What else to say to the characters???

Psst . . . don't tell anybody . . . he ALWAYS writes #1 next to his autograph!

Actually...

When I saw Donald a 2nd time (first was in Epcot, second AK), I said something about "seeing him again." His autograph reads "Donald Duck #2" ;)

Lol I just thought of this, when I see Donald next week I'm going to say "hey look it's Daffey Duck! lol I'm going to ask him where Bugs Bunny is.

Spectromagic*o* -those are amazing! I'm so glad to see there are others like me out there!

I did not read this thread all the way through yet, so this may have been mentioned, but on our last trip, we told Buzz to be on his guard...we had just seen Zurg lurking around the corner. He immediately jumped into a defensive stance, and acted like he was going to shoot with those lasers on his arms.

The kids and I went back to my DH, who asked, "What did you say to him?" :)

Not getting to the World to try this until January, but I just thought while watching Toy Story:

Has anyone tried asking Buzz where he likes to 'fall with style' from?

Not really something we said, but...on DD's 6th bd she had her birthday pin on and met Cruella, who yelled to the crowd that it was her birthday and everyone should give her a puppy! It was very cute. DD was kind of shy, and when Cruella told her she'd be coming by for the dogs DD gave her a hug and said, "I think you try very hard to be nice." Cruella actually smiled for a split second. :)

now THAT is absolutely precious!

My DH's goal in disney is to get the characters to laugh and break character. So we went to meet Aladdin and we had our just married buttons on because we had just gotten married at the GF. Aladdin asked us "Did you have camels at the wedding?" and my husband replied "No, but my grandma was there." he started cracking up! it was so funny, he could barely hold it together for the picture. He told Jasmine right away and she started laughing too, it was cute.

there have been several great encounters over the years, but here are some that really stand out to me:

we always stay at the Swan, and sometimes they have characters at Garden Grove. one time at lunch, there was barely anyone in the restaurant with us, so Goofy spent a good ten minutes with me! he made me dance with him (including a bow at the end), which my dad of course caught on tape!:goofy:

one year at CP (i was 16 at the time), we were heading out after we finished breakfast. we always get the latest breakfast seating time possible, so there was barely anyone left. Pooh came over to me and took me by the arm and showed me around the restaurant. he wouldn't let me go, so my dad joked with him that they would pick me up from the restaurant later that day. Pooh waved them away- it was so cute! pooh:

when i was little, i had very long, thick hair, so my mom would always put it in a ponytail and then divide the hair into 3 braids so it wouldn't get tangled. all the characters played with it year in and year out (especially Chip, Dale, Tigger, and Goofy). watching home videos back you can tell that i really hated it- hilarious!!

back in 1998, we saw the Green Army Men at MGM. one of them came up to the video camera that my dad was holding and kept putting his face really close to it- great for watching home videos! and the best- my brother and i (ages 10 and 8 at the time) were sitting on a park bench with an Army Man, who was sitting quite still. on camera, you can hear my dad say "Megan, is he real?" i shrugged, so he told me to look a little closer. i put my face inches away from the Army Man's, and right at that time, he moved his head at me. the video is priceless! the look of shock on my face is awesome, and we always rewind it to watch again and again! :rotfl:

last, i LOVE it when i have great interactions with Stitch!! :stitch: he's obviously my fave, so i will stop to see him everytime, no matter how long the wait is! i own pretty much everything disney's made of him, be it pins or what-not. on our last day this past year, i saw Stitch at EPCOT. he of course gave me a hug and we posed for a pic, and then i took out a bag with a bunch of Stitch souvenirs, and i explained to him that he was my favorite character. he then gave me the biggest kiss and hug i've ever received from any character! and my mom got the cutest picture ever!! :goodvibes (which i would post if i even had a clue how to...)

i'm definitely going to try some of these "conversation starters" this summer!! :thumbsup2

Has anyone ever gone at Christmas time and told Jasmine "Happy Ramadan"? or given her a sweet to eat *after dark* because it's Ramadan?
Same for Aladdin?

Has anyone ever asked Prince John about the Magna Carta? I know, a little after the movie, but . . .

I am seriously in love with these stories. My only character interactions have been with Chip and Dale and I was pretty much the shy, hug and go type person. This year I'm determined to meet more characters and I'm going to try to do something fun. But considering I work with people every day, it's crazy how much I freeze up when it comes to Disney.

If nothing else I'm thinking of dressing up as Peter Pan for the MNSSHP so that alone should get a reaction from Captain Hook. And I'm thinking I might bring my plush Chip to the parks in hopes of that starting something fun with Chip and Dale. Hopefully Dale isn't too upset he's not my favorite. He's a really close second!

I'm the opposite. Dale's my fav with Chip being second. And I DO tell them that. :lmao:

We asked Chip and Dale which one was Alvin, Simon, or Theodore... we got a HUGE reaction from them!! LOL
