait to get a chance to take our boys.
I love the Wilderness lodge pics too, we got there too late for dinner to walk around, missed the geyser, just ate and ran back to MK. Thats what you get for letting kids influence the decision and swim longer then I planned.

I think that I was very fair on the other days about going with the flow and doing what the others wanted. Not today. Today was my day. We were staying at MK and we were going to rides some rides, darn it!!

I was so excited to take the boat to MK. You always hear people who stay at WL talk about how they love taking the boat to MK and how convient it is.

I love the walkway out to the dock, especially the section that is covered in trees. It reminds me of a church camp I went to when I was a kid, and every time I walk on it, I go back in time. We do enjoy the boat ride between Wilderness Lodge and Magic Kingdom, but we've never had any issues with having to wait a long time, either. I can see where standing in the heat on the dock for a long time would not be as nice as waiting on benches under the shade at the bus stop.

I hope this Magic Kingdom day was everything you wanted it to be. :wizard:

Congratulations on waking up early and working out! Wow... that is what I call motivation. Good job! :thumbsup2

This year was the first time we saw the rope drop ceremony at MK too. We loved it specially because you do get to do a couple of rides with no waiting as soon as the park opens.

I think kids nowadays are maturing faster than ever. They are used to things and information moving fast in front of them. With the risk of sounding just like my mother, at the age of Beatriz I had not been exposed to half of what she already has. I think that is why they get bored faster. It looks like your daughter is hitting a pre- tween age and her interests are changing fast... I am sure she will always love Disney but maybe now she will be more interested in the roller coasters than in the princesses... ;)

Those pictures at the CRT are great. Caitlyn is super cute in her blue dress. I am sure the picture with Cinderella came out fantastic. And the food looks delicious!

Have a great week!

I liked the boat ride once we got on the boat. I just hated waiting on the docks. I had planned to be at the dock for 8:30 but we ended up getting there early since DH had planned to grab something at RF. If we went with my plan we probably would not have waited long at all. The boat ride is much better than parking at the TTC and having to the the ferry though. I just thought the buses were much faster.

Caitlin is usually a mess when she eats. It was pretty adorable that she didn't want to meet any princesses with a drop of syrup on her. Too cute.

I really hope if we get to have another child they like all things Disney. If not I might just have to find a friendly Universal board to hang out on, b/c I will give up at that point.

If I was to go back to CRT I would go for dinner, especially if it is just that two of you. The menu seems a bit better and the food wasn't too bad.

WL wasn't even my favorite and looking back at the pictures I wish I was there right now.

I really hope we are able to have more kids. It looks a bit terrifying bringing toddlers to the park, but so rewarding at the same time. Plus by the time we go back Caitlin will be old enough to help out and entertain them.

I'm all done with the castle. 2 times is enough for me. I really wish I had stuck with CP for breakfast since I loved it so much last time.

The Wilderness Lodge is really pretty, especially at night. :thumbsup2 Looks a lot like it does here, those Imagineers really got it right.

The Lodge is very pretty at night. We spent one night hanging out at the pool and hot tub, and when you sit in the hot tub you can face the main building. It was a very nice, peaceful view.

Outside of being at WDW Caitlin doesn't have anything to do with princesses. Doesn't watch the movies, play with the toys, nothing. I was very surprised she wanted to go to CRT, but she insisted. She did seem to love having her picture taken with them. While we were waiting for Akershus later in the trip she asked for a princess dress, but since it was almost time to go home I didn't get her one. I can't figure her out sometimes. I don't think she knows what she likes sometimes.:confused3

Caitilin drives me crazy. She has been asking me constantly when are we going back? I told her before this trip we probably wouldn't be back until she was 9, possible 10. Yesterday she asked me why we never went to the Flower show at Epcot (I had told her about the flower and garden festival before we left). I asked her many times in Epcot if she wanted to any F & G things and she said no.

We took her in her stroller last year, so I wonder if the walking around to get everywhere factored in. We were good about taking breaks and I told her I would rent her a stroller if she really needed it. There were a few times I asked if she wanted to do something and she would say no if it wasn't close to us. I tried to minimize the walking by going land to land instead of going across the parks and back, but sometimes you can't help it. Next time I'll have to start her walking more at home. I tried a bit this year but she never wanted to go for walks. I think she felt to old to use a stroller so there wasn't much we could do.

Too bad she wasn't so into the princesses or her breakfast this time around. Those were some awfully expensive french toast sticks! I think I'd want to ride SM for breakfast. LOL!!!

Expensive, not very good french toast sticks.

I am glad we ended up riding SM before breakfast instead of right after. SM is not a ride to go on right after eating:scared:

Thanks for joining!

DH and I went together in 2003 before we had Caitlin. We were really looking foward to her being 6 this year so she could do the dolphin swim. It was an amazing experience, much different than going on your own but awesome! It was a great day and I can't wait to go back again. It is the one place our whole family enjoyed and we spent almost the whole day there.

:laughing:I know all about letting kids decide on what to do and then regretting that you didn't see what you wanted. WL is very pretty and a nice place to get away from MK for a meal.

I loved the walkway to the dock and the trees too. I really didn't like standing on the dock since there was no shade and I think we just got there too early. I don't think I could stand waiting in the summer out in the hot sun and would probably take the buses in the summer. Although I might feel differently if I had to bring a stroller to MK. I haven't experienced Disney transportation using a stroller, but aren't you able to just stroll on the boat with a stroller, where as you would have to fold it up to use the bus?

You know, I think that day in the gym is the last time I used a treadmill. I have been so lazy since we got back, plus I have been working weird hours so it has been hard to get back into.

Caitlin told me yesterday that next time we go to Disney she does not want to ride any rides that go down (Splash mountain for one) Too scary. She is at an age where her interests are changing but I don't think she has figured out what she is interested in yet. She doesn't like any of the older Disney stuff like Hannah Montana or Wizards of Waverly place, but doesn't like the stuff for younger kids either. I am hoping next time we go back she'll be tall enough to do the roller coaster at DHS and maybe some of the ones at Universal. I am sure once she rides one she'll be hooked.

I never thought having a 6 year old would be so difficult:laughing: I thought it would be the teen years I had too worry about.

wow I can't believe how early you got up on vacation - and making it to the gym? awesome!

I can't believe how much Caitlin's interests have changed, and she's only 6! But I guess you could be glad she doesn't really want to go back to CRT, since its so expensive or 2 TS credits.

Wow good for you for getting up to work out! I can barely do that at home! Ha! :lmao:

I must admit I'm not super excited about the food at CRT especially since it will use up 2 TS credits, but I am hoping just the fun of eating in the castle will make it worth it.

I love all of your WL pictures!

I didn't intend to wake up that early, it just kept happening. I think I managed a few sleep ins, maybe 7am?

I couldn't believe the difference between 5 and 6. I wonder how she'll be in 2-3 years when we go back. I am hoping she'll be tall enough for some roller coasters but DH is short and so is his family, so we'll see.

I am very happy we don't have to worry about CRT again. I wouldn't mind going back to Akerhus but I am happy I don't have to worry about character meals again for awhile. I am all character mealed out.

It was fun eating in the castle once. It is very pretty in there and they call "my lady" or something like that. It was much easier using 2ts than paying the bill oop, although I would still pay it if Caitlin had really wanted to do it.

Thanks:)

Our photpass cD just got here. We barely used it since I kept forgetting about or might have used that phrase “We’ll come back later” a few too many times.

Here are the pictures from the days I already covered.
